Police have been called in to investigate the 'Beckileaks' email hack with David Beckham concerned that more shocking revelations could emerge.

The former England captain has seen his reputation tarnished after damning emails between the superstar and his team of advisors were leaked.

The emails allegedly showed how desperate Becks was to ensure he was made ‘Sir David’ – and the lengths to which he would go to achieve his goal, even using his charity work.

When his campaign failed, he allegedly lashed out with an expletive-littered outburst.

Police officers have launched a probe in Portugal, where 18.6million emails and documents were hacked from servers of Doyen Global, the firm run by Beckham's PR chief and friend Simon Oliveira.

Team Beckham is now said to be worried that more private correspondence between Oliveira, Becks and his confidant and close friend David Gardner, who served as best man at the Beckham wedding in 1999.

It is thought the private messages include 'banter' about several well-known figures, according to The Sun on Sunday.

As the fallout over the leaked email scandal continued today, David Beckham's eldest son Brooklyn posted a picture of his father cuddling his young sister Harper in a touching photograph posted on Instagram.

An hour earlier, David himself posted a tribute to the victims of the Munich air disaster on his instagram account.

As the fallout over the leaked emails continued on Sunday, Beckham found the time to pay his respects to the victims of the Munich air disaster of 1958

The leak comes as a bitter blow to the popularity of Brand Beckham, which has been carefully cultivated over several years by David and Victoria.

The criticism was led by Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan, who branded the former Manchester United and Real Madrid footballer as 'repulsive'.

Piers, 51, tweeted: 'RIP Brand Beckham. No one will be envious of David Beckham by tomorrow.

'They will be sickened by him. I think we can forget about "Sir David Beckham" ever happening.'

Becks was said to be defiant last night, insisting the emails were sent 'in the heat of the moment' and he did not care about being knighted, according to the Sunday Mirror.

His father Ted Beckham refused to comment on the scandal this morning.

David and Victoria Beckham are among a few Britons who can claim to be true global superstars.

David's football career and work with Unicef has made him one of the most marketable stars in sport, while Victoria has become a style icon and famed fashion designer in her own right.

This week's hacking embarrassment has undoubtedly tarnished the carefully- constructed reputation of Brand Beckham, but it is certainly not the first scandal the pair would have survived.

The then-Manchester United midfielder shouldered the blame for England's exit from the tournament that year, with effigies of Beckham famously hung outside a London pub.

Becks would eventually win over the Three Lions fans and be made captain of the national team.

But scandal would engulf the star once more in 2004 when his PA Rebecca Loos claimed to have had an affair with Becks behind Victoria's back.

Shortly after the allegations, Australian model Sarah Marbeck claimed that she too had slept with Beckham on two separate occasions.

Beckham would dismiss both accusations as 'ludicrous'.

Speaking from his three-bed terraced house in Chingford, east London, he said: 'I've got nothing to say.'

Ironically, one target of his wrath was a real diva – Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins, who was awarded an OBE in the same year that the footballer’s much-anticipated gong was unforthcoming.

In an email to Oliveira, Beckham allegedly wrote: ‘Katherine Jenkins OBE for what? 

'Singing at the rugby and going to see the troops plus admitting to taking coke? F****** joke.’

Jenkins, 36, had previously admitted in an interview with The Mail on Sunday that her life was almost ruined by cocaine and ecstasy. Yesterday she declined to comment.

Meanwhile, a source close to the former Manchester United star told The Mail on Sunday that his foul-mouthed rant was written ‘in the heat of the moment’.

The source said: ‘David is just like any normal person and he was extremely disappointed that he wasn’t deemed worthy of becoming a Sir.

‘He is a passionate man. He gets very passionate about his work and particularly about his country, Great Britain. That’s what drives him.

‘He spent a lot of time and effort getting the London Olympics to the UK which had such a positive effect on so many people, but for it not to be acknowledged made him very emotional. Who wouldn’t be?’

The series of emails was released by Football Leaks, the sporting equivalent of WikiLeaks, via European media. They were dismissed by a Beckham spokesman who said they had been ‘hacked and doctored’.

The cache includes allegations that Beckham, a Unicef ambassador, demanded £6,685 from the charity for a business-class flight for him to attend an event in Asia. He never took the flight because his sponsors had provided a private jet.

Beckham’s agent Simon Oliveira allegedly emailed the Jonathan Ross Show producers, saying: ‘Maybe Jonathan should ask about the knighthood and say he should get it. What do you think? David is up for it.’ 

He added Beckham would respond with an anecdote about Ross being a jinx because he had predicted (wrongly as it turned out) in their previous interview that the star would play for Britain’s 2012 Olympic team. Beckham did exactly that on the show…

Ross: 'Oh there’s one more thing I need to ask you. One more thing. Beckham: 'Nor have I.'

Ross: 'They haven’t tipped you a wink or anything?'

Beckham: 'I’m very honoured and lucky to have what I already have. The OBE I’m very proud of. You know, even to be talked about receiving a knighthood is an unbelievable honour, but I’m very lucky to have what I have.'

Ross: 'I am going to stick my neck out and say I am convinced you are going to get it. I don’t see how they could possibly pass you over… How can they not give you a knighthood? You can trust me on this one, I’m pretty sure.'

Beckham: 'But you did say the last time I was on the show that I will definitely be going to the Olympics with Stuart Pearce [Team GB’s 2012 football coach]… and we know how that went.'

Football Leaks claimed emails suggested Beckham used his charity work as part of a conscious effort to win an honour – something he denies.

Beckham reacted angrily when Oliveira suggested he should put $1 million into a prize-giving Unicef dinner in Shanghai, Football Leaks claimed. 

The footballer, who has an estimated net worth of £280 million, allegedly replied: ‘I don’t want to put my personal money into this cause… If there was no fund, the money would be for me. This f****** money is mine.’ 

French investigative site Mediapart, which published the Football Leaks material, alleged Beckham wanted to use his personal fund, named ‘7’ after his former shirt number at Manchester United, to promote his business activities.

‘Humanitarian causes were just a stepping stone for his personal affairs, and to project his image among advertisers,’ claimed a source close to the leaks.

Beckham, who received an OBE in 2003, allegedly ranted at members of the Honours Committee in an email after missing out on a knighthood in 2013, calling them a ‘bunch of c****’. He added: ‘Who decides the honours? It’s a disgrace.’

By 2013 Beckham’s playing career was over and he expected a fitting honour. That November, one newspaper even published a front-page story under the headline ‘Arise Sir David’, suggesting it was a certainty.

Ahead of Beckham’s appearance on the Jonathan Ross Show, Oliveira allegedly wrote in an email to the programme’s producers: ‘Maybe Jonathan should ask about the knighthood and say he should get it. What do you think? David is up for it.’

Beckham learned a few weeks after the show that his bid had failed.

The following year Oliveira urged him to intervene in the Scottish independence debate because ‘clearly the right thing is that we stay together due to our history and because we are stronger’. 

He advised Beckham: ‘I also think your support will play well with establishment and in turn help your knighthood.’ He replied: ‘OL let’s do it.’

A spokesman for Beckham said: ‘This story is based on outdated material and taken out of context from hacked and doctored private emails from a third party server and gives a deliberately inaccurate picture.’

Unicef said last night: ‘David has given significant funds personally.’  

HOW BECKS BACKED 'NO' CAMP IN BID TO SECURE A KNIGHTHOOD

David Beckham's leaked emails revealed he backed the pro-Union campaign in the independence referendum, after being told it would increase his chance of a knighthood.

The hacked private messages suggest he came out against separation in 2014 in a bid to appeal to 'the establishment' and raise his chances of getting a gong. 

Beckham - who was awarded an OBE in 2003 - last night dismissed the claims, stating emails had been 'hacked and doctored' from a private account.

But former Labour MP and Yes Scotland board member, Dennis Canavan, said: 'David Beckham's statement is a load of sycophantic unionist drivel and it does not say much for him that he apparently allowed somebody else to put such words into his mouth.

'This reinforces my belief that the honours system lends itself to abuse and possibly corruption.

'The Better Together campaign should come clean and tell us whether there was a concerted effort to get celebrities to issue similar statements in return for honours.' 

The Football Leaks website claims that in August 2014, the TV historian Dan Snow emailed Beckham's PR advisor, Simon Oliveira, to ask if the former Manchester United star would back the pro-Union Better Together campaign.

It is claimed Mr Oliveira declared that 'clearly the right thing is that we stay together due to our history and because we are stronger' and advised the star: 'I think your support will play well with the establishment and, in turn, help your knighthood.'

Beckham allegedly replied: 'OK, let's do it.'

Mr Oliveira then apparently drafted a statement which read: 'I took as much satisfaction in seeing Sir Chris Hoy or Andy Murray win gold as I did watching Jess Ennis and Mo Farah do the same in the Olympic Stadium.

'My sincere hope is that you will vote to renew our historic bond, which has been such a success over the centuries and the envy of the entire world.

'What unites us is much greater than what divides us. Let's stay together. David Beckham.'

Beckham is then alleged to have expressed concern he didn't want the message to be 'too needy' or 'not too, oh please stay with us', but Mr Oliveira then reassured him the statement was fine.
