Chris Leavitt has spent his career telling the wealthy to paint their homes white - so it’s no surprise that the Million Dollar Listing Miami star's  own $2 million mansion follows the same rules.

The celebrity realtor, 39, who moved from Miami to Palm Beach  two years ago, has given DailyMail.com an exclusive look inside his beach-side house and says light and bright with splashes of color is the only way to go.

It’s a philosophy that also applies to his wardrobe, and is perhaps why it's been rumored that he was asked to feature in a reboot of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.

His home of seven months is a New England-style property with a custom made pool designed by Leavitt himself, and a lounge dominated by a pair of oil paintings picked up by the realtor in a nearby antique shop.

‘I had to redo all the walls, I had to redo the landscaping. To get it to my satisfaction - perfection - took a lot,' he said

The luxurious backyard, featuring a custom-made pool designed by Leavitt himself, also has $75,000 worth of fake grass. Unfortunately, his new lawn is now the subject of a dispute with the City of Palm Beach which outlaws fake grass and is now demanding he rips it up within the next 30 days

Upstairs is a huge wardrobe packed with ‘hundreds’ of pairs of white jeans, all by Acne or Ralph Lauren, while out front is Leavitt’s custom-designed snow white Porsche 911 car.

The kitchen, which is packed with ‘top of the range appliances’ - a Sub Zero fridge, Miele dishwasher, and a $12,000 Fisher and Paykel stove.  He designed it himself but had input from interior designer Amir Khamneipur who is also one of his best friends

Leavitt never uses the kitchen himself, although ‘Nanny’, who tends to the property on the 39-year-old’s behalf, sometimes does.

‘It was a $2 million purchase and I spent hundreds of thousands restoring what was there,’ Leavitt told DailyMail.com.

‘It was a recently renovated house, back in 2009 I think they did it. But the people who lived there before did not take care of it and it was a mess.

‘So I had to redo all the walls, I had to redo the landscaping. To get it to my satisfaction - perfection - took a lot.’

Boston-born Leavitt has been a realtor for 20 years and started his career in New York before relocating to Miami, where in 2014 he joined the cast of Million Dollar Listing Miami.

In 2015, he moved to Palm Beach, a childhood holiday destination, where he specializes in luxury property sales, most starting at $15 million.

He now splits his time between Palm Beach and New York, where he has been spotted filming for Real Housewives of New York alongside close friend Tinsley Mortimer, 41.

Tacky is not something Leavitt tolerates, particularly at home, where he happily admits he spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in renovating and decorating his new pad

Leavitt has made a living telling other people how to dress and decorate their homes stylishly, and it's been rumored that he was asked to feature in a reboot of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy

The two met while she was still living in Palm Beach, a lifestyle that came to an end following her well-documented split from sugar heir Nico Fanjul, 31, amid accusations of domestic violence.

According to Leavitt, Mortimer, who is now said by friends to be rebuilding her life in New York, is ‘a real girly girl and that’s why I love her’.

He adds: ‘Whenever I go out with her or we hang out, I know she’s going to show up to the occasion looking good.

‘Even when she’s going shopping, she wears cute little flippy skirts and things like that. I love that. All my girlfriends are like that. If you’re out with me, you’ll see me with a blond girl, whether it’s Tinsley or somebody else. They’re always blond, pretty and elegant but not tacky.’

Tacky is not something Leavitt tolerates, particularly in his home, as he happily admits he spent $75,000 on fake grass in order to get the perfect look.

Unfortunately, his new lawn is now the subject of a dispute with the City of Palm Beach which outlaws fake grass and is now demanding he rips it up within the next 30 days.

‘I spent about $75,000 on synthetic grass because I’m a perfectionist and want everything to look like a movie set basically,’ Leavitt said.

Nanny will sometimes cook in the kitchen, but nevertheless the space is designed to the ninths, complete with pure white china, antique bowls and glistening appliances

‘I can’t tolerate ugly worn-out grass but I didn’t know it was against the code of the town. So I spent all this money and here I am putting it in, it looks incredible and not only is it good-looking, it’s environmentally friendly.

‘It doesn’t drain the ground like real grass does and I’m using less water. But now I get this massive fine and letter on my front gate saying you have to remove it within 30 days.

‘I’m appealing it and going through major motions and doing whatever I can to rally against it because I think it’s really ridiculous.

‘I mean, if you look at Brentwood [an upmarket suburb of Los Angeles], California, every home has synthetic grass because it’s better for the environment.’

Leavitt’s home, which sat on the market for a year before he snapped it up, was renovated within two months of his arrival, with builders asked to work around the clock to complete it.

According to the realtor, the previous occupants had left it looking ‘a mess’, complete with ‘offensive’ carpets and ‘dirty’ grass outside.

‘The worst part of the house was the burnt-out, dirty grass on the exterior,’ says Leavitt. ‘Inside, there was some very expensive, yet hideous and offensive, carpeting that literally made me gag when I looked at it.’

He added: ‘The renovation was done in two months, I am extremely fast. I do not wait. I had people, I was quite the… I don’t want to say the word, that word driver [slave driver].

‘I was tough with them. I don’t know if they will want to help me in the future but I definitely get it done.’

With the house complete, Leavitt’s focus is now back on his career, beginning with a YouTube show alongside Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles’ David Parnes that is due to start shortly.

Leavitt is also rumored to star in a reboot of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy, a reality show classic that saw scruffy men restyled by their chic gay counterparts.

‘I have an extremely critical eye and I am constantly transforming people’s looks in my life whether they like it or not,’ he told DailyMail.com.

‘I also have a gift with straight men - they love me and don’t find me threatening at all.’

His ideal candidate for a restyle, he says, is President Trump, whose visits to his Florida property in Mar-a-Lago are currently making Palm Beach life ‘crazy’.

‘It’s Trump crazy, you can’t even move in this town right now,’ says Leavitt. ‘It’s interesting though, it’s sort of stirring up Palm Beach a little bit.

‘It’s only when he’s in town that it’s mayhem. I go to Mar-a-Lago all the time for social events and things, a lot of my friends are members, so I go a lot.

‘It’s quiet and fine, it’s no big deal but when he’s in town, the day before, day after and during, the whole town is mayhem.’

But while the Trump effect has pushed up property prices, Leavitt says the presidential wardrobe could do with an overhaul.

‘He is the biggest style offender I’ve seen in a long time,’ says Leavitt. ‘He wears the most ill-fitting clothes and frumpy overcoats.

‘For a man of such enormous power and wealth and with a woman as gorgeous as Melania by his side, there is simply no excuse. I get the red tie, but there should be some variation and some change in the texture of the tie.

‘I would like to put him into my overhaul machine. There isn’t enough time to even begin to tell you what I would do to recreate his look. ‘
