'Why did you show that?' Ed Sheeran worries that Sunrise's Sam and Kochie playing a viral video of Donald Trump 'singing' his hit Shape Of You has 'ruined his chances' at Number One

It was meant to be a bit of a giggle when Sunrise hosts Samantha Armytage and David Koch played Ed Sheeran a viral video of Donald Trump 'singing' his hit Shape Of You.

But the British singer was a touch nervous after sitting through several seconds of the comedic track on Wednesday morning's show.

'Is that gonna stop the song being number one now?' he quipped, before asking: 'Why did you show that?'

The video cuts together the US President saying various words to make it seem like he's singing the lyrics to the song.

Ed sat in silence watching the video at first, which he admitted his classical music composer brother had just sent him the day prior.

Eventually he bopped along with the track, singing the word 'body' along with Donald on screen.

When he turned to the hosts he joked: 'That's ruined my chances this week'.
