Volunteer Opportunities
We offer a variety of opportunities for volunteers to get involved at Connolly Ranch. Generally, volunteers must be at least 15 years of age, and a background check may be required for long-term volunteers over the age of 18 working with children or animals. Some of our volunteer opportunities include the following:
Outdoor Educator Assistants
Volunteers in our educational programs support our educators in the setup, execution, and breakdown of the day’s garden, animal, art, and cooking activities. Volunteers supervise and inspire kids in programs like Earthlings Outdoor Playschool, Second Saturdays, Sounds of Silence, Nature’s Play, Fun Family Fridays, EPiC Afterschool Program, Farm-to-Table field trips, and seasonal camps. Creature Comforts
Creature Comforts volunteers make a long-term weekly commitment to feeding and caring for our beloved farm animals. These positions are available 7 days per week in the mornings and evenings. Volunteers undergo an intensive and selective training process to ensure consistency and quality in the feeding and care of our animals.
Garden Growers
Assist with seed propagation, transplanting, weeding, mulching, compost building, pruning, harvesting, seed saving, and more!
Special Events
Volunteers play a large role at events like Dinner at the Ranch, Harvest Festival, Earth Night, Movie Nights, Birthday Parties, Walk-in Wednesdays, and Seasonal Celebrations. Specific volunteer roles include planning and promotion, parking, registration, ticket sales, food and beverage service, childcare, face painting, animal ambassadors, and responsible waste management.
Seasonal Work Parties
We tackle a variety of large and small Ranch projects during these ~3 hour work parties, including invasive species removal, maintenance and repair of property and facilities, and beautification before and after community events. We welcome groups and individuals from all sectors of the community to volunteer their time and talents to a good cause!
Administrative Support
This role involves office work depending on the individual’s interest and skill-set. Tasks might include answering phone calls, data entry, filing, social media, web design, grant writing, and more.
Community Partners
We welcome organizations with like-minded missions to promote their work and engage the community with an interactive activity at our monthly Walk-in Wednesday. Please contact kali@connollyranch.org to schedule your organization.
Miscellaneous Professional Services
As we continue to grow and develop at Connolly Ranch, we welcome the offering of pro-bono services by professionals such as consultants, skilled laborers, designers, general contractors, photographers, chefs, organic agriculture industry leaders, artists, craftsmen, etc.
