Does Angel ever carry her own bag 😂😂

[–]muxbossgirl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

nope.

[–]sootysweepnsoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As long as Frankie is there, she’ll use him. 🙄

[–]VelvetLeopard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was quite a sight to see Angel running alongside Toni, a woman who has terminal cancer, and she was carrying her own bag whereas Angel was not.

[–]bellaboo030505 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Haha I was wondering the same thing. Even when he got stuck getting out of something she didn't help.

[–]jhutch2147 26 points27 points  (4 children)

Oh wow that cave lake looks absolutely incredible ! So jealous of the contestants

[–]CreswickOctober 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The water looks beautiful but cave diving gives me the heeby jeebies, I don't know why

[–]ValuePsychological74 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely stunning. Locations this season have been gorgeous.

[–]zerefyagami 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I don't understand why the other team member isn't allowed to enter just to see the Cenote. Such a missed opportunity.

[–]sootysweepnsoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly to avoid any contaminants from their shoes, etc getting into the water. These properly maintained cenotes require you to completely shower before entering to remove sunscreen, creams, perfumes, etc from your body but if someone was to walk onto the platforms with their shoes which they’ve been running all around the world in, and then the people who had washed beforehand got whatever was on the shoes onto their feet and jumped into the water, it might be harmful for the water.

[–]CreswickOctober 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Beau is into bondage, confirmed

What the shit really

[–]DyingMessage 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Tiffany and Cynthia ran a great leg today. I wish they'd get a bit more focus because they're a lot of fun.

[–]muxbossgirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

same. i just love how skillful those 2 are compared to a lot of other teams. and they are extremely sweet to watch.

[–]muxbossgirl 14 points15 points  (12 children)

Toni & Heath are just so darn cute..that "will you marry me again" had me in tears. Can I now openly not like Angel at all? How is she always just controlling Frankie and coming up with evil-ish ideas that he literally doesn't even nod at? let alone agree with? Too much control? Even Jamus fights back lol!

Just a question, why do you choose to spout hate? Over relatively small reasons, too.

    Angel, Pako, Kelly & Georgia...

You also openly support Chelsea's abusive behaviour so that makes me confused even more.

You can criticise, for sure, but you're leaning into showing hate more. I don't like it and it confuses me, but that's my problem. Can you enlighten me?

    [–]muxbossgirl 3 points4 points  (9 children)

Just don't like how they play the game or behave here by deleting shady comments. Anything else?

    [–]pantaloonjohnny -2 points-1 points  (8 children)

Nope. Because it wasn't clear, I was going to rephrase the question to:

Why do you think your reasons to dislike a number of racers, reasons which are perfectly fine to have in private, warrant a catty and hateful expression to them and others, encouraging a communal dynamic of hatred, offence and unhelpful negativity?

But no, I have enough. I think I get it.

    [–]sootysweepnsoo 5 points6 points  (7 children)

This is Reddit. This is the internet. People can have any type of discussion they want and if teams decide to have an online presence, encountering unfavourable opinions of how they raced should be expected. You can’t put everything down to “it’s editing” when producers can only edit the actual material.

    [–]pantaloonjohnny -1 points0 points  (6 children)

This is Reddit. This is the internet. People can have any type of discussion they want

Makes sense, no problems here. The only thing is that it baffles me why people choose to express their opinions in the least polite way.

The rest of your comment I don't understand how it is directly regarding my points? And in case it wasn't clear, unfavourable opinions are fine. Great even.

Also pardon me but I'm not very socially experienced, which might explain some of my confusion.

    [–]sootysweepnsoo 2 points3 points  (5 children)

It seemed you were referencing a now-deleted commented from most likely, Kelly and Georgia, who have left many extremely defensive comments to disagree with what others have said about them and then conveniently later delete them so it appears the discourse is one way.

    [–]KellyandGeorgia 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The deleted comment above wasn’t ours :)

    [–]DazedNConfucious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely right. The comment was from another user. BTW, love you

    [–]pantaloonjohnny -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Oh, sorry if I misled you. I wasn't referencing any now-deleted comment from them? I understand they did delete some comments but I don't know which ones they deleted.

If you were talking about my first reply here, it was to a now-deleted comment by [unavailable] saying "lo and behold! the most annoying team [Kelly and Georgia] is still racing uggghhh" or something along those lines.

    [–]muxbossgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is borderlining on being stalker-ish now! I'll delete all my comments as I am officially creeped out! 😑

    [–]pantaloonjohnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To [unavailable]: Sorry for creeping you out! I don't intend on being stalker-ish at all. I just read all the comments and it's been many episodes on here so I often recognise the regulars who write them. And if the comments are particularly memorable in one way or another, I tend to remember them. I didn't know remembering things is creepy. Once again, sorry for creeping you out and causing you to delete your comments.

    [–]pantaloonjohnny 13 points14 points  (2 children)

    Back to Mexico for Angel!

    [–]CreswickOctober 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Angel's detour through Mexico and Frankie racing by himself was a comedy highlight for the season, especially when they show her walking through customs E.g.

    [–]glider521al 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So far ahead; she was already in the next country 3 legs ago XD.

    [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here's the summary of TAR Australia S06E16!

    • Route Info: Teams make their way via bus through the Belize border to the Salon Rincón Colonial Restaurant in Campeche, Mexico. Teams must eat tarantulas, crickets, hissing cockroaches, and desert scorpions blindfolded. If teams get the food wrong, they each have to eat a jalapeno chilli. Once teams get all foods correct, they will receive their next clue.
    • Beau: "Give me a sombrero, ASAP. Hola!"
    • Angel goes back to Mexico for this leg after travelling from Cancun, Mexico to Belize City, Belize.
    • Route Info: Shooting Stars
Teams make their way on foot to San Roman Park to hit the Seven Deadly Sins star-shaped piñatas by firing balls from a catapult. Once the piñatas drop down from the string, teams must smash the piñatas to find a marked candy wrapper. Once teams show the marked candy wrapper to the judge, teams will receive their next clue.
    • Heath: "That cockroach was DISGUSTING!! I felt the guts!"
    • Cynthia: "I'm still picking out poop and guts in teeth right now."
    • Route Info: Paint The Town Rainbow
Teams make their way to Calle 59 and must sign up on the Hours of Operation board for the challenge tomorrow. Teams must memorise the order of coloured buildings in the street to the colour palette board. Once teams memorise the order correctly, they will receive their next clue.
    • Angel: "I do not want to see another piñata in my life!"
    • Kelly: "This piñata became my worst enemy."
    • Teams get to enjoy some dancing and traditional Mexican music.
    • Kelly & Georgia decided to take the penalty after trying to hit the pinata for 4 hours.
    • Kelly: "Just to get bloody beaten by a piñata."
    • The coloured buildings reminded Mori of his original hometown of Valparaíso, Chile.
    • Lauren & Steph's and Heath & Toni's strategies are to take notes on the colour shades.
    • Heath: "What colour is beige?"
    • Tiffany & Cynthia's strategy is to run to the palette board and find the coloured buildings in order. The palette pieces are actually photographs of the buildings, so they have specific marks.
    • Angel & Frankie teamed up with Pako & Mori for this task.
    • Route Info: On The Ropes
Teams drive in their 2022 Nissan Versas to the Hacienda Sotuta de Peon Farm. Teams must carry Henequéns frond bundles to the factory. Teams must then pull the fibre strands over the spikes to align the individual fibres, and must spin to create 5 metres of rope. If the rope breaks, teams will be sent to the back of the line. Once teams complete the process, they will receive their next clue.
    • Frankie & Angel's navigation app was the only app that worked out of the other teams.
    • Chelsea & Jamus teamed up with Lauren & Steph.
    • Angel & Frankie veered off to a different route.
    • Roadblock: Who's in the Deep End?
Teams make their way on foot along the horse rail tracks to Cenote Tsukán. One racer must shower before diving to the bottom to retrieve their next clue.
    • Pako: "I just feel rejuvenated, especially after all the challenges we have been doing."
    • Virtual Pitstop: Teams make their way on foot back to the Hacienda Sotuta de Peon Farm, only by walking. The last team to arrive may be eliminated.
    • A Virtual Pitstop is the confirmation of this being a Keep On Racing Leg.
    • Kelly: "Are you [Georgia] an English teacher? What is this?"
    • The Pitstop guest is Miguel Maya.
    • Pako & Mori won 1st Place, and Beau gives them their next clue for the next leg.
    • Heath & Toni (2nd Place).
    • Heath: "You can tell on his [Beau] face, there is a 'but'."
    • Angel & Frankie still holding their Henequén rope.
    • Beau (to Miguel): "Do they do Taco Tuesdays?"
    • Angel & Frankie (3rd Place).
    • Kelly & Georgia arrived at the Pitstop, but they have incurred a 10-minute penalty for failing to finish the Piñata task.
    • Tiffany & Cynthia (4th Place).
    • Beau: "You can do a lot in 7 minutes."
      Georgia: "I'll start counting. 1. 2..."
      Kelly: "Nah, don't."
    • Chelsea: "Me and water is... not great."
    • Kelly & Georgia talked about Jake & Holly's elimination back in Morocco.
    • Chelsea thinks of her children to help tackle her fears.
    • Kelly & Georgia (5th Place).
    • Lauren & Steph (6th Place).
    • Chelsea & Jamus arrived in Last Place, but will continue on racing.
    • Next Episode: Teams travel to Mérida, Mexico and face the Double U-Turn. Teams do some face painting, as well as asking for directions.

    [–]KellyandGeorgia 37 points38 points  (21 children)

Before the penalty haters come at us. We were offered a penalty twice and refused to take it. We were at the challenge for 4 hours and our piñata wasn’t even moving, it was broken. Was our lowest point in the race by far.

    [–]MessiMassi 7 points8 points  (6 children)

    How’s your back Kelly?

    [–]KellyandGeorgia 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Could barely sleep that night it was so sore. We got back to the hotel around midnight and room service forgot our dinner order 😂 was just a terrible night

    [–]MessiMassi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    OMG LOL

    [–]planeray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Oh man, how horrific!

    [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Wow, that's an oof in terms of room service.

    [–]glider521al 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    That's unlucky.

Also 4 hours is intensive commitment!

    [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Lots of credit to them for refusing the penalty twice!

    [–]thegreyskies 4 points5 points  (8 children)

Do you mean the mechanism that was supposed to make it drop was broken? Or the pinata itself broken?

    [–]KellyandGeorgia 10 points11 points  (7 children)

The mechanism, was like a rope on a hook but our hook was tilted upwards so the rope couldn’t get to the end of it (sorry hard to explain)

    [–]thegreyskies 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Yeah I understand and you got a raw deal. I feel bad for you guys, I hope you don't get eliminated because of it. Bad way to go out

    [–]glider521al 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Out of curiosity, what criteria was there for penalties this season?

are they weighted according to the challenge/how long the challenge was attempted for/if their are technical issues with the task setup (like the one described)?

P.s. Glad you survived the leg 👍

    [–]KellyandGeorgia 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I can’t speak for every situation but my interpretation of it was that it depended on the leg mechanics a lot. Our season had very tight finishing times, for the most part teams were very close to each other, so anything longer than 30 mins would pretty much guarantee you were out. You may have noticed but pretty much every team that takes a penalty is last anyway. We weren’t allowed to simply take a penalty whenever we wanted, you had to be in last and been at a task for a long time. I can see the frustration from viewers on it not being clear for sure.

    [–]glider521al 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Thanks for clarifying, that does make a lot more sense. I wish that had been explained during the show.

Edit: I can see how 30 minutes is brutal during this season, I feel sorry for befell Holly and Jake.

    [–]FirstGonkEmpire 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk, it seems bullshitty to me. Nothing against any of the teams at all, they basically do what the producers say.

There should be a clear set of consistent rules, communicated beforehand. I.e. you have to be at a challenge for a minimum of 30 minutes, then its a 30 minute penalty if you choose to abandon it after that. But for it to be seemingly completely arbitrary, like 10 minutes for a missed challenge now, but 30 minutes for holly and jake dragging them to elimination from 1st, 15 minutes for completing a task but cheating, idk it just seems really random.

    [–]callmetuesday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wondered about yours being broken! Thank you for explaining. Bit rough that you still copped a penalty though, I was half expecting Beau to waive the penalty at the pit stop because of the broken piñata

    [–]jhutch2147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    No hate here!

    [–]wilderlens 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That looked so hard! Some of the piñatas seemed defective.

    [–]ValuePsychological74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think also the trick was they had to hit precisely the actual little target symbol and not the piñata, to make it fall down. Or in Pako and Mori’s case just keep hitting the piñata itself till it explodes and the lollies fall out on their own! How good were the cops though, smashed it, literally!

    [–]pantaloonjohnny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good on you for sticking it out for so long! That looked absolutely difficult. Additional props for refusing the penalty twice. So many of us would not have lasted that long. That thing looked immoveable.

    [–]DazedNConfucious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the penalty haters come at us. We were offered a penalty twice and refused to take it.

Don’t apologise for anything babe. Love you 😘

    [–]CreswickOctober 11 points12 points  (2 children)

Seeing the teams have a dance was a cool little moment, Tiffany and Cynthia especially have some moves!

    [–]pantaloonjohnny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    I love moments like that!

    [–]ValuePsychological74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree! Was a fun and lovely moment. And enjoyed seeing them happier this ep.

    [–]redstadt 12 points13 points  (2 children)

It feels like theres either an eating challenge or a dance challenge every episode...

And that pinata challenge must have been a bit broken, some fell down way easier than others.

    [–]CreswickOctober 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Add in a "one at a time" line up too

    [–]ValuePsychological74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luck of the draw I guess. Bit like when some teams get a taxi driver that goes the wrong the way. Racing and travelling is always a bit of luck. There was one shot where Frankie says he got it, but clearly the ball hit the piñata and not the little target mechanism. So I think the task was a lot more difficult than it looked! Good on the teachers for not giving up, they did their students proud. Although bet they won’t be having piñatas at any parties any time soon! Lol

    [–]CreswickOctober 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Tiffany & Cynthia smashed that challenge, kudos to them

    [–]ValuePsychological74 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are quiet achievers. And I think will be an inspiration to many young girls and women.

    [–]glider521al 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed, they're usually off camera, so it's nice to see them excel.

    [–]jhutch2147 10 points11 points  (5 children)

Happy for Janus, he is a good egg….I stil don’t like Chelsea…but good luck for the rest of the race

    [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Chelsea deserves at least some credit for tackling one of her biggest fears in that Roadblock task though. Hopefully she doesn't argue with Jamus much later on.

    [–]jhutch2147 13 points14 points  (3 children)

She was okay this episode and I do give her credit for overcoming the fear in this task….but just the constant arguing and blaming of Janus for everything cannot be forgotten.

    [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

That's definitely fair. I hope this season will help Chelsea to change her treatment of Jamus better.

    [–]glider521al 1 point2 points  (1 child)

To be fair, they look like they've been improving since the first leg of Belize, there's much less arguing/blaming Jamus.

    [–]muxbossgirl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i love chelsea!!!! she reminds me of a friend i used to have that suffered from too much anxiety but had the sweetest of hearts. Thank God they aren't out. ouufff... I was gonna stop watching for sure.

    [–]KingoftheHill63 7 points8 points  (4 children)

I swear I saw Kelly and Georgia waiting in line? Mistake in the edit?

    [–]pantaloonjohnny 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Editing hasn't been perfect I noticed, probably because of the ep being brought forward. Even it showed Angel & Frankie in 6th place leaving the piñatas when they were in 5th. Nothing too disastrous tho

    [–]ValuePsychological74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noticed something similar in another ep, but then realised they had to tell the story of each team so didn’t bother me.

    [–]RagsTTiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

    I thought the same thing

    [–]KingoftheHill63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The edit making it seem like the teams are closer than they actually are. An amazing race tradition

    [–]WittyContribution 14 points15 points  (9 children)

All I could think throughout this episode is JUSTICE FOR JAKE & HOLLY!

30 minute penalty whilst everyone else is getting 10-15 minutes. I'd be FUMING if I was them watching from home. Heck, even I'm annoyed and I'm just a viewer. The producers need to be consistent... it's a sham.

I'm coming to the conclusion that they simply gave the 30 minute penalty for dramatic effect, knowing it'd be a tight finish.

We've had the same nonsense with the speed bumps, Kathy & Chace/Stuart & Glennon clearly got such a raw deal compared to the other two speed bumps.

The producers making it up as they go along is putting a dampener on the season.

    [–]magikarpcatcher 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Seriously. I would be seething too if I was Jake & Holly.

    [–]muxbossgirl 1 point2 points  (2 children)

it really bugged me. only 10 minutes?!!! i was hoping they'd be out haha.

    [–]magikarpcatcher 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    same, lol.

but it turned out to be a KOR leg anyways.

    [–]ValuePsychological74 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I really don’t think J&H were at the hat challenge anywhere near as long as the teachers attempted the piñata one. They likely just gave what was they thought appropriate.

    [–]WittyContribution 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The circumstances were the exact same. After both challenges, teams had to sign up to a board where both J&H and K&G were last.

Completed or not, nothing changes in that respect. They're both still last in line the next day.

It's not like the penalties have been inconsistent all season. Literally, every penalty has been 10-15 minutes regardless of circumstance... except Jake & Holly, who's circumstances for quitting the challenge had zero effect on how the next day played out.

So the question becomes why? Why double/triple the amount of time for them and no one else? I mean, ultimately none of the other penalties mattered, because they've been NEL/KOR leg, so maybe that's why.

Or, like I said in my previous post, perhaps it's because they realised 30 minutes was around the mark of those at the back of the pack and they wanted a tense and exciting finish, and J&H just got the short straw.

Either way, the inconsistency is irritating and unfair.

    [–]quarrystone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The circumstances were the exact same.

Lol, based on the way they edited the episodes, or is there something we didn't see that you're aware of?

    [–]literally-a-yak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure they lessen the penalty for non-elim legs. Either way, in my eyes, a 30 min penalty in most cases is already too short. It should mean something to quit like it does with 4h Road Block quits and I believe 6h (?) Detour quits. Also, since Kelly & Georgia's piñata was legit broken, it's not soo bad this time. Not like Chelsea & Jamus' from a few episodes ago.

    [–]mrfalconcat 5 points6 points  (1 child)

The other people around me throwing up would get me way more than the bugs I reckon hahaha

    [–]muxbossgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    omg same!

    [–]mrfalconcat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Frankie is an absolute machine with the running and double bags!

    [–]pantaloonjohnny 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Kelly & Georgia inexplicably turn up at the hacienda and teleport back on the road lol

    [–]KellyandGeorgia 15 points16 points  (0 children)

    Our car had teleporting powers

    [–]CreswickOctober 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Was this a continuity goof? I missed it

    [–]KingoftheHill63 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah. We saw them in line but according to the edit they should still be on the road there

    [–]CreswickOctober 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Love it

    [–]Rough-Candidate-9791 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Did I miss something stated earlier in the episode - is there a reason the teams can’t run?

    [–]KellyandGeorgia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think they also wanted to prevent having another injury! We were walking right next to a train track so definitely potential for rolled ankles

    [–]Slow-Boysenberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a working farm so they can’t run for safety reasons

    [–]planeray 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeh - was in the instructions before the rope making. On the basis that it's a working farm (presumably because of something like heavy machinery moving about, or uneven ground or something).

    [–]KingoftheHill63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can't run through the farm

    [–]pantaloonjohnny 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Even with all these position changes these past few legs, Angel & Frankie still getting a third 3rd in a row and Kelly & Georgia getting a third 5th in a row is wild

    [–]CreswickOctober 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol this is a great observation, thank you

    [–]sootysweepnsoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is there nobody on production who can tell Beau how to correctly pronounce some of the Spanish words?

    [–]Darcyyeetus 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Disappointing Season imagine a 10 minute penalty over 30 minutes that's bullshit

    [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The penalty times are indeed a problem.

    [–]muxbossgirl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this season seems unfair in terms of alot of things. Maybe these many teams weren't a good idea.

    [–]fg7893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is the inconsistency in the penalties is a huge turn off. Jake and Holly got the rough end of the pineapple and I honestly am not surprised that either the Australian producers are incompetent or are playing favouritism especially the stupidity of Kathy and Chases speed bump being after the timed challenged. Honestly prefer the US version where penalties are a blue moon thing v Australia woopty doo thing it’s ok penalties are no biggie.

    [–]archiefeeties 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People who identify as religious will just constantly justify the worst most putrid behavior. Sickening

      [–]CreswickOctober 3 points4 points  (0 children)

      He can't help himself lol

      [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

      New Nickname: Speedo Beau

      [–]CreswickOctober 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Alternatively you can use Angel's pronunciation of Byoo

      [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

      Haha, yes!

      [–]CreswickOctober 10 points11 points  (2 children)

For all of her low moments, kudos to Chelsea for getting the dive task done. It must have been extra tough not being able to have your partner there to help reassure you

      [–]LongSummerNight 2 points3 points  (1 child)

      Chelsea is horrible.

      [–]DazedNConfucious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but credit where credit is due. She faced her fears and came out on top.

      [–]planeray 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I love how even the partners not eating are retching at this challenge!

      [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just the idea of eating hissing cockroaches ruins appetites!

      [–]jhutch2147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Frankie loving the cockroaches, going back for seconds after the leg

      [–]jhutch2147 3 points4 points  (8 children)

Wonder if Kelly and Georgia had the option to go back and complete the task to avoid a time penalty….they could spend all night there now and still only be 3 minutes behind.

Although it looks like the pinatas for them were rigged to not come down

      [–]KellyandGeorgia 11 points12 points  (4 children)

We would’ve stayed all night, but the piñata wasn’t moving. We had been hitting it for 4 hours and basically knew it wasn’t coming down. Was shit for our crew having to just sit there for hours as well so we eventually took the penalty.

      [–]Floolp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just imagining the poor lady handing out the clues… she had no idea how long she would be waiting for. Watching you for 4 hours haha!!

      [–]jhutch2147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understand the reason man, it looked rigged based on the footage. You have a lot more patience than I would after 4 hours.

Just wasn’t sure after realising there was a delay until the morning if you could go back to avoid a time penalty at the finishing mat. I assume not though.

      [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of credit goes to you two for refusing the penalty twice though!

      [–]ValuePsychological74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      You guys showed great tenacity.

      [–]ValuePsychological74 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Not rigged, as they all ran in and picked their own piñatas and slingshot. Maybe faulty or something happened when it was hit that got the mechanisms caught. In the end it didn’t change the outcome, so can’t see a conspiracy in play. Shame they couldn’t even smash it hard enough to break the lollies out. Always drama with an Amazing Race slingshot, at least this wasn’t a watermelon haha!

      [–]KellyandGeorgia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely not rigged at all, was just luck of the draw! Pako and Mori had the same issues as well. That’s just how the race goes sometime and we knew that. Our future kids are never having a piñata at their parties.

      [–]Darcyyeetus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Not rigged" Actually it is because most of the team skipped the legs because of covid and the teams who get penalty for quitting a challenge get 10 minutes over 30 minutes i can tell you some examples. In Episode 6 they rigged the running 2k back to the pitstop so the mullets can get a unfair elimination. Episode 11 they gave Stewart and Glennon a 15 minute penalty while Chelsea and Jamus get a 10 minute penalty.

      [–]pantaloonjohnny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      The cave is absolutely magical!

      [–]Floolp 4 points5 points  (2 children)

How does a virtual pit stop work? Will they just continue racing into the next leg right after they check in?

      [–]magikarpcatcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were just using fancy words, it's a keep on racing leg

      [–]mjharmstone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a no-rest pit stop. They're more commonly known as Keep on Racing legs.

      [–]jhutch2147 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Toni is really heated up this episode

      [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 'Never Give Up' mentality does usually get the better of not just Toni, but also some of the other teams!

      [–]glider521al 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I'm curious about the scheduling it's usually spread out at 3 days a week, but this week 5 episodes are being aired in quick succession? Why is that?
I would have missed the episode were it not for a notification on Facebook (though 10 Play does show past episodes)

      [–]Apple_Slipper[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I guess Network 10 wants TAR Australia to finish up earlier. There are 5 more episodes next week after tomorrow's episode.

      [–]sootysweepnsoo 3 points4 points  (1 child)

If you’re going to visit a cenote in Mexico, one like this is where to go. I went to another similar one that’s in a protected private park and you must also shower before entering. But most people go to the overrun cenotes that are very cheap to enter and then wonder how they ended up with parasites. The cenotes on properties like the one show on TAR are looked after and numbers limited to keep the water in good condition. I am glad that everyone appreciated (well except perhaps Chelsea) the experience because it is truly magical.

Beau’s banter with the man at the virtual pit stop was cringey.

Kelly and Georgia lucked out with receiving only thirty minutes as a penalty. What a shame.

      [–]VelvetLeopard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not thirty, TEN. Was a joke of a penalty. Very unfair.

      [–]handinhandkameraden 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Wait how does a street have an hours of operation?

      [–]jhutch2147 5 points6 points  (3 children)

After dark is when the cartels take control of the street. Or maybe the producers could only arrange filming during daylight hours so the people living there didn’t get disturbed

      [–]ValuePsychological74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous street though! Amazing colours and buildings.

      [–]sootysweepnsoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cartels are not running through the streets of Campeche or Mérida. The city areas in both places are positively lively during the evening and two very safe cities in Mexico. If anything it was likely to reduce disruption to local residents. The main city of Campeche is small with only a couple hundred thousand residents.

      [–]ValuePsychological74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Oh yes, it is Mexico!!!

      [–]CreswickOctober 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just decorate it around the house

      Lol!

      [–]MessiMassi 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Btw no one here watch the first look promo for this season, it shows scenes from legs that haven’t happened yet, just a heads up!

      [–]pantaloonjohnny 2 points3 points  (1 child)

There are three/four teams that are shown making it further than now... That's scenes from beyond 16 legs into the race. I wish the pre-season promos were less spoilery.

      [–]MessiMassi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, but most the time I forget about it when I’m watching the show

      [–]rymerster 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I didn’t know it was on today

      [–]Toiletwasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      It's on tomorrow as well

      [–]DonnyGoodwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was only Sun-Tues? Maybe ratings are low so they want to wrap it up quick to get something else on

      [–]Hydreigon_Lord 4 points5 points  (1 child)

(See this post for more information on Pseudo-Elo ratings.)

And with that, Pako & Mori are back on top, and we are very close to having all remaining teams hold a positive rating.

      [–]AdStrict3663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we see the full ranking of the Australian and World teams?

      [–]MessiMassi 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Lol it’s obvious who makes it first because you can’t run 💀

      [–]ValuePsychological74 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No-one has mentioned how Angel and Frankie stopped to pat a horse! Guess there was no where to buy shoes?!?!

      [–]tekumse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad this ended up as non-elimination. The rope challenge with the single machine forced the teams to be separated but there was zero place where anyone can catch up and pass after that.

      [–]valercio 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Does anyone know the name of the Spanish song when it was being played after Frankie was frustrated over the first 10 balls didn't hit the pinata and when the transition background was some coconut trees?

      [–]sootysweepnsoo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

      Control - Genesis Delgado

      [–]valercio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU SO MUCH... TRIED FOR AN HOUR AND GAVE UP. (づ ̄3 ̄)づ╭❤~

      [–]CreswickOctober 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's got to be something defective with those pinatas!

      [–]jhutch2147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bad feeling for Kelly and Georgia in this episode :(

      [–]notwilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      I hope kelly&georgia make it!

      [–]archiefeeties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine if chelsea had a partner like herself, who was screaming at her to shut up and hurry up when she was struggling and needed support

      [–]FastMathematician338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the deal with penalties?? In the beginning a couple got 30 minutes for not finishing a challenge, but later people got only 10 minutes. Also, why don’t they take the penalty more often? Instead of trying something for 2 hours and then take the penalty, try it for 30 min - 1 hour and save 1 hour+!
