Chris on a bike! Coldplay star Martin shows off his cycling form as he goes for a ride in revealing shorts in Malibu

It is not every day you see Chris on a bike.

But Coldplay star Martin looked every inch the rugged outdoorsman as he went for a cycle around the posh Malibu area of California on Thursday.

The pop beefcake gave a passable Nicole Cooke impersonation as he pedalled away at speeds approaching the Speed Of Sound in the California celebrity enclave.

Chris, 39, was obviously taking his spin seriously, as he had donned a fetching helmet, pullover and neck warmer for his outing.

He also showcased his muscular cyclists legs in a pair of revealing blue shorts, though he kept his powerful calves under wraps by wearing socks that went up to just below his knee.

But it is not passersby seeing Chris going for a cycle who have been impressed by his athletic build in the past.

For his hunky frame bowled over Hollywood beauty Gwyneth Paltrow when they met in 2002, and they married just a year later.

They went on to have two children together - Apple, 12, and 10-year-old Moses.

Sadly they 'consciously uncoupled' in March 2014 after ten years of marriage, but Chris soon moved onto fresher pastures and has since dated fine fillies such as Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence and English actress Annabelle Wallis.

Chris, who is worth an estimated $90 million, is also famous for his energetic antics while performing with his Coldplay sidekicks.

And at his attention-seeking best at the iHeartRadio Music Festival held in Las Vegas last September, leaping into the air with gay abandon as he highlighted why he is regarded as one of the finest frontmen in the business.
