London is a leading global city, with strengths in the arts, commerce, education, entertainment, fashion, finance, healthcare, media, professional services, research and development, tourism and transport all contributing to its prominence. It is the world's leading financial centre alongside New York City and has the fifth-largest city GDP in the world (and the largest in Europe). London has been described as a world cultural capital. It was the world's most visited city during 2011 and London Heathrow is the world's busiest airport by number of international passengers. London's 43 universities form the largest concentration of higher education in Europe. In 2012 London will become the first city to host the modern Summer Olympic Games three times.
Demand Responsive Transport or Demand-Responsive Transit (DRT) or Demand Responsive Service or Dial-a-ride or Flexible Transport Services is "an advanced, user-oriented form of public transport characterised by flexible routing and scheduling of small/medium vehicles operating in shared-ride mode between pick-up and drop-off locations according to passengers needs". In many areas DRT is instead known as DART, or Dial-a-Ride Transit.
DRT systems provide a public transport service in rural areas or areas of low passenger demand, where a regular bus service may not be as viable. As such, DRT schemes for may be fully or partially funded by the local transit authority, as providers of socially necessary transport. As such, operators of DRT schemes may be selected by public tendering. Other schemes may be partially or fully self-funded as community centred not for profitsocial enterprises (such as a Community interest company in the UK).
DRT schemes may also be provided by private companies for commercial reasons; some conventional bus operating companies have set up DRT-style airport bus services, which compete with larger private hire airport shuttle companies.
If you're disabled and can't use public transport, try Dial-a-Ride. It's free, door-to-door, and great for getting out and about. Find out more on our websit...

London is an exciting and pulsating metropolis of the new millennium, a melting pot of both people and culture and a fascinating city of diverse contrasts.
The City Of London contains the Tower, an historic landmark with a remarkable history. A mighty medieval fortress with 13 towers that throughout its 900 years, has served many functions and from the Middle Ages, it was a heavily fortified prison.
After the medieval St. Paul's Cathedral was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1666, Christopher Wren was ordered to re-build it with a dome. During the 36 years of its construction, its design w

Walk or jog through numerous green spaces, among them Hyde Park and Green Park, in the center of London.
Continue your London sightseeing in the West End, where you’ll find ancient buildings converted into modern shops, restaurants, bars, and shows. You’ll find one of the largest theatre districts in the world here, and can take in a different play almost every night of the week.
For a real treat, climb aboard the London Eye, a giant, rotating Ferris wheel, and see the old and new parts of the city all at once.

Travel video about destination London in England.
During the 36 years of its construction, its design was frequently altered until finally a wonderful masterpiece of church architecture was created.
The Monument is the city's tallest freestanding stone column and a reminder of the Great Fire of London that destroyed 80 percent of the city. In four days, more than 13,000 buildings were destroyed and the Monument was built on the site of the bakery in which the fire began.
Since the reign of Queen Victoria, Buckingham Palace has served as London's royal residence. A garden of mulberry trees once grew on the site of today's palace and the Duke of Buckingham subsequently added a simple brick built residence. Around 60 years later, George II purchased the site for his wife and George IV eventually began to design an extensive palace complex.
The highlight of any holiday in London must be the largest Ferris wheel in the world, the London Eye. Situated on the banks of the Thames, it rises high into the sky, opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
The former centre of the largest empire in the world, London is still a city of superlatives that attracts millions of visitors each year. Exciting both day and night, London is a modern city with age old traditions and a long and colorful history.

Everyone knows London. The red double-deckers, the black taxis, the red phone booths, the red brick buildings, the guards with the bearskin fur caps are well known by even those, who have never been to the English capital. There are the legendary buildings: the clock-tower of the Parliament, the Big Ben, the Saint Paul Cathedral, the residence of the Queen, the Buckingham Palace, the Westminster, the Tower and the famous bridge, the Tower, the Waterloo and the London bridge are all known from the pages of history books and literary pieces. There are incredibly lots of things to see, there is the British Museum, the National Gallery, the Trafalgar Square, the Piccadilly Circus, the famous parks, the St. James and the Hyde, the rebuilt Globe Theatre, the Madame Tussaud’s, the Sherlock Holmes Museum, and the new pride of the city, the London Eye… Not to mention the busy cultural life, the theatres, the restaurants of the Soho and Covent Garden, and the uncountable number of pubs, where in the old days Shakespeare, Dickens or Churchill had their beers.

The sleepy residential suburb is conveniently located in South London and thanks to it's excellent transport links, it only takes 15 minutes to get here.
Clapham high street is a great place to buy some gifts, there's a wide range of varied and exciting shops to check out. I also visited the 24 hour market on Venn Street. It's a great place to pick up some locally grown vegetables and freshly baked goods.
Many travel to Clapham for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and if peace and quiet is what you're after then Clapham Common is the place for you. Anglo Saxons first settled on the common in 1887, now-a-days it's used purely for recreation and hosts many music festival.
Whether you're into football or dogging, there's something for everyone on the common.
Well I had a lovely day in Clapham and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

Here it is, our pilot episode!
Why am I doing this? I travel a lot. Too much. And recently I find myself rocking up in a city that I've never been to before and know very little about. On any level. Culture, language, transport, money, food, etc. But most travel shows are an hour-long, US-centric, full of bad information, and almost exclusively aimed at tourists. So I wanted to create something different. Something aimed at the frequent traveller, something portable and short-form. Something...useful.
In our pilot episode we get you in, out, and around the wonderful city of London, England. We tell you the best way to get from the airport into the city, the best way to get around, how much things cost, and why you should ALWAYS stand on the right.
In follow up episodes we'll be adding a food and drink segment, as well as tips on how to avoid those awkward social and business faux pas.
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch this and welcome any thoughts, feedback, ideas, and suggestions for future episodes. Travel is my passion and I'm excited to share it with you.
Oh and don't forget to subscribe for new episodes in a city near you!

Episode 9 – Soap Gets In Your Eyes
Airdate: March 18, 2007
Task sponsor: Dial Soap
Task: Each team was to create and direct a webisode soap opera featuring a new Soft Scrub bathroom cleaner. The best webisode as determined by Dial Soap executives would win the task.
Judges: Donald Trump; Ivanka Trump
Kinetic project manager: Kristine
Arrow project manager: James
Winning team: Arrow
Reason for win: While Arrow had a weak cliffhanger in their webisode, they nonetheless explained the product well, and Nicole's knowledge of soap operas served them well in structuring and editing the webisode.
Reward: A private flight via Blue Star Jets to Sacramento to meet California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for tea and to hear his story of his success at the California State Capitol.
Losing team: Kinetic
Reason for loss: The executives said that Kinetic had a great cliffhanger, storyline, and webisode. However, they couldn't get a lot of information about the product due to the dialogue (presented by Muna) in their webisode. Kinetic had to cut out some of the scenes entirely because it was too difficult to understand what Muna was saying about the product.
Sent to boardroom: No final boardroom – Muna asked Angela and Heidi to back her up and say that Kristine should be dismissed, but this backfired when both women said that Muna herself was both the weakest overall member of the team and the person most responsible for the loss. Trump therefore felt he had no choice but to fire Muna.
Fired: Muna – for implicating herself in the boardroom and for having inarticulate and incomprehensible dialogue in the team's final product. While Kristine was absent throughout the early part of making their product and could have made a much better judgement call by not using Muna's voice (which was plagued by her heavy Jamaican accent) for the webisode, it was deduced in the boardroom that Kristine was a stronger candidate overall.

World War Two
Record of a WW2 RAF Bomber Command mission over Nazi Germany from the planning to completion of bombing mission at night. Good overhead footage of ground and city below lit up from the aerial bombardment from the RAF aircraft. Good night footage showing flak around aircraft.
Text : Today the Navigator has many aids to navigation; each aid has its limitation and is dependant for its success on weather conditions, technical efficiency, range and freedom from enemy interference. A good navigator uses a combination of all the aids using each where it can give its maximum help. One of these aids however is fundamental to all navigation - MAP READING.
Text : Prangmere.
View of the inside of an aircraft hangar. Someone writes OPS on a blackboard. RAF briefing room. An officer briefs the R.A.F. men on the plans for a mission that night. The pilot is told he is going to take the wing commanders crew. A RAF crew member leans against a wall and lights a cigarette. Other crew members light pipes. The officer names the sergeants who will be flying the mission. View of the stationary aircraft that they will be flying. Close up of a propeller. A man walks along the wing another checks the propeller. On the other wing another man checks another propeller. The RAF sergeants relax before their mission. They read newspapers. They discuss the route their flight will take and study the map. One RAF sergeant says it should be a clear night - good for pin pointing. A man walks past the window and taps on the pane to remind them to put the black out curtain down. The sergeants return to studying the map. They discuss what landmarks they will be able to see in the moonlight. Canals and waterways should be visible. An Australian RAF man reminds his colleague that one they are over the sea he must do his bomb checks. Another says he will 'nip up front' when they are over the French coast to see if he can see anything. They agree to use the Rhine and German rivers to navigate. They check that they've got their target maps. The C.O. asks if there are any questions. They leave the room ready for their mission. The crew are transported to their bomber aeroplane by a van. They climb on board the plane. Interior shots of the bomber. They put on their gloves and headwear. The propellers start turning. Bomber aircraft taxi along the runway. An aircraft takes off. View of a pilot using the throttle. View of the air speed dial. The aircraft speeds up as it goes along the runway. The pilot pulls but on the stick and the aircraft takes off. The wheels are retracted. Navigator takes out his log book and a pencil. The pilot banks slightly. Close up of a dial showing angle of the banking aircraft. The pilot straightens the plane up so that it is horizontal with the horizon. The pilot talks to the navigator telling him what course to set. View of altimeter, they are at 2000 feet. Airspeed dial shows 165 miles per hour. They fly over the aerodrome and check their watches. Navigator makes an entry in his log book. Clouds float across the moon. View of the ground below the plane. Roads can be seen. The navigator turns his map upside down so it is easier to identify the roads he can see. He asks the 'skipper' to keep the air speed more constant. Navigator tells the pilot what co-ordinates to fly on. The pilot adjusts his course and checks his compass. Another member of the crew pin points the town of Peterborough and informs the navigator. The pilot adjusts his course and the aircraft slightly banks. They follow the canals below them and trace their progress on the map. Navigator checks where they are and gives the pilot new co-ordinates. Pilot adjusts their direction. View of aircraft flying. View of estuary. They pin point the headland as they fly over it and out above the English Channel. They check the time. The pilot comments that it is beginning to cloud over. Check the altimeter. Pilot says he is going 'upstairs' and the crew put their oxygen masks on. View of the plane flying, view of the crew with their masks on. View of clouds, view of propellers. They check the watch to keep an eye on the time. The co-pilot indicates to the pilot who nods. The co-pilot leave his seat and takes up position at a gun post at a window of the aircraft. There is too much cloud to see the ground clearly. View of the plane, the pilot, the moon and the wrist watch.

RealAir Beech Duke B60 Version 2, FTX EU Scotland. Solo hop Leuchars to Dundee.
The aircraft simulated here is the RealAir Beech Duke B60 Version 2.0. A flight, with aesthetic overtones. All Duke colour schemes are shown.
A short cross country, from Leuchars to Dundee, over FTX scenery, EU Scotland. Visiting St. Andrews, Crail, Tentsmuir Forrest, Tayport, Dundee, Perth (Scone), all in 30 minutes!
Its a solo flight with ATC by Radar Contact via M.C.E. as the voice interface with your controllers. For someone who is used to flying with a 1st officer, going solo is a pure joy. Having to dial those frequencies and fly is challenging exhilarating! Very good practice for those of you out there who forget what its like to use the column to maintain altitude in a turn, whilst tuning the radio! ;)
Full integration with the Reality XP Garmin's is available, thus adding a high level of simulator accuracy.
To those sim pilots who enjoyed the Duke in its early incarnation, this evolution makes it a formidable G.A. twin simulation. Now considered by some to be a "classic" aircraft.
The enhanced physics in the flight model are obvious. REX HD+ provides weather and Accufeel is on. Keep current with those stick, rudder and throttle skills, or challenge yourself to an IFR foggy landing at night in the rain!;)

A trip to London might as well be a trip through history. This city has long been a hub for finance, education, and culture, and is full of modern construction mixed with ancient buildings.
Your London tour must include St. Paul’s Cathedral, one of its most well-known churches. You’ll also want to see the Tower of London, the Palace of Westminster, and Westminster Abbey for exquisite examples of the city’s famous architectural landmarks. Walk or jog through numerous green spaces, among them Hyde Park and Green Park, in the center of London.

Travel video about destination London in England.

London Travel Video Guide • Great Destinations

The Apprentice US Season 6 - Episode 9
The Apprentice US Season 6 - Episode 9

Night Mission, 1940's - Film 8510
