Bethnal Green is a district of the East End of London, England and part of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, with the far northern parts falling within the London Borough of Hackney.[citation needed] Located 3.3 miles (5.3 km) northeast of Charing Cross, it was historically an agrarian hamlet in the ancient parish of Stepney, Middlesex. Following population increases caused by the expansion of London during the 18th century, it was split off as the parish of Bethnal Green in 1743, becoming part of the Metropolis in 1855 and the County of London in 1889. The parish became a metropolitan borough in 1900 and the population peaked in 1901, entering a period of steady decline which lasted until 1981. The economic history of Bethnal Green is characterised by a shift away from agricultural provision for the City of London to market gardening, weaving and light industry, which has now all but disappeared. The quality of the built environment had deteriorated by the turn of the 20th century and was radically reformed by the aerial bombardment of World War II and the subsequent social housing developments. 173 people were killed at a single incident at Bethnal Green tube station in 1943. Bethnal Green has formed part of Greater London since 1965.
Eraldo Bernocchi is an Italian musician, producer and sound designer.
Bernocchi's musical career started around 1977 at the age of 14, when Eraldo started playing guitar with independent punk bands. In short order though, he found that he felt the medium was too limited and he started moving towards experimental electronic-based music. In 1985, together with Paolo Bandera and Luca Di Giorgio, he created the audio conceptual project Sigillum S, an ongoing project that exists to this day. Concurrently between 1987 and 1992, Eraldo also worked as a general manager for tourism in the Far East for a leading wholesaler company. This position enabled him to travel frequently, bringing him in contact with other musical expressions and cultures, as well with eastern shamanic traditions. This had a deep influence on his future work. During this same period, Sigillum S also became an international cult act and Bernocchi started branching out into other musical ventures, such as (what was initially a solo project) Ashes.

New CCTV pictures appear to show three UK schoolgirls on the Turkish leg of what is believed to have been their journey to join Islamic State in Syria.
Shamima Begum and Amira Abase, 15, and Kadiza Sultana, 16, flew from London to Istanbul on 17 February.

They all have royal warrants due to their popularity with the royal family. Moving on to Covent Garden we take a look inside the London Transport Museum - home to over 370,000 objects concerning urban transport and London's wealth of transportation history. Using one of the oldest, and one of the most popular ways to get around London, Brianna takes the number 15 heritage bus through some top locations in central London. She also jumps on a bicycle and heads along the canal from Regent's Park all the way to the Olympic Stadium via Camden Lock.
Taking advantage of the wealth of transportation links in and out of London, Brianna heads out on a day trip by rail to one of the many historic towns which sit less than an hour's ride away. The following day Brianna takes a day-trip to Oxford, home to one of the most famous Universities in the world, and takes a tour of the largest of all the Oxford colleges Christchurch, with its awe inspiring architecture and beautiful surroundings. After checking out the markets and ascending to the top of Carfax Tower, we check out the most traditional way to see Oxford, via a punt and find out just how easy punting along the river is.
Back in London, and back on the river Thames, we check out Lambeth Palace opposite the Houses of Parliament and the Garden Museum next to it before speeding off down the river on a boat to Greenwich to check out the Royal Naval College, Queen's House, and the Royal Observatory. We then head over to the Tate Modern, a magnificent converted power station housing contemporary exhibitions of art dating from 1900 to today. After a day trip spent in Buckinghamshire visiting Cliveden House -- a stately home which sits on the Thames, we take a trip to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, home to the biggest botanical collection in the world before checking out the delights of 1,000 hectare area Richmond Park via horseback before rounding off the day in the Victoria Inn, famous for being the smallest pub in Richmond.
In her final day in London, Brianna rounds off the trip with a visit to the annual Thames Festival and hires one of the hundreds of rental bikes available to check out the festivities which include a feast on Southwark bridge, carnival style dancing, and a night time firework display.
Brianna Barnes visits Britain's exciting capital city which seamlessly blends its rich and varied history with a modern day culture which is perpetually evolving into the London of today. Beginning her tour at the iconic Buckingham Palace, home to the Queen of England and various Royal Family members, we see the changing of the guards before heading over to Soho for a spot of afternoon tea above a traditional London pub. Next Brianna heads over to the National Gallery, home to over 2,000 paintings and one of Europe's finest collections of art. Day two and our roving host heads to the East End to check out the fashionable Spitalfields Market and try out a British favorite dish 'Bangers & Mash' served at the nearby S&M; café. Brianna next takes a tour of London's street art and checks out some of the modern-day masterpieces by famous British street-artist Banksy and his contemporaries before heading to the Town Hall hotel in Bethnal Green which has stood since Edwardian times and boasts luxury suites costing up to £2,500 ($3,900) a night.

In this episode of city hacks London Syrus Lowe takes us on a culinary journey across London finding the best restaurants to get more from your meal. We start at Hurwundeki in East London, the nearest underground station is Bethnal Green which is on the central line. Hurwundeki is a unique London restaurant as it offers the finest Korean food & you can also get your hair cut there. We then get back on the tube and find ourselves at Circus restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden. The nearest tube station is Covent Garden which is on the Piccadilly line. Circus London offers a cabaret & dining experience you will never forget. Combining fire eating ballerinas with pan asian food this place is amazing. Our third London hot spot is Dans Le Noir in London's trendy Clarkenwell. The nearest tube station is Farringdon which is on the Metropolitan line, Hammersmith & City Line, Circle Line & the Thameslink Link. Dans Le Noir is a unique London experience in that you eat your meal in the dark & are served by blind serving staff. Our fourth top tip for London is Sarastro in Covent Garden. Once again the nearest London underground station is Covent Garden on the Piccadilly line. Sarastro is for lovers of opera and opulence & billed as the show after the show. At Sarastro the menu is Turkish oriented and broadly Mediterranean in style. Our final stop is at Inamo. Inamo is an Oriental fusion restaurant and bar where the control of the dining experience is placed firmly in your hands using their interactive ordering system. Diners place orders from an illustrated food and drinks menu projected on to their table surface. They set the mood, discover the local neighbourhood, and even order a taxi home. Inamo have two restaurants in London. One on Wardour Street in Soho, nearest tube station is Tottenham Court Road which is on the Central line & Northern line & the other on Lower Regent Street, nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus which is on the Piccadilly line.

Three British school girls have reportedly made them way from Turkey to Syria in order to join Islamic State’s cause. The trio sparked an international search to stop them from becoming teenage ‘jihadi brides.’ However, the Telegraph reported that intelligence sources in Turkey said Amira Abase, 15, Shamima Begum, 15, and Kadiza Sultana, 16, crossed into Syria on Friday by car and could be in the ISIS-run town of Tal Abyad. The three girls, all students at Bethnal Green Academy in London, reportedly flew from Gatwick to Istanbul on Tuesday during their half-term break. The Telegraph’s source said upon arriving in Istanbul, the girls were met by an ISIS member “charged with helping foreigners who want to join the group.” The trio stayed in Turkey two days before traveling to Syria, where the source claimed that a “a smuggler” would help the girls find their way into jihadist territory. It isn’t clear how girls decided to take the step to go to Syria to join ISIS, but at least one of the girls was reportedly in contact on Twitter with Aqsa Mahmood, who left Glasgow to join IS in November 2013 after becoming radicalized.

Syria girls CCTV shows UK teenagers at Istanbul bus station
New CCTV pictures appear to show three UK schoolgirls on the Turkish leg of what is believed to have been their journey to join Islamic State in Syria.
Shamima Begum and Amira Abase, 15, and Kadiza Sultana, 16, flew from London to Istanbul on 17 February.
The images show them waiting at Bayrampasa bus station later that day.
Scotland Yard believes the Bethnal Green Academy students are now in Syria. They are thought to have been met at the border by IS militants.
The BBC understands that the girls waited in the offices of two bus companies at the station, before taking a bus to Urfa, close to the Syrian border, on 18 February.
From there, they are thought to have been driven to a border crossing point by people smugglers.
Time codes on the CCTV images suggest the girls were at the bus station, which is on the European side of Istanbul, for nearly 18 hours.
The five images were taken between 20:27 local time (18:27 GMT) on 17 February and 13:22 (11:22 GMT) on 18 February.
They had flown from Gatwick to Turkey after telling their parents they were going out for the day.
The girls' families have made a number of emotional appeals for them to return home.
But sources have suggested the three girls, all described as "straight-A students" at their east London academy, entered Syria near the Kilis border crossing five or six days ago.
BBC correspondent James Reynolds in Gaziantep, south-east Turkey, has been told by a man claiming to be a people smuggler that the girls were driven to the Syrian border.
The man, who called himself Ali Kathem, said the teenagers then walked the few steps into Syria.
A group of waiting IS men "immediately picked them up with cars", he said.

Globe Trekker - London City Guide 3 with Brianna Barnes
Globe Trekker - London City Guide 3 with Brianna Barnes
Beginning the following day with breakfast at the famous Ritz Hotel, Brianna heads out into Mayfair to check out some of London's finest retail establishments such as Berry bros wine shop, Lobb the bootmakers, and Lock Hatters - the oldest hat-makers in London.
