Graduation Reel 2012 - Robert Joosten
In order to view this video in the best possible quality I've made the original 1080p .mov file available for download.
This video shows the work I have done during my graduation stage at the Game Architecture and Design course at the NHTV in Breda, Netherlands. The bones were created during the specialisation stage, Andrew Paquette and Nick Peters helped me creating the bones.
The graduation project had build upon the specialisation stage, to me it was a great challenge to explore the human anatomy even more. It was obvious from the beginning there was no way I would be able to finish the entire human body in only 20 weeks. Therefore I decided to focus on the head and neck area which I found most interesting.
During this project I had the change to improve my 3D modeling, sculpting, texturing, shader writing, lighting and render setup skills.
Credits:
Andrew Paquette - Digitizing of the skull + the creation of the normal maps for all the bones.
Nick Peters - 3D scan of the vertebrae, scapula and clavicle.
Music:
Ludovico Einaudi - Una Mattina

Agent 33 had an incredibly witty comeback for this one, but unfortunately his larynx was under the command of a far less gifted wordsmith. Some sort of play on the word "Sphincter." He forgot it when he woke up in the ER anyway.

Lighrynx (derived from light + larynx)
What if you could see sound pollution?? Lighrynx is an installation that visualizes the invisible beauty of which sound contains.
This installation translates the sound patterns created on a water surface, which is vibrating due to the audio signal received from the environment. This then, forms transient patterns that can be simply projected on a wall or a ceiling or even both!
When the signal exceeds a certain threshold the projected pattern illustrates an aggressive red form, indicating noise pollution. On the flip side if it detects a threshold below noise pollution, it illustrates a calm blue form.
