My heart goes out to his loved ones, I lost my dad to mental illness in 2021 and I still wake up screaming weekly from nightmares about it despite consistent therapy. Losing someone to suicide isn’t something I’d wish on anything, the only way I’ve gotten through it is with support from my family/friends, hopefully they can all come together and lean on each other.

I can’t even tell you how sad this makes me. Janelle’s kids all seem so great. He was a homeowner, just adopted a third cat, always looked happy. To know he was hurting so badly and that Gabe is the one who found him… the whole things just makes me more sad than I can even put into words.

My heart and my thoughts are with the grieving.

This news knocked the breath out of me. I am so shocked! I’ve watched the show since it premiered and the kids were the highlight of the show. Garrison had such a goofy and fun guy and seemed like a tender soul. How much pain must he have been in and how sad for everyone who loved him.

If you watched the show, you know he had a younger brother, Gabe close in age to him that we watched go through some really heartbreaking moments. Gabe was a sensitive and tender person and he was the one who found him. I am scared for him and I don’t know what to say or do but just hope and pray that everyone around Gabe is surrounding him and going to be there for him.

I felt like my heart dropped out of my chest when I saw this. I’ve watched Sister Wives from the beginning and this feels differently than any other celeb death… we really watched these kids grow up 😔

This really hurts because I felt like I grew up with Garrison watching him on tv. He was like the big brother I wished I had. What is worst is I don’t think he and Kody ever made up? I hope they don’t continue on with the show.

Wow. I’ve been a therapist for 25 years, yet suicide still mystifies me greatly. What a tragedy for any family-but my God Janelle and her other children, especially Gabe. I can’t imagine the trauma, pain, shock, and grief. This is devastating.

And I would be lying if I said that daggers of blame directed at Kody Brown didn’t fly out of my head at warp speed when I heard the news.

I don’t audibly gasp much-this news made me so just that. this is just so so sad and shocking. I don’t know much about the whole universe and all of the family dynamics but I saw clips from an episode where they were all at his new home and he seemed hopeful for the future. I’m so sad he didn’t find his peace and comfort while he was here and I know his entire family hurting.

I'm still in shock, definitely cried a bit. I've watched since the premiere and feel like I've watched them all grow up, it's been heartbreaking for these boys over the last few years but I still can't believe we've found ourselves here 😭 none of them will ever be the same, shows definitely over not that that matters at all but they will be missed. My heart completely breaks for Gabe and I hope he's being watched and cared for closely, I cannot imagine the pain of Janelle or Christine who raised all the older kids together while janelle worked, he really had two mamas, and for his siblings there are no words 😭😭😭 im just so so very sorry. I keep thinking there has to be a way it was a terrible accident, maybe he was cleaning it and it went off or something, there was no note (tmz) so maybe? 😭

I had to read the headline twice to gather my thoughts about this, when it hit me my mouth just gaped open for a good few minutes.

I've watched "Sister Wives" here and there and generally know what the story is...and having this happen after all of the events that have happened in front of and away from the camera? I can't even. There's so much here it's so, so sad.

Last night I decided to rent "Ordinary People" after watching Donald Sutherland's incredible performance in "Mr. Harrigan's Phone". I watched it several years ago and decided to revisit it. Well, I didn't watch it last night. I'm watching it now.
