Yeah! It’s also a few minutes from SoHo (South Howard) and Ybor which are the spots to go bar hoping or to clubs. UT is central to downtown Tampa & I’m sure she’s going to have the best time.
Also some more information about the history of the main building: “The University of Tampa (UT) is located in the former Tampa Bay Hotel, a Victorian railroad resort that operated from 1891–1932. The hotel was built by railroad magnate Henry B. Plant as one of eight hotels to anchor his rail line. The resort was considered a top winter destination in the United States and featured a quarter-mile-long main building, more than 500 rooms, a casino, race track, indoor pool, tennis, golf, and quail shooting.
During the Spanish American War it was headquarters for the troops going to Cuba and housed such visitors as Col. Theodore Roosevelt, Clara Barton, Richard Harding Davis and Gen. Nelson Miles.
Purchased by the City of Tampa in 1905, it has served as the main building of the Univ. of Tampa since 1933.”
