Star Wars (1977) .
Luke Skywalker joins forces with a Jedi Knight, a cocky pilot, a wookiee and two droids to save the galaxy from the Empire's world-destroying battle-station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the evil Darth Vader.

Here is my take on Star Wars Episode I-III condensed into a single cohesive movie. In this version, I've tried to make young Anakin less annoying, reduced Jar Jar Binks screen time and dialogue by 98%, sacrificed the podracing (sorry!), tried to make Anakin and Padme's relationship less creepy, and added a NEW vision sequence for Anakin as he contemplates joining the Dark Side in the Jedi Council Chambers.
This is my first attempt at doing anything like this, so please excuse any mistakes I've made. I truly love Star Wars and hope you enjoy my take on it too.

Created by Reddit user Zantanimus (a "re-re-cut" of the best parts of two fan-edits: "A Last Hope" by Jared Kaplan and "Turn to the Dark Side" by 'Double Digit').
Inspired by Topher Grace's Star Wars fan-edit, this is a re-cut of Star Wars episodes 1, 2, and 3 into a single, well-made film while removing the notoriously bad parts that characterizes the prequels. The idea for creating this "re-re-cut" of the two fan-edits came from a post by Twitter user disengenius: "I Have concluded BTW, it's best to watch #ALastHope until 1:15:02, then swap to #TurnToTheDarkSide from 1:19:59 (2:40 total). You're welcome."

This fan edit uses the "Anti-Cheese" edit by JeremyMWest-Esquire as it's base.
I created this fan edit with a couple things in mind.
- Cut overlong action scenes down for better timing/flow
- Remove any scenes that do not move the story forward in any meaningful way
- Reorder scenes for better pacing and story flow
- Add any deleted scenes that move the story forward.
- Remove Anakin being "whiny" and/or "rapey"
- Remove mentions of Anakin as the "chosen one" (this follows the rule of removing scenes not pertinent to moving the story forward)
- Attempt to enforce consistency with The Clone Wars animated series and the original Trilogy.
- Trim and edit scenes for better pacing in both action and dialogue.
While I used the Anti-Cheese edit as my base, I added Jar-Jar and Nute Gunray's voices back in. While I loved the idea of them having subtitles, I did this to maintain consistency with The Clone Wars animated series.

This is my Dark Side version of STAR WARS: The Old Republic movie series. Previously I have done a Light Side version using the Jedi Knight class. It covers the Jedi Knight class story + all the expansions up to Knights fo the Eternal Throne (as of today). In my Dark Side version, I will be using Sith Inquisitor class as many requested in the comments of my Light Side version. It will cover Sith Inquisitor class story + all expansions using Dark Side choices.
Episode 1 covers the entire Sith Inquisitor class/main story. Episode 2 will cover all expansion story arcs up until Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion. Knights of the Fallen Empire will be Episode 3 and Knights of the Eternal Throne will be Episode 4. My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.
I then created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration.

PRESS RELEASE: Star Wars Begins – 2nd February 2011
Filmmaker Jamie Benning has finally finished his trilogy of documentary-commentaries. This final chapter concentrates on the first Star Wars film. Like his two previous documentaries, Building Empire (2006) and Returning to Jedi (2007), Star Wars Begins is an unofficial look at the creation of the classic movie and features deleted scenes, alternate takes and different angles, bloopers, original on set audio recordings and a huge amount of commentary from cast and crew, culled from every corner of the galaxy.
What’s interesting about the format is that Benning’s documentary is feature-length, and follows the flow of the original movie itself with the deleted scenes added where they would have been, with interviews placed over the top of the action they’re describing. The overall effect is much more engrossing than a DVD commentary track and the wealth of material contained makes it well worth sitting through the entire runtime of 2hrs 18mins.
If you’ve never seen the deleted scenes of Jabba the Hutt or Biggs Darklighter on Tatooine, or heard David Prowse saying Vader’s dialogue, then you will get a real kick out of this. Many reviews and comments have centered on the fact that it’s like watching your favourite movie but from an entirely different perspective.
Benning has obviously invested rather a lot of time and effort into creating this film, and the other two parts of his own trilogy. Lets hope that on the forthcoming Blu-Ray box set LFL will go into as much detail and exude as much love for the subject matter as these films do.

If you’ve never seen the deleted scenes of Jabba the Hutt or Biggs Darklighter on Tatooine, or heard David Prowse saying Vader’s dialogue, then you will get a real kick out of this. Many reviews and comments have centered on the fact that it’s like watching your favourite movie but from an entirely different perspective. Benning has obviously invested rather a lot of time and effort into creating this film, and the other two parts of his own trilogy. Lets hope that on the forthcoming Blu-Ray box set LFL will go into as much detail and exude as much love for the subject matter as these films do. Konnichiwa. Here is my take on Star Wars Episode I-III condensed into a single cohesive movie. In this version, I've tried to make young Anakin less annoying, reduced Jar Jar Binks screen time and dialogue by 98%, sacrificed the podracing (sorry!), tried to make Anakin and Padme's relationship less creepy, and added a NEW vision sequence for Anakin as he contemplates joining the Dark Side in the Jedi Council Chambers. This is my first attempt at doing anything like this, so please excuse any mistakes I've made. I truly love Star Wars and hope you enjoy my take on it too. This is a visual effects breakdown of the sequence in "The Force Awakens" where Rey & Finn escape Jakku in the Millennium Falcon. The sequence was captured on the IMAX format, shooting in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Practical effects were used where possible, including explosions. This fan edit uses the "Anti-Cheese" edit by JeremyMWest-Esquire as it's base.
I created this fan edit with a couple things in mind.
- Cut overlong action scenes down for better timing/flow
- Remove any scenes that do not move the story forward in any meaningful way
- Reorder scenes for better pacing and story flow
- Add any deleted scenes that move the story forward.
- Remove Anakin being "whiny" and/or "rapey"
- Remove mentions of Anakin as the "chosen one" (this follows the rule of removing scenes not pertinent to moving the story forward)
- Attempt to enforce consistency with The Clone Wars animated series and the original Trilogy.
- Trim and edit scenes for better pacing in both action and dialogue.
While I used the Anti-Cheese edit as my base, I added Jar-Jar and Nute Gunray's voices back in. While I loved the idea of them having subtitles, I did this to maintain consistency with The Clone Wars animated series.

This is my Dark Side version of STAR WARS: The Old Republic movie series. Previously I have done a Light Side version using the Jedi Knight class. It covers the Jedi Knight class story + all the expansions up to Knights fo the Eternal Throne (as of today). In my Dark Side version, I will be using Sith Inquisitor class as many requested in the comments of my Light Side version. It will cover Sith Inquisitor class story + all expansions using Dark Side choices.
Episode 1 covers the entire Sith Inquisitor class/main story. Episode 2 will cover all expansion story arcs up until Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion. Knights of the Fallen Empire will be Episode 3 and Knights of the Eternal Throne will be Episode 4. My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.
I then created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration.

PRESS RELEASE: Star Wars Begins – 2nd February 2011
Filmmaker Jamie Benning has finally finished his trilogy of documentary-commentaries. This final chapter concentrates on the first Star Wars film. Like his two previous documentaries, Building Empire (2006) and Returning to Jedi (2007), Star Wars Begins is an unofficial look at the creation of the classic movie and features deleted scenes, alternate takes and different angles, bloopers, original on set audio recordings and a huge amount of commentary from cast and crew, culled from every corner of the galaxy.
What’s interesting about the format is that Benning’s documentary is feature-length, and follows the flow of the original movie itself with the deleted scenes added where they would have been, with interviews placed over the top of the action they’re describing. The overall effect is much more engrossing than a DVD commentary track and the wealth of material contained makes it well worth sitting through the entire runtime of 2hrs 18mins.
If you’ve never seen the deleted scenes of Jabba the Hutt or Biggs Darklighter on Tatooine, or heard David Prowse saying Vader’s dialogue, then you will get a real kick out of this. Many reviews and comments have centered on the fact that it’s like watching your favourite movie but from an entirely different perspective.
Benning has obviously invested rather a lot of time and effort into creating this film, and the other two parts of his own trilogy. Lets hope that on the forthcoming Blu-Ray box set LFL will go into as much detail and exude as much love for the subject matter as these films do.

In 1977, with the release of "Star Wars: A New Hope," Ben Burtt introduced a new lexicon of sounds into our aural vocabulary.
This video is a celebration of those iconic sounds that have been rattling around my head since childhood and that have since become ingrained in our collective pop culture psyche.
It is also a celebration of Ben Burtt's genius.

This is a visual effects breakdown of the sequence in "The Force Awakens" where Rey & Finn escape Jakku in the Millennium Falcon.
The sequence was captured on the IMAX format, shooting in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Practical effects were used where possible, including explosions. Once the Falcon takes flight and is pursued by TIE fighters, the vast majority of the sequence was achieved using CGI.

Not only is the universe incredibly iconic, so is it's title sequence (the famous title crawl). Designed by Dan Perri, the title sequence is one of the most recognizable introductions in the history of film. Growing up in the 90s where Star Wars was released on VHS, the franchise really sparked my imagination as a child. The Story:
In 2009, thousands of Internet users were asked to remake “Star Wars: A New Hope” into a fan film, 15 seconds at a time. Contributors were allowed to recreate scenes from Star Wars however they wanted. Within just a few months SWU grew into a wild success. The creativity that poured into the project was unimaginable.
SWU has been featured in documentaries, news features and conferences around the world for its unique appeal. In 2010 we won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media.

My friend Amanda had never seen a whole Star Wars film. When I asked her if she wanted to watch the original trilogy she said that she would, but that she already knew what happens. So I took out my voice recorder and asked her to start from the top.
I then created some very basic animation in Final Cut to go along with her narration.

PRESS RELEASE: Star Wars Begins – 2nd February 2011
Filmmaker Jamie Benning has finally finished his trilogy of documentary-commentaries. This final chapter concentrates on the first Star Wars film. Like his two previous documentaries, Building Empire (2006) and Returning to Jedi (2007), Star Wars Begins is an unofficial look at the creation of the classic movie and features deleted scenes, alternate takes and different angles, bloopers, original on set audio recordings and a huge amount of commentary from cast and crew, culled from every corner of the galaxy.
What’s interesting about the format is that Benning’s documentary is feature-length, and follows the flow of the original movie itself with the deleted scenes added where they would have been, with interviews placed over the top of the action they’re describing. The overall effect is much more engrossing than a DVD commentary track and the wealth of material contained makes it well worth sitting through the entire runtime of 2hrs 18mins.
If you’ve never seen the deleted scenes of Jabba the Hutt or Biggs Darklighter on Tatooine, or heard David Prowse saying Vader’s dialogue, then you will get a real kick out of this. Many reviews and comments have centered on the fact that it’s like watching your favourite movie but from an entirely different perspective.
Benning has obviously invested rather a lot of time and effort into creating this film, and the other two parts of his own trilogy. Lets hope that on the forthcoming Blu-Ray box set LFL will go into as much detail and exude as much love for the subject matter as these films do.

Star Wars is one of Hollywood's biggest franchises to date, containing one of the most unique universes in sci-fi fiction. Not only is the universe incredibly iconic, so is it's title sequence (the famous title crawl). Designed by Dan Perri, the title sequence is one of the most recognizable introductions in the history of film.
Growing up in the 90s where Star Wars was released on VHS, the franchise really sparked my imagination as a child. It not only let me exercise my imagination but also supplied me with some of the happiest memories as I watched it with my family. After re-watching "The Empire Strikes Back," I decided to use this as a chance to create a homage in the form of a title sequence. This would also serve as my senior "thesis" at SVA and took me the whole semester to complete.
The style and tone of the animation was inspired by the James Bond title sequences. The music was a rejected song from the newest Bond film, Spectre, sung by Radiohead. I really wanted to play on the concept of Luke trying to find himself and true purpose, so the music and inspiration felt fitting.

CHICAGO -- Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish was a three-time All-Star before undergoing Tommy John elbow reconstruction surgery on March 17, 2015. He is now an All-Star again in his first full season since the surgery. Darvish was selected to the American League pitching staff in the players' vote and will be going back to the All-Star Game for the first time since 2014....

It's a rare occurrence to see an Oregon high school football player earn five-star status on recruiting sites. Aloha running back Thomas Tyner (2013) and Hillsboro athlete Colt Lyerla (2011) both entered that discussion, but even they weren't unanimous five-star talents ... But despite that lofty status, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound prospect, out of Crescent Valley High School (Corvallis, Oregon), is still looking for a fifth star....

Sano told him they'd both be All-Stars this season, and sure enough his premonition proved correct, as they were both selected to the American League All-Star team to play at Marlins Park on July 11, as announced on Sunday night on ESPN ... "It's awesome, especially at such a young age to go to my first All-Star Game," Sano said ... "Even though it's a long time since I've been to the All-Star Game, I worked hard and never gave up....
