Star Wars is an American epic space opera franchise, centered on a film series created by George Lucas. It depicts the adventures of various characters "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away".
The first film in the series, Star Wars (later subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope), was released on May 25, 1977 by 20th Century Fox and became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon. It was followed by the similarly successful sequels The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983); these three films constitute the original Star Wars trilogy. A prequel trilogy was later released between 1999 and 2005, which received a more mixed reaction from critics and fans, compared to the original trilogy. All seven films were nominated for or won Academy Awards, and were commercial successes, with a combined box office revenue of $4.38 billion, making Star Wars the fourth highest-grossing film series. The series has spawned an extensive media franchise—the Star Wars expanded universe—including books, television series, computer and video games, and comic books, resulting in significant development of the series's fictional universe. Star Wars also holds a Guinness World Records title for the "Most successful film merchandising franchise." In 2012, the total value of the Star Wars franchise was estimated at USD $30.7 billion, including box-office receipts as well as profits from their video games and DVD sales.
Lucasfilm Animation Ltd. LLC was an animation studio founded in 2003. Its first major production was the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and its spin-off feature film. Following the acquisition of Lucasfilm by The Walt Disney Company, over 100 animation personnel at Big Rock Ranch were released with a minimum group retained to oversee outsource development on the animated series Star Wars: Rebels. LAL is currently headquartered in the LDAC campus in San Francisco, Ca. as a division of Disney and remains 'Lucasfilm Animation' in name only. The company was not involved in the production of the Star Wars LEGO shorts; the primary production company for Star Wars Rebels, CGCG, was one of those productions' main vendors.
Originally founded in 2004 in Singapore as a means to tap into the diverse global talent pool, Lucasfilm Animation Singapore (LAS) officially opened its doors in October 2005. LAS works closely with Lucasfilm Animation. Boasting an infrastructure that promotes efficient integration and creative collaboration, the LAS production schedule also includes contributions to projects from other Lucasfilm companies. While the largest of LAS’ production groups focused on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, in July 2006 LAS announced the creation of the Game Group and the Digital Artists Group (DAG). With difficulty in meeting the technical and aesthetic requirements of Clone Wars, LAS was ultimately removed from the production and released a number of employees.

"Strange Magic" is a song written and performed by the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). It was released on their 1975 Face the Music album.
Released as a single in 1976, the single was edited in the US, whereas in the UK the song appeared as the album cut minus the orchestral intro. The US single edit can be found on the remastered Face the Music released in September 2006. The song was also included on the band's 1978 The ELO EP. A remastered version was included on the box set Flashback in 2000. The 'weeping' guitar lick was provided by keyboardist Richard Tandy while Jeff Lynne played a 12-string acoustic guitar fed through a phase shifter.
The Clone Wars are a galaxy-wide conflict that forms a major part of George Lucas's space opera/science fiction franchise Star Wars. The conflict is first mentioned in the film Star Wars (1977), but no details are given (except for the implication of clones being involved) and the wars themselves are not featured until Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002), which shows the beginnings of the conflict, and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005), which shows its conclusion.
The 2D animated microseries Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003–2005) and 3D CGI animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008–2014) expand on the war and chronicle some of its major campaigns. Additional events and stories are detailed in a multimedia campaign that ran from 2002 to 2005, consisting of Star Wars literature and video games. Many of the events featured have parallels in history, politics, and mythology from which Lucas and other writers drew inspiration.
Within the Star Wars narrative, the Clone Wars begins when thousands of systems seceded from the Galactic Republic to form the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS). The first battle occurs on the CIS planet Geonosis, where the Republic's new clone army, led by Jedi generals, combats the Separatists' battle droids. War quickly spreads across the galaxy and eventually reaches the Republic's capital planet, Coruscant. The entire war is orchestrated by the Republic's chief executive, Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine, who uses the Clone Wars to manipulate the Republic's Galactic Senate into granting him emergency powers, which he then uses to turn the Republic into the Empire.

from the mind of George Lucas - the offical trailer for Strange Magic “Strange Magic,” a new animated film from Lucasfilm Ltd., is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by “A Midsummer Night's Dream.” Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion. Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic bring to life the fanciful forest turned upside down with world-class animation and visual effects. Directed by Gary Rydstrom (“Toy Story Toons: Hawaiian Vacation,” “Lifted”) from a story by George Lucas, “Strange Magic” will be released by Touchstone Pictures on Jan. 23, 2015.

Taken from the end of the 2008 DVD release of an animated atrocity known as Star Wars: The Clone Wars (the TV show was better than this), which to be fair, I was one of 68 million people to see it in the cinema. I do not own this material, it belongs to Lucasfilm, The Walt Disney Company (which I hope doesn't make a shitty sequel trilogy), and TimeWarner, no copyright infringement intended.
There's going to be TONS and TONS of people going "OH NO, ITS THE END OF STAR WARS!" Star Wars in the last 2-3 years has blown up and became really popular again, and if it's being bought by the company that owns Pixar and Marvel then nobody should have anything to worry about. I'm excited for three new movies. And I'm excited for the future of the greatest movie saga ever made.

A piece of very important animation news came out on August 24th on CartoonBrew.com, titled, “Judge Rules Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Sony, and Other Studios Can’t Evade Wage-Fixing Lawsuit.” What does this mean exactly? Basically, what’s been going on is that hollywood’s biggest animation studios have been conspiring together to fix the wages of their animators. Those studios include Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Blue Sky Studios, Sony Pictures Animation, Lucasfilm, and others. Wage fixing means that multiple competing companies will meet together and make an agreement to not recruit employees from each other by offering them better pay at one studio or another. This practice is illegal. So when did all of this even begin? Apparently it started way back in the 1980s, when Lucasfilm sold it...
