Ljubljana (Slovene: [ljuˈbljàːna];[luˈblàːna], also known by other alternative names) is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. During antiquity, it was the site of a Roman city called Emona. It was under Habsburg rule from the Middle Ages until the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918.
Situated at the middle of a trade route between the northern Adriatic Sea and the Danube region, it was the historical capital of Carniola, a Slovene-inhabited part of the Habsburg Monarchy, and it has been the cultural, educational, economic, political, and administrative center of independent Slovenia since 1991. Its central geographic location within Slovenia, transport connections, concentration of industry, scientific and research institutions and cultural tradition are contributing factors to its leading position.
Coordinates: 46°07′N 14°49′E / 46.117°N 14.817°E / 46.117; 14.817
Slovenia (i/sloʊˈviːniə, slə-, -njə/sloh-VEE-nee-ə; Slovene: Slovenija [slɔˈʋéːnija]), officially the Republic of Slovenia (Slovene: Republika Slovenija ,abbr.: RS), is a nation state in southern Central Europe, located at the crossroads of main European cultural and trade routes. It is bordered by Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Hungary to the northeast, Croatia to the south and southeast, and the Adriatic Sea to the southwest. It covers 20,273 square kilometers (7,827 sq mi) and has a population of 2.06 million. It is a parliamentary republic and a member of the United Nations, European Union, and NATO.The capital and largest city is Ljubljana.
The territory is mostly mountainous with a mainly continental climate, with the exception of the Slovene Littoral that has a sub-Mediterranean climate and the north-western area that has an Alpine climate. Additionally, the Dinaric Alps and the Pannonian Plain meet on the territory of Slovenia. The country, marked by a significant biological diversity, is one of the most water-rich in Europe, with a dense river network, a rich aquifer system, and significant karst underground watercourses. Over half of the territory is covered by forest. The human settlement of Slovenia is dispersed and uneven.
Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share. The organization has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses free of charge to the public. These licenses allow creators to communicate which rights they reserve, and which rights they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators. An easy-to-understand one-page explanation of rights, with associated visual symbols, explains the specifics of each Creative Commons license. Creative Commons licenses do not replace copyright, but are based upon it. They replace individual negotiations for specific rights between copyright owner (licensor) and licensee, which are necessary under an "all rights reserved" copyright management, with a "some rights reserved" management employing standardized licenses for re-use cases where no commercial compensation is sought by the copyright owner. The result is an agile, low-overhead and low-cost copyright-management regime, profiting both copyright owners and licensees. Wikipedia uses one of these licenses.
Ljubljana Castle (Slovene: Ljubljanski grad) is a castle complex standing on Castle Hill above the downtown of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is a key element of the Ljubljana skyline. Originally a Medieval fortress, probably built in the 11th century and rebuilt in the 12th century, it acquired its present outline with an almost complete overhaul in the 15th century, whereas the majority of the buildings date to the 16th and 17th centuries. At first a defense structure and since the first half of the 14th century the seat of the lords of Carniola, it was since the early 19th century used as a penitentiary, then in the first half of the 20th century as a residential complex and in the latest times as a tourist attraction and a major cultural venue.
According to archeological surveys, the area of the present castle has been settled continuously since 1200 BC, when the first settlements and later fortifications were built. The hill summit probably became a Roman army stronghold after fortifications were built in Illyrian and Celtic times.

Enjoy beautiful Ljubljana city spoted through the lense of Citiesin4k in autumn. It is the capital and the biggest city in Slovenia. The symbol of this city is the Ljubljana Dragon. You can find it on the top of the tower of the Ljubljana Castle and on the Ljubljanica crossing Dragon Bridge. The architecture of the city is a mix of different styles. The city center remains intact although at the city edges the appearance of large buildings grows. Due a large numbers of earthquakes the architecutre in Ljubljana changed after each rebuilding. Today there are leftovers from the last rebuilding in the Vienna Secession style mixed with Baroque remains. Watch the video Ljubljana in 4K and make your own picture of the city. Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport is the main Slovenian international airport, which accounts for 97% of total air traffic in Slovenia. Aerodrom Ljubljana is also an important stakeholder in the broader logistics services chain in the Alpe-Adria region. The location of the airport is ideal for developing air connections and activities related to the airline industry, as it is situated at the crossroads of traffic flows between the Pannonian Basin and the Po Valley, and the corridor from the Middle East to the European Union running through the Istanbul Strait. The airport is managed by Aerodrom Ljubljana, an environmentally and socially responsible company with more than 50 years of tradition. It has been owned by the German company Fraport since 2014. Geman language: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax7xRLVr9_M Slovenian language: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9shkzDsV6c Ljubljana, capitol of Slovenia, is unmistakably European, with a gentle whiff of a Mediterranean breeze. This city at the foot of a citade,l was always a melting pot for cultural, economic, and political diversity. It is an eagerly modern city, inching towards becoming a swank capital of the new Europe. The city's medieval character has been slightly modified by the modern architecture. The transition to the new political system was fortuitously peaceful. Named after the renowned Slovenian poet, the Preseren Square is still the lively pulsating heart and turning point in the historic part of town. Architecturally and historically most significant structures are...

Built on the top of Castle Hill, Ljubljana Castle looks out over the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia. The site on which the castle was constructed is known for findings of artifacts from the prehistoric Urn Tomb culture. The castle has been through various periods of reconstruction and contains elements of Baroque, Gothic, and Renaissance style architecture. During the Middle Ages, Ljubljana Castle functioned as a fortress because of its excellent vantage point over the city. Throughout the castle's lifespan, it has been a chapel, defensive base, prison, and destination. Ljubljana Castle is a dominating feature of the Ljubljana skyline and a br...

Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia. Ljubljana has a nickname Little Prague because it is a charming town full of artists, museums, galleries, restaurants and cafes. Prešeren Square, the central square in the city, formed in the 17th century, when the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation was built. At the eastern side of the square, the Statue of France Preseren, for the greatest poet in the nation, was erected. The Triple Bridge connects the square with the old medieval town. In this historical part of the city is situated St Nicholas's Cathedral, one of the most important churches in Slovenia. Also in the old town, but a bit away from the main tourist area, is the St James’s Church which houses beautiful altars. The seat of the City Municipality of Ljubljana, th...

Pour sauver la dé, sauver la démocratie
Moi pour les idées, j'suis doté
D'une tchatche en réalité
Qui incite à pas marcher au pas
Mais puisque l'Etat ballotté
S'adresse a moi je vais tenter
"Zeughma" de limiter les dégâts
Me voilà témoin d'un phénomène
Eminament vital
A quelques subventions vitales
Fini les pâtes, fini les frites aussi
Mais les prolos ne supportent pas bien
Les conditions royales
Y se fout de nous, on va le bouffer le rôti...
Pas besoin de sonder,
Pas besoin de sonder,...
Bilan, Bilan, Bilan !
