When Filipino shark fishermen throw back a half-ton catch, you know something strange happened. Bodoy Gorgod and four other fishermen from Punta Bilar found human remains inside a shark caught between the Bohol and Camiguin islands.
The men say a tiger shark took their bait around 10 p.m. on Wednesday. They pulled in the monster-fish which they estimate to have weighed over 600 pounds. But when they cut open the fish, they didn’t find it had a diet of plankton and krill. This shark had consumed a human!
The crew found a partially digested human head and leg inside the shark. Fearing they’d be cursed with bad luck, the crew dumped the fish (along with the remains) back into the ocean. Well most of it. The fishermen hacked off the shark’s fins and head to keep.
Judging by tooth and jaw size, Jake Miranda, an expert diver at the Surigao Dive Club, estimated the shark was around 1,200 pounds. Some speculate the shark’s dinner may have been one of the passengers on the Maharlika ferry that sunk in September.
This isn’t the first find of it’s kind. Back in 2010, Bahamian fishermen found human remains inside a tiger-shark’s stomach.

ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — A Florida funeral home was the first funeral home in the United States to use an "alkaline hydrolysis" unit in 2011.
The Resomator is a steel chamber that uses a solution of water and potassium hydroxide to dissolve bodies. The chamber is pressurized to 10 atmospheres and the temperature is cranked up to 180 degrees Celsius for between two-and-a-half to three hours as the remains are dissolved.
The resulting body liquid is pure enough to be disposed of in the sewer system, while the bones are crushed into ash. The BBC reports that tests have proved that the resulting liquid is sterile, contains no DNA and poses no environmental risks.
At the time the unit was installed at the Anderson-McQueen funeral home in St. Petersburg, proponents of the technology hoped that it would pave the way for additional units in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Legislators, however, remain divided about the new technology, and according to the BBC, the Resomator is still only allowed in a handful of states.
Resomation Ltd., the company that makes the Resomator, says its units are efficient and a green alternative to cremation, since each unit produces a third of the greenhouse gasses that cremation does.

HOUSTON, Texas – A pair of new homeowners found human remains in their recently purchased home, according to KPRC.
Police in Houston said the new homeowners were working in the attic Saturday when a floorboard gave way and they saw what appeared to be skeletal remains through the floor.
The homeowners called police who tore down a wall to get the bones and then confirmed the remains.
The remains are believed to be human, but the medical examiner is still looking into the case and a cause of death.
"I thought the house was empty this whole time,” said neighbor Mark Valadez. “I've never seen anyone in there until today."

It has no real beginning, no real end, only in-betweens. And the point at which you start watching it will determine what you think the story is. And, in much the same way that mass media can influence your emotions and feelings on a subject, so too are your emotions and feelings affected by the music.
Because the music and the animation are staggered, depending on when you start watching, different emotional cues will be pronounced. Each scene can play out differently depending on whether there is a crescendo, a soft melody, or a vocal paired with it. With each viewing the story can change entirely.
This is a human problem, and will take a human solution to solve it.

Julia Davis
Julia Charlotte L Davis (born 25 August 1966) is an English comedian, actress, writer, director, producer, and musician. She is known for writing and starring in the BBC Three comedy Nighty Night (2004–2005) and the sitcom Hunderby (2012), for which she won a BAFTA TV Award for best comedy writing. She also appeared as Dawn Sutcliffe in Gavin & Stacey (2007–2009). Her film roles include Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself (2002), Confetti (2006) and Four Lions (2010).
Early life
Born in Lambeth, Davis grew up in Guildford before moving at the age of 14 with her family to Bath, Somerset. After studying a degree in English and Drama at the College of Ripon and York St John, she returned to Bath and formed a double act with Jane Roth at a local theatre group. They then formed an improvisation troupe along with Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones.
Television
Davis' first break into television was as a regular cast member of Big Train. Her career was given a further boost in 1998 after she sent a tape of various characters to Steve Coogan, who invited to her to write and tour with him later that year. Davis has starred in many comedy television shows in the UK including I'm Alan Partridge, Big Train, Coming Soon, Brass Eye, Jam, Human Remains, Gavin & Stacey, I Am Not An Animal, Dr. Terrible's House of Horrible, Ideal, and Nathan Barley.

Human
Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens) are the only extant members of Hominina clade (or human clade), a branch of the taxonomical tribe Hominini belonging to the family of great apes. They are characterized by erect posture and bipedal locomotion, manual dexterity and increased tool use, and a general trend toward larger, more complex brains and societies.
Early hominins—particularly the australopithecines, whose brains and anatomy are in many ways more similar to ancestral non-human apes—are less often referred to as "human" than hominins of the genus Homo. Some of the latter used fire, occupied much of Eurasia, and gave rise to anatomically modern Homo sapiens in Africa about 200,000 years ago. They began to exhibit evidence of behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago, and migrated in successive waves to occupy all but the smallest, driest, and coldest lands.
The spread of humans and their large and increasing population has had a profound impact on large areas of the environment and millions of native species worldwide. Advantages that explain this evolutionary success include a relatively larger brain with a particularly well-developed neocortex, prefrontal cortex and temporal lobes, which enable high levels of abstract reasoning, language, problem solving, sociality, and culture through social learning. Rob Brydon
Robert Brydon Jones, MBE (born 3 May 1965), known as Rob Brydon, is a Welsh actor, comedian, radio and television presenter, singer and impressionist. He played Dr Paul Hamilton in the Australian/British comedy series Supernova, Bryn West in the sitcom Gavin and Stacey and Keith Barret in the BBC comedy series Marion and Geoff and its spin-off The Keith Barret Show.
He has appeared in a number of shows for the BBC with Steve Coogan such as The Trip series in 2010, released as a feature film later that year; and The Trip to Italy in 2014, also edited and released as a feature film.
Since 2009, Brydon has presented the BBC One comedy panel show Would I Lie to You?. He played himself in Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive, a satirical series about a fictional panel show, which ran on BBC Three from 2006 until 2007. Between 2010 and 2012, Brydon presented his own BBC Two late-night chat show called The Rob Brydon Show. Since April 2014, Brydon has hosted the Saturday-night game show The Guess List for BBC One.

Judging by tooth and jaw size, Jake Miranda, an expert diver at the Surigao Dive Club, estimated the shark was around 1,200 pounds. Some speculate the shark’s dinner may have been one of the passengers on the Maharlika ferry that sunk in September. This isn’t the first find of it’s kind. ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — A Florida funeral home was the first funeral home in the United States to use an "alkaline hydrolysis" unit in 2011. The Resomator is a steel chamber that uses a solution of water and potassium hydroxide to dissolve bodies. The chamber is pressurized to 10 atmospheres and the temperature is cranked up to 180 degrees Celsius for between two-and-a-half to three hours as the remains are dissolved. The resulting body liquid is pure enough to be disposed of in the sewer system, while the bones are crushed into ash. The BBC reports that tests have proved that the resulting liquid is sterile, contains no DNA and poses no environmental risks. At the time the unit was installed at the Anderson-McQueen funeral home in St. Petersburg, proponents of the technology hoped that it would pave the way for additional units in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Legislators, however, remain divided about the new technology, and according to the BBC, the Resomator is still only allowed in a handful of states. HOUSTON, Texas – A pair of new homeowners found human remains in their recently purchased home, according to KPRC. Police in Houston said the new homeowners were working in the attic Saturday when a floorboard gave way and they saw what appeared to be skeletal remains through the floor. The homeowners called police who tore down a wall to get the bones and then confirmed the remains. The remains are believed to be human, but the medical examiner is still looking into the case and a cause of death. "I thought the house was empty this whole time,” said neighbor Mark Valadez. “I've never seen anyone in there until today." -

And, in much the same way that mass media can influence your emotions and feelings on a subject, so too are your emotions and feelings affected by the music. Because the music and the animation are staggered, depending on when you start watching, different emotional cues will be pronounced. This was a video installation exhibited earlier in 2012. It consists of time lapse landscapes and city scenes, juxtaposed with animated space scenes. The idea was to illustrate a macro and micro existential journey. Time being subjective, i played with speeding up and slowing down scenes to create a montage of naturalistic and animated sequences, whose distortion through mirroring create identifiable environments which become accentuated through their manipulation. What is essential here is the idea that existence is reliant on all things, a universal reliance, i proposed to generate a personal understanding of existence through an external perspective of self, in that i mean universal elements that have formed our existence. In turn, telling a story through abstraction with easily recognisable elements.

When Filipino shark fishermen throw back a half-ton catch, you know something strange happened. Bodoy Gorgod and four other fishermen from Punta Bilar found human remains inside a shark caught between the Bohol and Camiguin islands. The men say a tiger shark took their bait around 10 p.m. on Wednesday. They pulled in the monster-fish which they estimate to have weighed over 600 pounds. When Filipino shark fishermen throw back a half-ton catch, you know something strange happened. Bodoy Gorgod and four other fishermen from Punta Bilar found human remains inside a shark caught between the Bohol and Camiguin islands.
The men say a tiger shark took their bait around 10 p.m. on Wednesday. They pulled in the monster-fish which they estimate to have weighed over 600 pounds. But when they cut open the fish, they didn’t find it had a diet of plankton and krill. This shark had consumed a human!
The crew found a partially digested human head and leg inside the shark. Fearing they’d be cursed with bad luck, the crew dumped the fish (along with the remains) back into the ocean. Well most of it. The fishermen hacked off the shark’s fins and head to keep.
Judging by tooth and jaw size, Jake Miranda, an expert diver at the Surigao Dive Club, estimated the shark was around 1,200 pounds. Some speculate the shark’s dinner may have been one of the passengers on the Maharlika ferry that sunk in September.
This isn’t the first find of it’s kind. Back in 2010, Bahamian fishermen found human remains inside a tiger-shark’s stomach.

ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — A Florida funeral home was the first funeral home in the United States to use an "alkaline hydrolysis" unit in 2011.
The Resomator is a steel chamber that uses a solution of water and potassium hydroxide to dissolve bodies. The chamber is pressurized to 10 atmospheres and the temperature is cranked up to 180 degrees Celsius for between two-and-a-half to three hours as the remains are dissolved.
The resulting body liquid is pure enough to be disposed of in the sewer system, while the bones are crushed into ash. The BBC reports that tests have proved that the resulting liquid is sterile, contains no DNA and poses no environmental risks.
At the time the unit was installed at the Anderson-McQueen funeral home in St. Petersburg, proponents of the technology hoped that it would pave the way for additional units in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Legislators, however, remain divided about the new technology, and according to the BBC, the Resomator is still only allowed in a handful of states.
Resomation Ltd., the company that makes the Resomator, says its units are efficient and a green alternative to cremation, since each unit produces a third of the greenhouse gasses that cremation does.

Police in Houston said the new homeowners were working in the attic Saturday when a floorboard gave way and they saw what appeared to be skeletal remains through the floor.

There is no story here, but for what you create while you watch it. And for every person that will be different. War is cyclical, and so is this piece. It has no real beginning, no real end, only in-betweens. And the point at which you start watching it will determine what you think the story is. And, in much the same way that mass media can influence your emotions and feelings on a subject, so too are your emotions and feelings affected by the music.
Because the music and the animation are staggered, depending on when you start watching, different emotional cues will be pronounced. Each scene can play out differently depending on whether there is a crescendo, a soft melody, or a vocal paired with it. With each viewing the story can change entirely.
This is a human problem, and will take a human solution to solve it.

This is a collaborative art piece undertaken by Mathieu Martel and John Ross. Displayed as a looping projection at the Starry Night art festival in Orillia, it is shown here in a different format than originally intended. Therefore, the original artist statement below doesn't coincide with the current way its being shown. However, the intent of the project still remains intact.

There is no story here, but for what you create while you watch it. And for every person that will be different. War is cyclical, and so is this piece. It has no real beginning, no real end, only in-betweens. And the point at which you start watching it will determine what you think the story is. And, in much the same way that mass media can influence your emotions and feelings on a subject, so too are your emotions and feelings affected by the music.
Because the music and the animation are staggered, depending on when you start watching, different emotional cues will be pronounced. Each scene can play out differently depending on whether there is a crescendo, a soft melody, or a vocal paired with it. With each viewing the story can change entirely.
This is a human problem, and will take a human solution to solve it.

Set in the universe of the The Last of Us by Naughty Dogs Games (PS3/PS4), ALL THAT REMAINS is a human drama that touches on the themes of selfishness, survival and false sense of protection.
When a mother tries to save her children in a false sense of protection, she is confronted by her community leader, bringing deeper issues and truths to light. Faced with a choice, she must decide beyond her own selfishness, what would be best for her children instead of herself. The events of ALL THAT REMAINS take place during the same time as the game. So as Joel and Ellie make their way across America, we are witness to the lives of a few others struggling to survive.

This was a video installation exhibited earlier in 2012. It consists of time lapse landscapes and city scenes, juxtaposed with animated space scenes. The idea was to illustrate a macro and micro existential journey. Time being subjective, i played with speeding up and slowing down scenes to create a montage of naturalistic and animated sequences, whose distortion through mirroring create identifiable environments which become accentuated through their manipulation. What is essential here is the idea that existence is reliant on all things, a universal reliance, i proposed to generate a personal understanding of existence through an external perspective of self, in that i mean universal elements that have formed our existence. In turn, telling a story through abstraction with easily recognisable elements.

The remnants of the past are still a significant part of the modern era. Our cultural institutions are the product of those who lived before us and of the societies they built.
For this project, I travelled to 14 cities in 4 countries filled with history: England, France, Italy and Spain. Each of these countries had a major influence in shaping the world in which we live in.
In Civilization: The Rise of Europe you will see the remains of the vast Roman Empire, the intertwined Muslim, Christian and Jewish cultures, the birthplace of the Age of Enlightenment, the European emblem of parliamentary democracy as well as many UNESCO World Heritage sites.
It is also those same countries that would eventually embark on a journey to the New World and build the foundations of America.
Civilization will make you travel in the past, but also in the present, to show you the enormous steps mankind has made throughout history. Hopefully it will give you awareness of our incredible cultural heritage.

A sociological investigation through architectural anomalies, on the relationship between mankind and the construction of its Habitat.
Each construction, was born with a precise function and lived consistently to it; in this relationship that justifies life: before and after, what remains is the soul of a place. Construction, abandoned by human being loses its function but retains the memory and those who attended recreate a new story, a different perception of space.
What remains is spread around a textile Colony built in the early fifties of the 20th century destroyed by a flood in 1952. Textile factories that were represented real social spaces for women's lives. This is strongly present in the rubble of what remains.
Un’indagine sociologica attraverso le anomalie architettoniche, sulla relazione tra l’essere umano e la costruzione dei suoi spazi vitali.
Ogni costruzione, nasce con una funzione precisa e viene vissuta coerentemente ad essa; dentro questo rapporto che la giustifica si svolge la vita: prima e dopo, quello che resta è l’anima di un luogo. La costruzione, abbandonata dall’essere umano, perde la sua funzione ma conserva la memoria e chi la frequenta ricrea una nuova storia, una diversa percezione dello spazio.

When Filipino shark fishermen throw back a half-ton catch, you know something strange happened. Bodoy Gorgod and four other fishermen from Punta Bilar found human remains inside a shark caught between the Bohol and Camiguin islands. The men say a tiger shark took their bait around 10 p.m. on Wednesday. They pulled in the monster-fish which they estimate to have weighed over 600 pounds. Dissolving body: How human remains are liquified for green burial in the Resomator - TomoNews
ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — A Florida funeral home was the first funeral home in the United States to use an "alkaline hydrolysis" unit in 2011. The Resomator is a steel chamber that uses a solution of water and potassium hydroxide to dissolve bodies. The chamber is pressurized to 10 atmospheres and the temperature is cranked up to 180 degrees Celsius for between two-and-a-half to three hours as the remains are dissolved. Human remains found in wall; woman who lived there has been missing for years
HOUSTON, Texas – A pair of new homeowners found human remains in their recently purchased home, according to KPRC. Police in Houston said the new homeowners were working in the attic Saturday when a floorboard gave way and they saw what appeared to be skeletal remains through the floor. The homeowners called police who tore down a wall to get the bones and then confirmed the remains. The remains are believed to be human, but the medical examiner is still looking into the case and a cause of death. "I thought the house was empty this whole time,” said neighbor Mark Valadez. “I've never seen anyone in there until today."

This was a video installation exhibited earlier in 2012. It consists of time lapse landscapes and city scenes, juxtaposed with animated space scenes. The idea was to illustrate a macro and micro existential journey. Time being subjective, i played with speeding up and slowing down scenes to create a montage of naturalistic and animated sequences, whose distortion through mirroring create identifiable environments which become accentuated through their manipulation. When Filipino shark fishermen throw back a half-ton catch, you know something strange happened. Bodoy Gorgod and four other fishermen from Punta Bilar found human remains inside a shark caught between the Bohol and Camiguin islands.
The men say a tiger shark took their bait around 10 p.m. on Wednesday. They pulled in the monster-fish which they estimate to have weighed over 600 pounds. But when they cut open the fish, they didn’t find it had a diet of plankton and krill. This shark had consumed a human!
The crew found a partially digested human head and leg inside the shark. Fearing they’d be cursed with bad luck, the crew dumped the fish (along with the remains) back into the ocean. Well most of it. The fishermen hacked off the shark’s fins and head to keep.
Judging by tooth and jaw size, Jake Miranda, an expert diver at the Surigao Dive Club, estimated the shark was around 1,200 pounds. Some speculate the shark’s dinner may have been one of the passengers on the Maharlika ferry that sunk in September.
This isn’t the first find of it’s kind. Back in 2010, Bahamian fishermen found human remains inside a tiger-shark’s stomach.

ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA — A Florida funeral home was the first funeral home in the United States to use an "alkaline hydrolysis" unit in 2011.
The Resomator is a steel chamber that uses a solution of water and potassium hydroxide to dissolve bodies. The chamber is pressurized to 10 atmospheres and the temperature is cranked up to 180 degrees Celsius for between two-and-a-half to three hours as the remains are dissolved.
The resulting body liquid is pure enough to be disposed of in the sewer system, while the bones are crushed into ash. The BBC reports that tests have proved that the resulting liquid is sterile, contains no DNA and poses no environmental risks.
At the time the unit was installed at the Anderson-McQueen funeral home in St. Petersburg, proponents of the technology hoped that it would pave the way for additional units in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Legislators, however, remain divided about the new technology, and according to the BBC, the Resomator is still only allowed in a handful of states.
Resomation Ltd., the company that makes the Resomator, says its units are efficient and a green alternative to cremation, since each unit produces a third of the greenhouse gasses that cremation does.

HOUSTON, Texas – A pair of new homeowners found human remains in their recently purchased home, according to KPRC.
Police in Houston said the new homeowners were working in the attic Saturday when a floorboard gave way and they saw what appeared to be skeletal remains through the floor.
The homeowners called police who tore down a wall to get the bones and then confirmed the remains.
The remains are believed to be human, but the medical examiner is still looking into the case and a cause of death.
"I thought the house was empty this whole time,” said neighbor Mark Valadez. “I've never seen anyone in there until today."

There is no story here, but for what you create while you watch it. And for every person that will be different. War is cyclical, and so is this piece. It has no real beginning, no real end, only in-betweens. And the point at which you start watching it will determine what you think the story is. And, in much the same way that mass media can influence your emotions and feelings on a subject, so too are your emotions and feelings affected by the music.
Because the music and the animation are staggered, depending on when you start watching, different emotional cues will be pronounced. Each scene can play out differently depending on whether there is a crescendo, a soft melody, or a vocal paired with it. With each viewing the story can change entirely.
This is a human problem, and will take a human solution to solve it.

When a mother tries to save her children in a false sense of protection, she is confronted by her community leader, bringing deeper issues and truths to light. Faced with a choice, she must decide beyond her own selfishness, what would be best for her children instead of herself. The events of ALL THAT REMAINS take place during the same time as the game. So as Joel and Ellie make their way across America, we are witness to the lives of a few others struggling to survive.

This was a video installation exhibited earlier in 2012. It consists of time lapse landscapes and city scenes, juxtaposed with animated space scenes. The idea was to illustrate a macro and micro existential journey. Time being subjective, i played with speeding up and slowing down scenes to create a montage of naturalistic and animated sequences, whose distortion through mirroring create identifiable environments which become accentuated through their manipulation. What is essential here is the idea that existence is reliant on all things, a universal reliance, i proposed to generate a personal understanding of existence through an external perspective of self, in that i mean universal elements that have formed our existence. In turn, telling a story through abstraction with easily recognisable elements.

The remnants of the past are still a significant part of the modern era. Our cultural institutions are the product of those who lived before us and of the societies they built.
For this project, I travelled to 14 cities in 4 countries filled with history: England, France, Italy and Spain. Each of these countries had a major influence in shaping the world in which we live in.
In Civilization: The Rise of Europe you will see the remains of the vast Roman Empire, the intertwined Muslim, Christian and Jewish cultures, the birthplace of the Age of Enlightenment, the European emblem of parliamentary democracy as well as many UNESCO World Heritage sites.
It is also those same countries that would eventually embark on a journey to the New World and build the foundations of America.
Civilization will make you travel in the past, but also in the present, to show you the enormous steps mankind has made throughout history. Hopefully it will give you awareness of our incredible cultural heritage.

A sociological investigation through architectural anomalies, on the relationship between mankind and the construction of its Habitat.
Each construction, was born with a precise function and lived consistently to it; in this relationship that justifies life: before and after, what remains is the soul of a place. Construction, abandoned by human being loses its function but retains the memory and those who attended recreate a new story, a different perception of space.
What remains is spread around a textile Colony built in the early fifties of the 20th century destroyed by a flood in 1952. Textile factories that were represented real social spaces for women's lives. This is strongly present in the rubble of what remains.

A sociological investigation through architectural anomalies, on the relationship between mankind and the construction of its Habitat.
Each construction, was born with a precise function and lived consistently to it; in this relationship that justifies life: before and after, what remains is the soul of a place. Construction, abandoned by human being loses its function but retains the memory and those who attended recreate a new story, a different perception of space.
What remains is spread around a textile Colony built in the early fifties of the 20th century destroyed by a flood in 1952. Textile factories that were represented real social spaces for women's lives. This is strongly present in the rubble of what remains.
