Memphis Style Rib Recipe | Memphis Dry Rub Ribs Recipe
Memphis ribs are some of my favorite ribs. Memphis style Ribs are simple, dry, a little spicy and delicious.
To cook these dry rub ribs yourself, you don’t need to much… just some baby back ribs (in Memphis it’s all about the baby backs – or loin back ribs as they are also called), you need some hickory wood and a paprika-based dry rub.
Before you can start cooking your Memphis Dry Rub Ribs, you need to fist get your baby back ribs and wash them, remove the membrane and get them ready to smoke.
After your ribs are ready, you give them a good dose of a dry rub. You don’t need a binder like mustard or oil to make your rub stick because we are going to let this rub sit on your ribs for several hours.

After you get your baby back ribs rubbed really good on both sides, you will put them back in the fridge for about 3.5 hours. At the 3.5 hour mark, you will need to get your smoker fired up and pull your ribs out so they can come up to room temp. You always want to make sure your ribs – or any meat you smoke – is at room temp before you place it on the smoker.
I like to cook my Memphis style baby back ribs at 250 degrees. I use a charcoal base to provide my heat source and then I throw in a couple pieces of hickory wood to give me that light, blue smoke I’m shooting for.
Once your smoker has stabilized and your baby back ribs are up to temp, it’s time to put the ribs on the smoker. With this method we don’t wrap our ribs, but we do give them a baste – starting at the 1.5 hour mark and then every 45 minutes – 1 hour after that.
If you keep your heat stable, the smoking process on these Memphis Style dry ribs is really simple. It takes around 4.5 hours to get them perfectly tender where they have a great snap without being over-cooked.
Once your Memphis style ribs have reached the tenderness you are looking for, it’s time for one last step to make these smoked ribs truly a Memphis-Style Rib… You need to give them one last dusting of a paprika-based Memphis dry rub on top right before you serve them.
These Memphis style dry rub ribs are some of the best eating ribs around. You would be proud to serve them to your friends and family.

In vertebrate anatomy, ribs (Latin: costae) are the long curved bones which form the rib cage. In most vertebrates, ribs surround the chest, enabling the lungs to expand and thus facilitate breathing by expanding the chest cavity. They serve to protect the lungs, heart, and other internal organs of the thorax. In some animals, especially snakes, ribs may provide support and protection for the entire body.
Humans have 24 ribs (12 pairs). The first seven sets of ribs, known as "true ribs", are directly attached to the sternum through the costal cartilage. Rib 1 is unique and harder to distinguish from other ribs. It is a short, flat, C-shaped bone. The vertebral attachment can be found just below the neck and the majority of this bone can be found above the level of the clavicle. Ribs 2 through 7 have a more traditional appearance. The following five sets are known as "false ribs", three of these sharing a common cartilaginous connection to the sternum, while the last two (eleventh and twelfth ribs) are termed floating ribs (costae fluitantes) or vertebral ribs. They are attached to the vertebrae only, and not to the sternum or cartilage coming off of the sternum. Some people are missing one of the two pairs of floating ribs, while others have a third pair. Rib removal is the surgical excision of ribs for therapeutic or cosmetic reasons.

Für ein Event in Mainz wurden 4 Rib Boote eingesetzt. Ca 170 Gäste kamen so nach und nach in den Genuß dieses Bootsabenteuers von Actionsafari.de. Man sieht die Vorbereitungen der Boote bis zu ihrem Einsatz am Mainzer Ufer. Bis zu 110 km/h wurden die Extrem Boote ausgefahren und die Gäste den Fliehkräften auf den speziellen Jockeysitzen ausgesetzt. Die Szenen wurden mit einer GoPro Sportkamera gefilmt, welche auf dem Mast des großen 600 PS Rib befestigt war. Einfach mal die Motoren anhören. Memphis Style Rib Recipe | Memphis Dry Rub Ribs Recipe
Memphis ribs are some of my favorite ribs. Memphis style Ribs are simple, dry, a little spicy and delicious.
To cook these dry rub ribs yourself, you don’t need to much… just some baby back ribs (in Memphis it’s all about the baby backs – or loin back ribs as they are also called), you need some hickory wood and a paprika-based dry rub.
Before you can start cooking your Memphis Dry Rub Ribs, you need to fist get your baby back ribs and wash them, remove the membrane and get them ready to smoke.
After your ribs are ready, you give them a good dose of a dry rub. You don’t need a binder like mustard or oil to make your rub stick because we are going to let this rub sit on your ribs for several hours.

After you get your baby back ribs rubbed really good on both sides, you will put them back in the fridge for about 3.5 hours. At the 3.5 hour mark, you will need to get your smoker fired up and pull your ribs out so they can come up to room temp. You always want to make sure your ribs – or any meat you smoke – is at room temp before you place it on the smoker.
I like to cook my Memphis style baby back ribs at 250 degrees. I use a charcoal base to provide my heat source and then I throw in a couple pieces of hickory wood to give me that light, blue smoke I’m shooting for.
Once your smoker has stabilized and your baby back ribs are up to temp, it’s time to put the ribs on the smoker. With this method we don’t wrap our ribs, but we do give them a baste – starting at the 1.5 hour mark and then every 45 minutes – 1 hour after that.
If you keep your heat stable, the smoking process on these Memphis Style dry ribs is really simple. It takes around 4.5 hours to get them perfectly tender where they have a great snap without being over-cooked.
Once your Memphis style ribs have reached the tenderness you are looking for, it’s time for one last step to make these smoked ribs truly a Memphis-Style Rib… You need to give them one last dusting of a paprika-based Memphis dry rub on top right before you serve them.
These Memphis style dry rub ribs are some of the best eating ribs around. You would be proud to serve them to your friends and family.

Miniature Barbecue Rib Bones - BBQ Polymer Clay Tutorial
Hi guys! Today we're making a slab of miniature bbq rib bones. I don't know if everyone calls or counts rib pieces by the bones, but down here in the south that's what we say when you're getting some of the rib, but definitely not the whole slab, lol.
Anyways, I had my shop set to vacation mode, and I wasn't going to open it back up until I had at least 100-200 items in stock for you guys to choose from because I know Etsy stores with like 10-20 items don't get many hits. But Etsy sent me an email saying that they updated the site, and my current shop description and shop policy etc would be deleted if I didn't update it by a certain date so I had to open it back up just to re-save everything, and make a copy of it in case they still delete it anyway. So while I was unable to close it I received an order for this, and thought I'd make a tutorial on it. My ribs are pretty popular sellers especially every summer. So if any of you are interested in buying one my Etsy will be open for a few more days until these orders reach their new owners. Link to my Etsy down below.

Of course, this one is a bit thicker than the knitted hat. This hat comes out very nice and it is very thick and warm. It would make a perfect Christmas gift. Rib Cage and Thoracic Spine: How Stress Kills, Scoliosis prevention and more!
The thoracic spine and rib cage are critical in maintaining proper respiration, organ function and protection. People often wonder how stress actually kills and I reveal it here.
Here's a teaser: When I taught gross anatomy, I could always tell which cadavers had heart attack as at least part of their cause of death. It involves severe rotation of the thoracic spine which is induced by stress. In order to correct this rotation, the left trapezius muscle in the neck pulls on the transverse processes of the upper thoracic spine (The top 4 vertebrae innervate the heart by the way). The constant tug of war between the stress pulling the vertebrae one way while the muscle tries to pull it back in alignment ultimately results in an sympathetic impulse sent down to the heart which causes a ventricular fibrillation AKA a heart attack.
Scoliosis is also something that can effect the organ systems of the body. The human spine, when seen from the front or back, should be in a straight line. Whenever there is a shift to the side of the spine of a significant degree it is called scoliosis.
We discuss how to determine the minimum improvement a person can get through the use of bending Xrays. If someone has a curve with the convexity on their left side, we have them bend to their left to determine if it is able to be reduced. If the curve does straighten out to any degree, that means that we can help "straighten that scoliosis" through proper chiropractic adjustments. The key is to work with the body.
The body is smart, and the phasic muscles along the convexity of a curve well be tight as they try to pull on the spine to straighten it out on it's own. We simply help it do what it naturally wants to do.
