1949年，中華人民共和國成立。多少人以為：這是百多年來愛國志士的犧牲換來的成果，中華民族從此走上民主、自由、繁榮、富強的康莊大道。有誰料到，從那時起，政治鬥爭運動連綿不絕，接二連三經濟錯失，人禍橫流，赤地千里。中華民族的苦難，更為深重。人民經歷三反五反、鎮反肅反、鳴放、反右運動、大饑荒、文化大革命、四五天安門事件，及後毛澤東逝世，四人幫垮台，文革結束，民間出現《北京之春》民刊運動。其後鄧小平復出，提出改革開放政策。豈料，中共只是在經濟上實行改革開放，政治上卻仍舊堅持獨裁專制。開放改革帶來貪污腐敗、道德墮落、貧富懸殊、民怨沸騰，終於爆發「八六學潮」以及八九年由胡耀邦逝世引發的愛國民主運動，提出反腐敗、反官倒的要求，但最後演變成人民被屠殺的「六四」悲劇。「六四」屠殺後，江澤民上台，經濟改革停頓，直至鄧小平92年南巡，重新推動經濟改革。但只是發展經濟，沒有開放黨禁及推行體制的民主改革，加劇了貪污腐敗、貧富懸殊等社會問題。過去二十年，民間聲音此伏彼起，又隨著社會問題愈來愈嚴重，出現血煤、非法徵地、太石村事件、《南方都市報》案、《冰點》事件、食品安全、四川豆腐渣工程和《零八憲章》等，維權運動如雨後春筍的蓬勃發展。但維護人民權益的人士和律師，屢遭打壓。就讓我們回顧中共建政至今，中國人民的血淚史和民間抗爭情況。
