Paul Ryan Chris Wallace Repeal Obamacare 'That's Not Gonna Happen' Fox News Sunday
Paul Ryan Repeal Obamacare Fox News Sunday Chris Wallace. repeal of Obamacare? Chris Wallace grilled Paul Ryan (R-WI) on his positon on Obamacare and its relation to Medicaid. Ryan told Wallace that he still hopes to see Obamacare repealed due to its impact on other medical entitlements. Ryan told Wallace that Obamacare has led to all kind of problems for states by impacting Medicaid and that states need to be allowed to tailor the program more appropriately on a case-by-case basis. Wallace challenged Ryan on his proposed cut of $770 billion dollars and its potential impact on delivery of the program. Ryan said they can do it because it hasn't been implemented yet.
"These are increases that have not come yet. By repealing Obamacare and the Medicaid expansions that haven't occurred yet, we're basically preventing an explosion of a program that is already failing. So we're saying don't grow this program through Obamacare because it doesn't work," he said.
Ryan explained various state programs that have been impacted by Obamacare prompting Wallace to challenge him on the possiblity of repeal.
"Are you saying that as part of your budget you assume the repeal of Obamacare?" asked Wallace.
"Yes," answered Ryan.
"Well that's not gonna happen," said Wallace.
"Well, we believe it should. That's the point. This is what budgeting is all about. It's about making tough choices to solve our country's problems," said Ryan.
Ryan then explained that he thinks Obamacare puts Medicare under the control of a "rationing board."

Jon Stewart Rips Chris Wallace, Fox News
It's been two weeks since Jon Stewart went on Chris Wallace's Fox News show for one of his most highly anticipated interviews and both hosts are still continuing to effuse.
In his first post-interview show Stewart claimed that Wallace's program was biased in their editing of the footage, which Chris Wallace later denied. On the following program, Stewart called out the entire Fox News network on their poorly checked facts as exposed by fact-checking organization Politifact.
After this, Stewart expected Wallace to apologize, but instead Wallace chose to defend himself by clarifying a point he made during the Stewart interview, that Fox represented the "other side of the story" in relation to MSNBC's coverage. He said he meant to say "the full story" instead. Stewart was appalled at the retraction:
"That's your 'setting the record straight'? 'I accidentally told the truth and now I wish I could take it back'?"
As you'll see in the video below, this back-and-forth launches Stewart into what can only be described as a paranoid frenzy involving two large binders of Fox News transcripts. The futile argument also leads to one of Stewart's most concise and no-holds-barred depictions of Fox News: that to Fox, any editorial view that doesn't favor conservatism is elitist, but favoring conservatism is justified because it needs to be protected against liberal biases. And if you question this logic, it only proves how right they are.
"That narrative of conservative victimization is the true genius of what Fox News has accomplished," Stewart said.

Fox News Mocks 102-Year Old Voter
"Desiline Victor, a 102-year old woman, received a standing ovation during the State of the Union on Tuesday for her resolve to vote. Fox News hosts Brian Kilmeade, Martha MacCallum and Bill Hemmer, however, wondered what the "big deal" was.
Victor made two trips and waited three hours to vote in Miami in November. President Obama spoke about the need to protect voting rights during his State of the Union address on Tuesday, and pointed to Victor, who was there as a guest of Michelle Obama, as an example."*
Desiline Victor, a 102-year old woman, waited 3 hours in line to vote in the 2012 elections. So obviously, Fox News made childishly made fun of her. Cenk Uygur has the clownish details.

Rand Paul: Country Is Ready For A "Libertarian Republican Narrative" - Fox News Sunday 2/17/2013
"I would absolutely not run unless it were to win. You know, points have been made and we'll continue to make points, but I think the country really is ready for the narrative coming, libertarian Republican narrative, also because we have been losing as a national party. We are doing fine in congressional seats but we're becoming less and less of a national party because we don't win on the West Coast, we don't win in New England. We really struggled all around the Great Lakes.
I think people want a party that's a little bit less aggressive on foreign policy, still believes in a strong national defense but less aggressive. They want -- the young people want politicians who don't want to put them in jail for 20 years for a nonviolent drug possession charge. So, they want a little bit different face. I think people want a little different face on immigration frankly. They don't want somebody who wants to round people up, put them in camps and send them back to Mexico."

Fox News: Al Jazeera is a Sleeper Cell Plot!
"In a typical fair and balanced panel, Fox News warned on Wednesday that Al Jazeera is set to "infiltrate" the United States amid dire warnings about "sleeper cells" in the Muslim suburbs of Detroit.
Host Megyn Kelly began a segment about Al Jazeera's expansion into the American television market by raising questions about the network's "real anti-American bias."*
Fox News' hosts Megyn Kelly and Michelle Malkin are following the company memo: scare viewers about Al Jazeera. So now, they're claiming the network is "terror TV" and a sleeper cell plot? Or is the network a threat to their brand of non-journalism? And should they really be scared of "Arab infiltrators" given who their owner is? Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Why Fox News Is Losing Its Audience
"There was good news and bad news for Fox News in the February cable news ratings.
The good news? Fox News once again had the top 13 programs — much better than January, where it failed to sweep the top 10 for the first time in years and had its lowest ratings in the all-important A25-54 demo since 2001. "Special Report" also celebrated 50 months as the top-rated show in its hour."*
Fox News darlings Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly saw big slides in their demographics. It's not just that their audience demographic is considerably older than other channels- how did Fox alienate their base? Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

Does Fox News Want to Use Rand Paul for GOP Interests?
"Charles Krauthammer says Sen. Rand Paul's filibustering was a "genius" political move.
"It was genius," Krauthammer, the conservative columnist and commentator, said on Fox News on Thursday. "Look, I would call it a stunt except for the fact that he was entirely sincere and he was entirely right. I mean, after all, how many Americans are there who believe that the president, if he doesn't like the cut of your jib or thinks you might be a little treasonous has the right to launch a drone-launched missile through your dining room, when you're sitting down to a pot roast with your family?"*
Rand Paul came off as a hero to Sean Hannity and Charles Krauthammer after his Brennan filibuster. Now it seems they want him to be the new GOP darling. Would he eschew his libertarian values to play ball with the neo-cons? Cenk Uygur, Ben Mankiewicz, and John Iadarola break it down.

Fox News Panel Clashes Over Who Sold More Access To The White House, Obama Or Bush
2/26/13 - A panel discussion on Fox News Channel regarding the news that President Barack Obama's former campaign outfit has been selling access to the White House resulted in a rare bipartisan agreement on Tuesday. Both a Republican political operative and a Democratic operative, who had previously worked for Obama's campaign, agreed that the appearance of unethical behavior by the president's campaign organization was overwhelming. However, the panel blew up when they debated if President George W. Bush was equally as guilty of selling political influence while he was in the White House. Anchor Megyn Kelly played a clip of White House Press Sec. Jay Carney being grilled by members of the press corps over allegations that Obama's repurposed campaign organization is engaging in the trading of access to the president in exchange for financial donations.
"Now we have the New York Times reporting, if you cut this group a check of $500,000 or more, you will get four meetings with the president," Kelly said. She asked if this arrangement contradicts the president's stated goals of political reform and, potentially, if it violates codes of ethical conduct.
"The optics don't look good," replied former Obama campaign consultant Marjorie Clifton. "Money does talk in Washington regardless of what party you're in."
She said that industrialists like the Koch brothers were able to secure time with Mitt Romney during the 2012 presidential campaign, just as Hollywood media moguls could use their financial largess to be granted meetings with the president.
"We see this on both sides of the aisle," Clifton said. "It absolutely doesn't look good to have the president speaking openly about this very issue and then seeing this, kind of, unfolding in the way it is. But, unfortunately, it's business as usual."
Kelly asked former advisor to President Bush, Brad Blakeman, what the reaction would be if the Bush administration had been guilty of selling access to the president via a repurposed campaign operation. Blakeman replied that it would be a national scandal and the Department of Justice would be looking into it.
"This is immoral. It's unethical. It's illegal," Blakeman said. He said that this is such a self-evident example of corruption that even left-leaning groups like Common Cause have come out against it. "It's exactly what you would expect out of a Chicago, political hack machine," Blakeman added.
The panel became heated when Clifton said that Bush had sold access in the form of soliciting donations for his presidential library. Blakeman countered that the incident in question occurred after Bush was out of office.
Kelly concluded the segment by noting that President Obama came out against this practice while he was a senator prior to 2009. Clifton agreed, and said that this incident underscores the need for campaign finance reform.

Obama's Uncle Calls the Cops on Fox News
President Obama's uncle, Onyanga Obama, has been living in the U.S. for 43 years ... illegally. Then, in 2011, he was arrested for a DUI ... and while some may have thought that such an arrest would spark a deportation notice, still nothing happened. Onyanga Obama does have a deportation hearing set for next December, and he's currently running a liquor store in Framingham, New York. That's where Bill O'Reilly sent correspondent Jesse Watters to (try to) talk to him about whether or not he believes he deserves citizenship.
He didn't exactly have the best reaction to Watters' arrival.
"You can drop from heaven or hell. Seriously, out," he at one point shouted at Watters.
Watch the full interview below, and hear more of what an ICE agent told Watters about what would be done to any other illegal immigrant convicted of a DUI.

Karl Rove Causes Fox News Chaos By Challenging Obama Victory Projection
After Fox News called the election in favor of President Barack Obama, Fox contributor Karl Rove challenged their decision to give Ohio to the president, causing chaos on-air as hosts Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly scrambled to refute Rove's reluctance to believe the Fox News "decision desk's" call in favor of Obama.
"We have got to be careful about calling things when we have like 991 votes separating the two candidates and a quarter of the vote yet to count," Rove warned the Fox anchors, much to their dismay. "Even if they have made it on the basis of select precincts, I would be very careful about intruding in this process."
After a brief pause, Baier, Kelly and Chris Wallace joked about how "awkward" Rove has just made the entire situation, with Baier deadpanning: "It's great to have you guys here."

Fox News hosts Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly report that the Fox News team has called the state of Ohio for Barack Obama, realistically nullifying the opportunity for Mitt Romney to become President of the United States. There is initial confusion as the calling of Ohio essentially also decides the winner of the 2012 Presidential Election. Reactions from the crowd in Chicago, along with commentary from Juan Williams, Brit Hume, and others.
