Gujarat poll vote projection: Modi lords over the state
For more than a decade, politics in Gujarat has been synonymous with Narendra Modi. With the Assembly elections due in a few weeks, the scenario seems to no different. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) strongman, who has ruled Gujarat with an iron hand since October 2001, has swatted all opposition with such ruthlessness that today there is no virtually no leader in the state capable of challenging him.
Modi has steamrolled the opposition, which is primarily the Congress, to win two back-to-back Assembly elections and 2012 looks no different. According to a pre-poll survey conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) for CNN-IBN, Modi-led BJP is once again set to decimate the Congress and romp home with a thumping majority. The survey interviewed 3658 voters in Gujarat and found that almost 50 per cent of them were in favour of the BJP, while the Congress was way behind with just 36 per cent.

Dr Subramanian Swamy talks on CNN-IBN debate - Will Chopper Scam become another Bofors?
Dr Swamy explains how this case can be processed in legal way where he says that FIR has to be filed by CBI which is already carried out by them. Then CBI ought to have letter of Rogatory ((letter of request is a formal request from a court to a foreign court for some type of judicial assistance) from Supreme Court in Delhi which they haven't done but Swamy expects it will be done tomorrow. There are other 3 important documents required in the case which consist of 568 pages Italian investigation report filed with the court in Milan. Secondly 100 pages report which is leading to the arrest of the CEO of Finmachanica, & thirdly telephone intercepts of conversation between Indian & Italian heads involved in the deal.
Dr Swamy says that once you reach the bottom of this case it will be clear that my allegations are true which I made on social media.
Dr. Swamy also says that this case is not end like Bofors scam. In this scam Not only Sonia Gandhi but her Two Italian sisters are also involved. Dr Swamy says I am making these allegations against Sonia Gandhi and her sisters and I will stand and prove them. Congress left no areas where they have not done corruption.
Most importantly Dr Swamy talks about Swadeshi angle of this case, where India is capably produced helicopters like "Dhruv" which can fly upto 20, 000 ft which are kept in cold storage (not in use).

We are targeting corruption, not Cong: Kejriwal on Vadra
Justifying his allegations against Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra in the real estate controversy, civil society activist-turned politician Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that his party was targeting corruption and not the Congress by putting the facts in public domain.
"We have just put some facts in public domain. Robert Vadra can reply to the charges levelled against him. Why can't Vadra speak himself, why is Congress defending him?" he said while speaking to Karan Thapar on Devil's Advocate.

Dr Subramanian Swamy in CNN-IBN debate about collusion of CBI with 2G Accused
One of the high profile case 2G Scam (collusion) has taken U turn after audio tape disclosed by CNN IBN, as many ministers, bureaucrats , business man are involved & Subramanian Swamy is optimistic about the U-turn in 2G case.
As CBI preliminary report also names UNITECH MD Sanjay Chandra as CBI prosecutors aided accused. As a result suspected CBI own prosecutor A K Singh removed from the case. This U-turn in case creates question on integrity of CBI's legal system.
On the other hand Dr Swamy thinks this U-turn in case given a huge boost to go ahead with speed and It will improve prosecution situation than actually case being distracted. Dr Swamy also states that in such big cases involving politicians & business man, we must follow to American model where independent public prosecutor who has full access to the case & right to question anyone involved in such cases.

Lt. Col. DPK Pillay- An Extraordinary Tale of Courage, Bravery & Patriotism
Another Tale of Courage - Colonel DPK Pillay is a brave heart in every sense !!
Meet a soldier who took four bullets in his arm in a pitched battle with insurgents and saved the life of two critically injured children in Manipur. Eighteen years since the incident, Colonel DPK Pillay still shares a close bond with the people of the Manipuri village. Colonel Pillay recalls that fateful day in Longdaipabram village, which is 22 kms from the district Headquarters Tamelong in Manipur. "The militants were inside the room and rather than allowing them to pick and choose and fire us at will I had to intervene. I had to enter the room. I broke the door open and I got a burst of AK-47. The first burst came on my shoulder. I got three burst here and that guy corrected himself and he got a shot on my chest. One of them hurl a grenade, I don't know how I saw the grenade in the darkness but instantly I kicked the grenade and the grenade blew on my leg, taking a portion of my leg away," he says.
This could have been every soldier's tale. But what he did next is what has brought him here today. Although wounded mortally in the gun fight, Colonel Pillay decided to evacuate and save the two children hit in the crossfire instead of his own. "The nearest hospital was about 6 hours. There's no way the children would have survived. I think I knew that I had 5 minutes of life left in me and I can hang on extra bit. So I told the pilot not to worry about me," he says. The village has not forgotten his act of kindness. The entire village has gathered to show their gratitude to Colonel Pillay for saving the lives of Masebiliu and Dingamang. He has also been inducted as an important member of the local community. His family, too, is proud of his selfless act.
Sudha Pillay Tampi, Colonel Pillay's Cousin, says, "It's not everyday that you find somebody who is willing to die to save someone else. This tremendous quality of kindness which I find in my cousin is very blessed and I'm so proud of the awards he won and at the same time he's so humble." Although based in Delhi, Colonel Pillay's bond with the people of Longdaipabram village runs deep. And the good soldier is strengthening this bond by overseeing and contributing to the village livelihood programme. He has also been instrumental in bringing a motor-able road to the village. Brigadier BK Nair knew he had made the right choice when he posted the young Captain in the trouble-torn Manipur region. A North East and an Afghan war veteran, Brigadier Nair, unfortunately passed away recently.
Colonel Pillay's Uncle Brigadier BK Nair said once, "I remember that night his mother called me up and I think she cursed me saying that what you have done to my son. I said I made a hero out of your son, look what he has done." At a time when the country is debating about a sense of alienation among the people from the northeast, the bond between the people of Longdaipabram and Colonel Pillay is an example of how an individual's act of courage and sacrifice can bridge differences

Dr Subramanian Swamy in CNN-IBN debate - Should Juveniles get away with lighter sentences?
The family of Delhi Brave Heart on Monday termed the Juvenile Justice Board's decision of ruling the sixth accused Mohammad Afroz alias Raju in the case minor as "unfortunate". Mohammad Afroz alias Raju was most Brutal and because of his brutal attack only the girl died.
Dr Subramanian Swamy says that law has to be interpreted. In many instances Supreme court interpreted the Law. Dr Swamy says that this 18 year limit for juvenile was set arbitrarily and it was not recommended by any UN commission. Neither it is not part of any of our traditional Law which is in the form of Indian Penal Code (IPC) which puts it at 12 years, nor it is International practice like in England it is 10 Years, America it is 12 Years. So therefore I would like court to interpret whether it is right.
Dr Swamy says I am not making the individual cases, I am asking the larger impact. Suppose Kasab was under 18 would you have given him 3 year sentence and then sent him home? Tomorrow it can be fair game for Pakistan to select Terrorist of age below 18 and make them come to India. I think we should not be insensitive to the fact that a Juvenile crime of stealing a bicycle and this type of Heinous gang rape crime can be treated equally.
Dr Swamy says that Victims have also a right. This Delhi girl was very bright. The medical reports has clearly shown the brutality in addition to rape which caused her death and this has the social implication. All the young girls of Delhi are today frightened. This crime is almost as par as the Terrorist Crime. So we have to make a distinction of ordinary crime vs this kind of heinous crime.
NOTE: According to the chargesheet, Mohammad Afroz had subjected the 23-year-old physiotherapist to sexual abuse twice, once when she was unconscious. He extracted her intestine with his bare hands and suggested she be thrown off the moving vehicle devoid of her clothes, it says.
