We run a number of wakeboarding courses to take your riding to the next level. The "Improvers Course" for riders looking to master corners and improve basic skills. The "Introduction to Rails & Obstacles" for those looking to use sliders for the first time. More advanced riders can look to our  "Introduction to Air Tricks", "Private Sessions" or "Pro Coaching"

Courses are :

  • specialised equipment is provided, including wetsuits.
  • suitable for those with a some wakeboard experience.
  • run in small groups

Improvers Wakeboarding

The Improvers Wakeboard Course is the perfect way to improve your newly found wake boarding skills and learn some new and exciting tricks!
This courses aims to get you to the level where you are ready to start using the sliders and really get to grip with how to wakeboard on a System 2.0

With BWSW instruction we can guarantee to take your riding to the next level!

Course content includes:

• Mastering corners on a System 2.0
• 180's
• Riding switch
• Ollies

Course objective: We aim to get you to the level where you are ready to start using the sliders.

Prerequisite: To be able to get up on a wakeboard and go in a straight line.

Availability: Course run most weekends from April to the end of October and some weekday evenings.

Suitable for: Those who have completed the Learn to Wakeboard Course or have equivalent experience.

Introduction to Rails and Obstacles

If you already have basic wakeboarding skills, it is time to progress and get hitting the RAILS! Using the rails and obstacles adds an extra element to your wakeboarding, offering limitless progression and fun. On this course we will teach the correct approach and set up to successful slides and tricks over the rails and obstacles. The course is a great confidence builder and will leave you sliding like a pro!

Course content includes:

• Approaching obstacles
• Correct set up
• Popping on
• Sliding 50/50
• Board slides

Introduction to Rails and Obstacles Course at Lagoon Watersports:


• Run by highly experienced and friendly BWSW instructors.

• Suitable for those with a basic level of wakeboarding.
• Maximum of 2 people per session

Introduction to Air Tricks

Learn to get air on a wakeboard. This is the perfect course to introduce you to the skills and techniques required to commence Air tricks.

On this course we will teach the correct approach and set up to successful for air tricks. The course is a great confidence builder and will leave you with the skills and confidence to start trying air tricks in a controlled manner with the right technique.

Course content includes:

• Approach for air tricks
• Correct set up
• Take off
• Flight control
• Landing
• Safety considerations

Private Wakeboard Cable hire

Our 2.0 Wakeboarding Cable can be booked for private hire by the hour for up to 5 riders. It’s a great way for groups, stag and hen, birthday parties and families to wakeboard as you get the cable to yourselves!

To get the best experience we do not recommend mixing beginners and those that can already wakeboard. We know this is not always practical but please be advised that when you mix abilities those that can already wakeboard tend to get a bit less riding time. When everyone in the group is a complete beginner we recommend at most 4 per hour.

Pricing:
£120 per hour including wetsuit and board hire.
Additional 30 min slots can be added at the time of booking - eg a 90 minute session

Info we need in advance of your session:
How many of the group are beginners and how many can already wakeboard.
Do you want the sliders to be available? All riders wishing to use the slider must prove their ability before use.

Ride passes cannot be used on private hire sessions and payment must be made in full upfront.

Where: Hove Lagoon.

Suitable for: Complete beginners age 14+ (Under 14 please see kids section).

What to Bring: All you need to bring is a towel and swim wear. Wetsuit, impact jacket and equipment hire is included.

Matt Crowhurst:
Matt Crowhurst has been around, involved in, competing and coaching in the wakeboard/wakeskate world at the highest level for over 15 years. A former European Junior Champ, European Junior Tour Champ, National Wakeskate title holder, ranking in the top five of the UK’s best for over 10 years and continuing to ride makes Matt one of, if not the, UK’s most experienced riders. This experience and knowledge of the sport has long been apart of what makes Matt an incredible coach. Having taught up and down the country and across the world from as young as 15, Matt has honed his teaching as a freelance coach helping riders of every level progress. Working at Quayside Wake & Ski, running the wakeboarding at Princes Club and then going freelance to teach across the UK, Europe & Australia has all made coaching as much apart of what Matt does as his own riding.

Scotty Broome
Scotty Broome is an Australian professional wakeboarder from Sydney Australia. After living in Orlando, Florida for 7 years, competing on the US professional tour and King of Wake, he now calls London home. Travelling the globe competing on the Wakeboarding World Series and numerous events shredding the waterways of the world. Travels have included Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Mexico, Korea, China, The Philippines, Spain, England, Ireland, France, Germany, Holland, The UAE, South Africa and Brazil. Living it all to the fullest in the search for new experiences, amazing places, people and a good time.

Sarah Kingdom 
Sarah Kingdom is a professional wakeboarder with a true passion for wakebording. She is currently ranked number 1 in the world.
As well as traveling the world to compete, she runs wide-a-wake.com, a website dedicated to the female wakeboarding community, this is where she really shows her commitment to the sport.
Sarah fell in love with wakeboarding on her very first session back in 2003, since then she has grown as a wakeboarder but claims to have gotten younger over the years thanks to the sport. After just three joyful years and one broken leg, she was the first UK female wakeboarder to be recognised as National Masters Champion, from there she has gone from strength to strength.

Steph Caller
Steph is  an amazing wake boarder, backed up in 2011 when she claimed the UK National championship Cable title for the 2nd year. The cable tow is her chosen power of propulsion, her home lake at the Cotswolds Water Park is where you will find her training. She is also is a great inspiration to some of the UK’s youngest talent with regular coaching groups. When not on the water Steph uses her creative talents as a freelance graphic designer, and in 2011 started her own creative agency Zebrative.

Tor Young
Winner of the Women's Open British Cable Nationals 2013, Tor Young is a top shredder.
She has been riding for 9 years and competing for 8 of them, boasting an impressive list of achievements, including being the first British female to land an invert on the cable.
