From ACABbq
We are very excited to officially announce the ACABbq 2024. The first iteration of this event will be held on August 11th, 2024 from 12pm-6pm at Dufferin Grove Park, Toronto, Ontario. It is a summer barbecue for anarchists in Toronto, Ontario, and beyond. Everyone is welcome to come together enjoy some free food, read some radical lit and share ideas. Toronto needs a flourishing anarchist scene, and we hope to rekindle the destruction of hierarchy in this city overrun with liberals. Whether you are an anarchist, anarcho-curious, left-leaning, or sympathetic, there is a place for you here.
To those who would resist,
On July 26, after a nearly two-month long ordeal, I was released from my federal grand jury subpoena by the South Carolina U.S. Attorney's Office. I'm so relieved that I don't have to appear in court. This would not have been possible if a supportive community hadn't had my back through all of this. I'm incredibly grateful for all the love I've received.

If the entire universe follows laws of natural selection, what could this mean for anarchy?
From It's Going Down
On this episode of the It’s Going Down podcast, IGD contributor Scott Campbell speaks with Flor, a compa in so-called Mexico actively involved in supporting anarchist political prisoner Jorge “Yorch” Esquivel. They speak about Okupa Che, an autonomous, self-managed space on the campus of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a project where Yorch has been a long-term participant. They then talk about the various charges and legal battles Yorch has faced since 2016, his ongoing imprisonment since December 8, 2022, and his recent sentence of seven years and six months. Flor also provides information on how folks can act in solidarity with Yorch and discusses the cases of other political prisoners in Mexico.
From the transmetropolitan review
A veil exists between the world above and the realms that are below; and shadow came into being beneath the veil; and that shadow became matter; and that shadow was projected apart. And what she had created became a product in the matter, like an aborted fetus. And it assumed a plastic form molded out of shadow, and became an arrogant beast resembling a lion.

From Anarchist Writers
The Dutch-American primatologist and ethologist Frans de Waal died of stomach cancer on 14 March 2024. His research was of interest to anarchists for it centred on primate social behaviour, including conflict resolution, cooperation, inequity aversion and empathy. In other words, subjects which Peter Kropotkin pioneered in Mutual Aid and Ethics. Unusually, de Waal was well aware of Kropotkin’s work and mentioned it in his writings, noting repeatedly how Kropotkin “rightly noted that many animals survive not through struggle, but through mutual aid."

As we are unfortunately repeatedly confronted with groups that support the Ukrainian side in the war between Russia and the Ukraine from an allegedly “anarchist” position, and as an article appeared in April (When ideology gets in the way of solidarity) in which ABC-Belarus was surprised that we described them as supporters of the war and therefore we did not invite them to the bookfair, here are a few words from us.

Although the site has not been updated with my own texts or republications since the end of 2022 and on this site I did not publish obituaries. I am "obliged" to do a tribute to the memory of my brother and comrade Theo, for the reason that Theo was the main supporter and promoter of this site on social media. Mediums I don't much care for nor have any accounts for. When I haven't written or posted anything in a while, I remember Theo saying "come on man, write something so I can post it, a lot of people are asking for your texts."
