What are other heroes' equivalents to All-Star Superman or The Dark Knight Returns where what makes the comic great can only truly be appreciated to the fullest after reading many of their comics?

[Comic Excerpt] My one problem with the All*Star Superman animated film is that it doesn’t have the best scene from the comic

Are there any Superman stories you consider just as good as or better All Star Superman?

All Star Superman is considered one of the greatest Superman stories and one of the best comics of all time. Would there be any stories you would say are just as good as or better than All Star Superman or does it reign supreme?

The only ones that are on the same tier, in my view, are 'For the Man Who Has Everything' and 'Superman for All Seasons'.

James Gunn confirms Superman: Legacy will not be an adaptation of All Star-Superman. Instead, it will adapt the part the comic balances with the incredible strength and morality of the character that Gunn wants to evoke with the film.
