I was in an absolute horrible depression a couple years ago, a lot happened that I don't really want to get into. One of my good friends called to say the rescue dog he was fostering gave birth about 2 months ago, would I like to meet the puppies? He knew what I'd been going through, he knew how much I love dogs. He came over by surprise one day, my roommate let him in, and he brought a basket of 8 puppies to me in my bed. I was in such a terrible state that day, and all of a sudden my friend is handing me puppies and telling me their names. I cried and cried, so overwhelmed by love and gratitude in such a dark time. I just hung out and played with them in my bed for a few hours. Only 2 of them peed on my blankets. My dog sniffed and checked the puppies out here and there, but mostly sat at the corner of my bed giving me dirty looks. I swear, the way he was looking at me playing with the puppies, he was thinking "we are NOT keeping all these puppies".
