yes because that's what a copperhead does, it prowls around attempting to murder children 🤦🏽‍♂️

true facts: the biggest thing to worry about with copperheads is they tend to "crouch and hide" and they are very good at camouflage. when in hide mode, they almost always give a warning bite, aka a dry or semi dry bite. they don't wanna bite you they just want you away from them. given an opportunity they will also slither away.

when you assault them with a broom or other instrument, they give up on hiding mode and flight mode and all that's left is attack mode. when you accost them, they fight back and in terrified survival mode, so as a result they throw everything at you. it's absolutely the worst thing you can do.

they are fat, lazy, small to medium sized snakes that mainly like to eat cicadas and baby birds/mammals. they are the utter cowards of the pit viper family. they should be left alone, and they remarkably absolutely leave y'all alone.

and here's the kicker, teaching a kiddo to respect wildlife is all you have to do to avoid unfortunate interactions.

i guarantee you that copperhead was more distressed about being on that driveway than any humans weee about seeing it there. it wanted to chill in some woodland hummus and leaf litter. that's all it wanted
