Pornophonique...LEGAL MP3 DOWNLOADS!

I just had to stop by and give this a plug as I love it!!!
It all started just before christmas when I got a hold of this 'chiron beta Prime' song and my kid son just adored it...eventually after finding the video someone made for it at youtube, he was listening to it, erm...too often (every bloody minute!)
In case you have been living under a rock here is the song and the video links for you:
Chiron beta Prime by Jonathan Coulton (He has a site HERE where he was posting a different song every week and this was one of them)
Click the song title to play it!

One of many youtube videos for this too:

....And So......
As my son loved this song so much I decided to try and find as many songs as I could with the theme of 'robots' or 'androids' etc...there wasn't quite as many as I thought I'd find but I was only searching for tracks with those words in the title so I'm sure there are more that don't have it mentioned in the title.
Anyway I will be uploading the final collection here for you cos' I think it's pretty good (and if you have kids, trust me - they will want it!) but not today.

As I was searching I came across more than one suitable song from this band named Pornophonique (yes, not the ideal name of a band when it is for your 7 year old kids CD collection eh!) so I eventually found their stuff freely downloadable at Jamendo.com and here we are.
Maybe it is because I am an 80's kid..well, sort of...born 1974 and grew up in the late eighties, I have fond memories of things like Sinclair ZX spectrum computers and all that stuff. The thing I love about Pornophonique is that they sample loads of computer game sounds...I even recognise most of the games like Super Mario (That one is easy to spot in their songs). So maybe that's why I love this band but whatever the reason, it is a refreshing change to hear them.
I have since lost all affection for Chiron Beta Prime et all but that is due to a complete overdose caused by the 7yr old!!
Pornophonique don't give me the same effect. I have been listening to the limited tracks they have out, a lot and still no signs of boredom.
It would be interesting to read any opinions and comments so come on, don't be shy!
Any more 1970's kids here...???

Enjoy!!
Game Over is a great tune.

They have another shorter album too, go to
Go to Jamendo.com for the page and also find a whole load of brilliant unknown artists.
I have spent a few hours there and it is getting pretty addictive!

Mark Ronson - Version [2007]

Bon après-midi!
Todays offering may not be what you've come to expect around here but, that is exactly what I want this to be: Unpredictable. I realised that as I have brought you certain artists I have tended to stay on them for a bit too long. As much as I love Dylan, Hendrix, Bowie and other greats I am such a lover of discovery of music...that buzz you get from hearing something from some unknown band or artist for the first time, that is what I really and truly love about music. I have all my favourites like everyone but I am always trying something I didn't know about just to see if I like it. That way my musical tastes are forever evolving and encompassing what you might term as fucking loads.
Hehe.
(Don't worry though, I know I still have to complete the Hendrix ATM sets and it will happen over time!).

I saw this album floating around many places online so I tried it and, while it isn't going into my favourites list any time soon, it is actually a pretty fun and enjoyable listen.

A collection of covers by this guy Ronson who, as I only just discovered, is a music producer from London.
Why not just go and read the full article instead of my third-hand information.
He really spices up most of these songs with a more up tempo beat, sax or trumpets added and a good bit of magic that, in some cases, makes you realise the potential of the original song. Especially in the case of the Kaiser chiefs who I fucking cannot stand usually but in the context of this album they sound fine. anyone who can make those arseholes sound even passable is in possession of a great talent in my opinion!!

Tracks
1. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face - Mark Ronson Ft. The Daptone Horns (3:12)
2. Oh My God - Mark Ronson Ft. Lily Allen (3:35)
3. Stop Me - Mark Ronson Ft. Daniel Merriweather (3:49)
4. Toxic - Mark Ronson Ft. Tiggers (4:05)
5. Valerie - Mark Ronson Ft. Amy Winehouse (3:39)
6. Apply Some Pressure - Mark Ronson Ft. Paul Smith (3:36)
7. Inversion - Mark Ronson (1:46)
8. Pretty Green - Mark Ronson Ft. Santo Gold (3:14)
9. Just - Mark Ronson Ft. Phantom Planet (5:21)
10. Amy - Mark Ronson Ft. Kenna (3:31)
11. The Only One I Know - Mark Ronson Ft. Robbie Williams (3:59)
12. Diversion - Mark Ronson (1:19)
13. LSF - Mark Ronson Ft. Kasabian (3:28)
14. Outversion - Mark Ronson (1:50)

Putumayo Presents - Asian Lounge [2005]

Hello my friends.
I assume you are the friendly ones if you are reading this. Shit, it has been so, so long since my last update.
Not dead yet though - still dying.
Crohn's Disease has a way of getting under your skin and making you regret the day you were born sometimes. All that really means in internet terms is: no fucking album updates and a pretty boring website.
Well I am back.
For now.
So let me welcome you once again to this fine music website. (heh!)

So much has happened in the real world and the online world since we last spoke.
Let me summarize it in as few words as possible so we can get on to the music OK.

Here is what I would like to say. Feel free to voice your opinions on the following by placing a comment won't you!
It might be easier to say what is shit and what isn't...

FUCK The Simpsons: Once used-to-be-slightly-funny-TV-show turned into absolute pile of crap movie with nothing going for it!
FUCK Twitter: The web 2.0 situation brought to an ugly extreme where the saddest members of society post their latest thoughts and actions online for people to keep a constant update on them...what the fuck??
GREAT NEWS: Cure for Aids?
(Lets hope they can conquer lots of other diseases in the near future. This one sounds amazing though)
GREAT NEWS: Tanya Andersen Wins and now suing RIAA for fees and costs. Hehe

FUCK My ISP: (They introduced a fair use policy...damn.)

OK I am getting bored with that already.

I suppose it'll soon be time for the old Bob Dylan Radio Shows to start again.
Cool.
Oh and LOST will be restarting on TV too I think. Great.

One more thing.
I recently downloaded and watched the most fascinating of movies called 'Come and See'. or 'Idi i smotri' - It is a Russian movie and you can read about it here or here(that one contains spoilers) or here(no spoilers)
Please don't even stop to think about it, just go download it:
Torrent to full DVD image
Torrent to 2CD Divx files+Subtitles
Torrent to a VCD (or KVCD) image file to play on DVD players
Rapidshare Links to Avi File with subtitles

Hmm.
OK here's some music then.

Putumayo Presents - Asian Lounge [2005]

I always get requests for these Putumayo Presents Collections so I thought I'd start of a flurry of them with this fine specimen.
It is pretty much as it sounds, Asian Lounge music.
Nice. Mellow. Summer beats.
This one is especially good as it seems to get that balance between ethnic and traditional sounds and ambient/electronica sound.
If I am honest this has to be one of my favourite Putumayo albums.
See what you think.
You can't fail to enjoy a laid back afternoon with some of these tunes meandering through the recesses of your skull.
Believe me.

Thank you again for still dropping by and another THANK YOU to those who have sent me nice emails and good wishes... some of you were even worrying about me.
How sweet.
All appreciated though - seriously.

B-Tribe feat. Deborah Blando - Suave Suave [1995]

B-Tribe feat. Deborah Blando - Suave Suave [1995]

Well hello again.
And you thought I had died or something.
Sorry, still here.
After the Motorhead session, I figure you must now be ready for this one which I find so mellow and tranquil, it can send me to sleep. Not a bad thing right now.
With the onset of sunny days and the smell of freshly mown grass and all the things that make you feel like summer, this album fits in very well.
I can only apologise again for my lack of appearance here but illness..etc etc. It's getting bloody hard to keep things going in reality, never mind this virtual responsibility! I do like it here though and won't stop so all I ask is that you drop by each day just to check and download the recommended music, if I managed to post any. I have some great stuff planned!

Here is a selection of quotes I found on amazon and I just couldn't agree more:
'I stumbled across this one in a pawn shop and it has moved up the ranks to be one of my favorite albums. I'm not quite sure how to describe it (often the sign of a great album). Take a little Spanish guitar, some cool ambient grooves, some sparse vocals and other sounds floating about and you've got a great album. I hate to compare it to other artists because this only reveals the uniqueness of this particular album.

The highlight of the album is the eight minute Hablando with a great drum track and ambient sound scape with some very lush and soothing vocal work.

If you're looking for a break from the overtaxed techno and/or pop scene, this one will engage you and set you free.
'

Or this one:
'Suave Suave, the album which introduced me to the magic B-Tribe - The Brave world, is truly masterpiece, which gives you so much positive emotions , ambitions, that you can't remain uninterested. One can forget about any sadness in the world, while listening to Suave Suave. On the other hand the music doesn't bring you surface joy. No. Everything is much more internal, sensual, spiritual, suave... suave....

A very philosophic music. It brings fire and at the same time ambiance - an equilibrium.
'

OK his grammar sucks but he puts it rather well I think!

Enjoy!

If any of you play guitar, it might have come to your attention that if you go looking for any tabs or chords recently, you'll find your usual sites are not as they were...they are now the subject of the great authorities on copyright etc. I am fucking annoyed! More later.

The Cinematic Orchestra - Man with a Movie Camera [2003]

Illness.
A quick post today but a very good piece which I URGE you to listen to.

This group, The Cinematic Orchestra put together some music for the movie, made in 1929, 'The Man With a Movie Camera'. This is a silent documentary which, in my present condition, is far too difficult to convey to you so it's over to Wikipedia at this point!
I might as well send you to the wikipedia Page for the band too as my energy fails me...
Check Here.
If, after reading those, you are not even in the least intrigued by what you have learned then just take it from me...this album is a fine piece of music and is just simply beautiful.
Take it!

Captain Jack - Music Instructor [2004]

I wanted to bring you something a little different..
Well I think I managed it with this one.
I better tell you I know absolutely nothing about Captain Jack and, surprisingly to probably most who read this, hadn't heard of him until a few days ago.
I seem to have led more of a sheltered life than even I believed!

As I search around I find this guy variously described as
Electropop
Electronica
Eurodance
Eurotrash
Europap
(Ok, I added the last two)

I become less and less an experienced music lover as the days pass because it would seem that this guy is well known but not to me.
Have I missed something big here?
In a word, NO. I think he's shit to be totally honest.
I get bored when I hear music like this. Reminds me of a fucking casio keyboard 'expert'...you know, the guys who can actually play along to the built-in demo tune.
Fuck Captain Jack!
Also I just do not get it..why parade yourself in such an obvious and pointless(or is it?) gimmick as a military uniform? Apparently he always wears it and sings songs of peace and love bla bla.
Amazing.
The complexity.
The profundity.
What shite.
Remember what I always used to say at this point:
DO NOT be persuaded by me, after all I just proved I know nothing about music. I always recommend you download and listen for YOURSELF.
You should never say anything is crap, or good, unless you have experienced it yourself surely.
Okay maybe a couple of life experiences can be left out of that rather flawed statement there. (thoughts of penile related masochism(vaginal if you prefer!) or a bout of malaria spring to mind, I think we can safely assume both are a bit crap).
By the same token we could probably assume that meeting the top politicians from UK and USA would be something you could class as great fun.
Hmm.
Not really.

With me being so ill recentely I haven't been as 'on the ball' as usual regarding all things internet. This caused me to almost -not quite!- miss the fact that some kindly souls managed to get a hold of the preview DVD of the next season of '24', once a favourite show of mine. If any of you are as slow as I have been on this one then be slow no more!
Visit your favourite torrent site and search for it. The episodes are bloody good too. Leaves the story hanging just a tad(!) but definitely still a great program and so well put together I get almost too excited when watching it.
I hope your favourite torrent site isn't one called
isohunt.com
The site is not online. Recently the MPAA started some of their shit with court and all that bollocks and now the hosting company's pulled the plug on the site. They vow to get back online soon but I'm not holding my breath. Too many sites have gone the same way.
What gets me is the fact that no one seems to learn a fucking thing from history!
(Just look at the wars going on right now for confirmation of that)
The war on drugs is a great parrallel to the 'war on piracy'.
These are so-called wars that can never, NEVER be won!
In both wars the prosecutor goes after the middle men for some of the time, the end user for some more of the time and, when they get lucky(or that's what they think) they manage to get the wholesale or mass scale distributor.
What they fail to learn or choose to ignore is that as soon as one goes down, another takes the place. Every time a mafia boss is killed, another rises up.
Every time a drug dealer gets nicked, someone else becomes your dealer. (No, not mine you druggie).
And so we all know...every time a torrent site goes down, another one becomes either more used OR, a new one steps up.
Yet they waste so many millions on these fake wars every year and somehow get the backing of the public?
Not the only fake wars happening I know but these are less controversial to talk about right now, unless you look at the UK show 'Big Brother' which is single handedly creating international racial tension which is all down to some bitchy women who are so fucking uneducated and THICK, they just cannot understsand the concept enough to even realise it.
I haven't much to add to the big brother furore except to say:
That Jade character...she is pretty subhuman right?
The words gargoyle and rancid spring to mind.
Has no one noticed the similarity between her and that crazy frog thing?

It will be funny and the irony too much if Shilpa wins.
She deserves to but I am an 'A-Team kid' so I have to be vying for the FaceMan always!

I better add this edit:
Just checked isohunt.com and there's a new message posted by the authors and it sounds promising!..
'We are moving house. If the tubes run smoothly, we expect to be back in full swing tomorrow.'

Good stuff.
