HER GHOST A tribute to Chris Marker's La Jetee by Kode9, MFO and Ms. Haptic http://www.mfoptik.de/her-ghost/ Her Ghost: An Homage to Chris Marker’s La Jetée is an on-going collaborative film-sound performance project between DJ and sound designer Kode9 (Steve Goodman, UK), visual artists Marcel Weber (MFO) and Lucy Benson (DE), and researcher/lecturer/performer, Ms.Haptic (Jessica Edwards, UK), that significantly re-works, both aurally and visually, Marker’s science fiction film-photo-essay original (1962). 50 years from the premiere of Chris Marker’s science fiction anomaly, Her Ghost refracts the original script, so that it now sheds light onto the previously obscured figure of the woman. Drawing from the stills, narrative and soundscape of the original film, Her Ghost suggestively r...
My tribute to my favorite femmes fatales in cinema (70 FILMS, EDITED IN 2008). MUSIC (in order of appearance): - "Minnie the Moocher" by the Blues Brothers, - "Nature boy" by Miles Davis, - "Baby did a bad bad thing" by Chris Isaak, - Several tracks from the score of "Dangerous Liaisons" by George Fenton, the score of "Basic instinct" by Jerry Goldsmith and the score of "U Turn" by Ennio Morricone, - "Something wicked this way comes" by Barry Adamson. Here you'll see some of the most evil, conniving women in cinema history; some pretty girls that can't tell the difference between right and wrong; a lot of mysterious, cold ladies that have a bad smoking habit; and other dangerous creatures, not necessarily bad, but the kind of woman that can manipulate a man without him realizing. - Bri...

Kansas, 1962. America's heartland. Rich, a small town teen, finds himself in a nightmare of his own creation when Bill, his older brother, picks him up on the way home from school one afternoon. What would appear to be an innocent joyride turns sinister when Mark, Bill's best friend, reveals Ira, a black teen new to the area, gagged and bound in the bed of the truck. Trapped with Jessica, his brother's girlfriend, it becomes clear that the humiliation and cruelty are but a prelude to the true purpose of the drive: a lynching. Called to repeat a rumor he started, Rich is faced with a choice between family and the life of an innocent teen. Written & Directed by Chris Cloyd. Produced by Sean-Michael Smith.
This reading, Ambiguity Forum, was staged at the Renaissance Society on Jan 14, 2017, as part of the program accompanying Sadie Benning's exhibition Shared Eye (Nov 19 - Jan 22, 2017). In both form and content, Sadie Benning’s works often suggest how indeterminacy or ambiguity can take on a political dimension or an active quality. More generally, in many different contexts, ambiguity becomes a concept to contend with, whether as something to embrace, challenge, or question. A number of artists and writers were invited to send in short written responses to these ideas. Their replies were also joined by selected excerpts from other books, essays, and poems. A performative reading of these varied texts in the gallery space staged a polyphony of sorts, with different voices rising up within...

"Jessica" is a rock instrumental written by Dickey Betts, guitarist of The Allman Brothers Band, and Les Dudek, who played with them soon after Duane Allman's death.[1] Jessica was first released on the band's 1973 album Brothers and Sisters, and has subsequently been used in many musical contexts. In January 2006, a Wall Street Journal article referred to the piece as "a true national heirloom." It is widely known as the theme to the BBC Two motoring programme Top Gear and its popular reformatted revival. The piece, along with "Ramblin' Man", is one of the two tracks from the album which marked the beginning of a new era for the Allman Brothers Band following the deaths of Duane Allman and Berry Oakley. The song is named for Jessica Betts, the daughter of Dickey Betts and Sandy Bluesky....

Ahem. A little playful activity during a shoot. Most of the videos of her I have uploaded were of the goofy/fun variety. This one is a little different. Many more miles of footage from this girl will be coming soon. Music is by me as well, though I had to add a few bars more than I wanted to make it fit the video length. Oh well.

Well, the apartment is in New York, but Jessica's Italian, so why not. Or at least part Italian. This was the beginning of a fun shoot a few years back on the Upper West side of New York City. I asked her to come up with a story, and thus the whole "Bamboo" thing at the end. She was silly, sexy, funny. Bambooooo. Yahooo. ~ Andrew

Sidang Pemeriksaan Terdakwa Jessica
When you walked into the room looking like Jean Harlow
Oh Jesse, everyone looked at you, you're a lady
Though I know that you've been 'round the world maybe two or three times
In your daddy's pocket, I'm gonna break that rich-bitch thing with you
Chorus:
Oh Jessica, you're a lady, if it takes all night you're gonna be nice
Oh Jessica, I think lady, that cold hard front could melt like ice
Jessica Jessica, Jessica Jessica, cold like a killer's eyes
Stay with me Jessica
You're a lady of the world, you've been to Paris and London
But Jesse it doesn't mean a thing to you when you're lonely
Though you'd have to have a heart of stone to put me on my knees
I know you ain't got it, I'm gonna get to you no matter what you do
chorus - stay with me Jessica
Jessica you're a lady, Jessica you're a lady, Jessica, Jessica
Oh Jessica, you're a lady, take me home in your big black car
Oh Jessica, I think lady, you're not as hard as they think you are
Jessica Jessica, Jessica Jessica, fire up your cold heart
And stay with me Jessica, stay with me Jessica, stay with me Jessica
Jessica you're a lady, Jessica you're a lady, Jessica, Jessica
