Student placements & internships

One of our greatest strengths as a university is our links with industry. As one of the most industry connected universities in Australia our students graduate work-ready.

Carlin Grant

Carlin Grant

Law and justice students have access to unique court internship and placement programs with the Magistrates’, Supreme, County and Family Courts, with the rare opportunity to shadow a judge. Find out more about our clinical legal education opportunities.

Our students’ professional legal skills are further enhanced by our mooting program. Students compete against law schools in national and international competitions to resolve legal issues that resemble real-life disputes in a simulated live courtroom setting.

‘One of the things that attracted me to VU was the balance between legal theory and realistic legal practice.

I interned with The Supreme Court of Victoria – Court of Appeal and the County Court of Victoria. In addition, I volunteered at the Melbourne and Werribee Magistrates Courts and tried my hand at mooting.’
