Short courses 2 courses

Duration: 1000 hours
EAP is a university and TAFE preparation course. It is designed for students with upper intermediate to advanced levels of English who want to gain admission to an Australian TAFE, undergraduate or postgraduate course.
Duration: 13 weeks
Foundations at VU is a fully funded 13 week course providing you an alternative pathway, if you didn't meet direct entry requirements, to reach your goal of studying a higher education undergraduate or diploma course.

3 courses

Complete a double qualification with an initial program in the humanities, creative arts, and social sciences and then complete an accredited masters program in secondary teaching.
Undertake an initial program in physical education and sport science and then complete an accredited masters program in secondary teaching.
A new and innovative double qualification. It allows you to undertake an initial bachelor program in science and then complete an accredited masters program in secondary teaching.

TAFE certificates & diplomas 7 courses

Duration: 0.5 years
Begin your career in children's services. This course covers the fundamentals of childhood development and caring for children.
Duration: 1.5 years
Become a fully qualified Early Childhood Educator and develop the skills in providing activities and care to children.
Duration: 1 year
Make a difference to the lives of young people as you launch your career in teaching with a Diploma in Education Studies. This course has been specially designed for students who do not meet the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Education through the formal VTAC selection process.
Duration: 1 year
Become a qualified teacher's assistant and you could work in a range of education settings, including public schools, independent schools and community education.
Duration: 0.5 years
Become a fully qualified TAFE teacher. This course is designed specifically for people who are currently working in or wish to work in the area of training/teaching development, delivery and assessment.

Launch your career as a youth worker and make a difference in a range of community-based programs.

Bachelor degrees (undergraduate) 6 courses

Duration: 4 years
Take the first steps to a rewarding career as an early-childhood teacher or primary teacher and assist children to develop and learn to the maximum of their abilities. Gain recognition by the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
Duration: 4 years
Become a teacher and make a difference in young lives. We offer 16 specialisations and once you graduate you'll be able to teach in primary or secondary schools.

This course provides knowledge and skills in physical education and sport science through discipline specific studies in sport, exercise science and health.

This course provides students aspiring to become specialist Maths/Science teachers with a solid foundation in Science and/or Maths.

Gain the practical management and leadership skills to help young in the role of youth work. Youth work seeks to promote young peoples personal and social development and enable them to have a voice, influence and place in their communities and society as a whole.

Prepare for registration as a secondary teacher in a wide range of discipline areas through the Master of Teaching (Secondary Education).

The offshore Master of TESOL course provides students with relevant content and research based learning opportunities to allow them to become effective teachers and managers of English to Speakers of Other Languages programs in Vietnam.

The Doctoral degree in Education (PhD) is an advanced research program offered across VU’s research focus areas and the major disciplines of our academic Colleges.
I chose VU because it offered more placement hours than any other teaching course. I wanted to have as much experience as I could in schools before starting my career. I believed it was very important for me to be exposed to different learning environments.
