Studio 10 host Sarah Harris and her husband have welcomed the arrival of their first child.

Harris gave birth to a healthy boy on Wednesday.

"A baby boy named Paul William Ward arrived at 11.30am Wednesday, weighing 4.23 kilograms and measuring 54 centimetres. Both Sarah and Paul are doing well," a Ten spokesperson said.

"The new parents are looking forward to spending their first Christmas together with their new bundle of joy."

Baby Ward arrived a week early as Harris was due on Christmas Day.

"Bubs is a bruiser, but perfect. We're in love," she said.

Harris married her partner, Irish IT specialist – and redhead – Ward in July last year and announced her pregnancy on Studio 10 earlier this year.

"I've been trying to hide it, very unsuccessfully because the audience keep picking up on it saying, 'You're doing a wonderful job at dressing your changing body'. I'm due on Christmas Day," she told co-hosts Ita Buttrose, Jessica Rowe and Joe Hildebrand in July.

"I'm dying for it be a ginger. I'd love a little ginger baby but as long as it's happy and healthy we're good."

At seven months pregnant she lashed out after paparazzi photos of her "off duty" were published online.

Harris said she initially felt ashamed of the photos of her growing baby bump but then made the mistake of reading the comments before telling body shamers to "get stuffed".

"Some of them were just revolting. Having a go at how huge I am, how fat I am, how ugly I am. You know, when you're pregnant you do feel really vulnerable and self-conscious about your body," she said on air in October. "I did feel pretty awful about the comments and the pictures.

"But then I thought, you know what? Bugger it. I'm growing a baby. This is me.

"I hope those photos of me make other pregnant women feel better about their bodies because I'm kind of fed up with the body shaming that happens when you're pregnant and then the pressure that comes afterwards to lose the baby weight."

Who wore it best? Beating the heat, Homer-style. Where's that storm ya promised, Sydney???
