Israel's tax authority says international supermodel Bar Refaeli and her mother are suspected of tax evasion for allegedly not reporting millions of dollars in income earned abroad and on luxury items.

The authority said on Thursday that Refaeli didn't report the free Range Rover and Lexus cars she received from car companies in exchange for published photos of herself with the cars.

Refaeli has also been accused of not pay taxes on a luxury apartment in Tel Aviv, where she lives.

It also said that both Refaeli and her mother have been barred from travelling abroad for six months without permission from authorities.

The pair were released on $193,000 bail according to the BBC and should the model leave the country she must pay a $64,000 bond before doing so.

"This is a taxation issue that raises the discussion of who is considered a resident of Israel," Refaeli's lawyer Giora Aderet told Page Six.

Refaeli, the former girlfriend of actor Leonardo DiCaprio, is the face of brands like lingerie giant Agent Provocateur and watch maker Hublot. She has also graced the cover of numerous magazines around the world including Elle and Marie Claire.

She is Israel's top-earning model, according to Forbes Israel, and has a reported net worth of $20 million - a nest egg she's been building since she began modelling at 11.

Most recently the 30-year-old hosted Israel's X Factor and married billionaire businessman Adi Ezra in September.
