Sailing and yacht racing events.

We can offer skippered and bare boat yacht charter for many sailing race events. In the past we have entered boats in Round the Island race, Fastnet , Dieppe Dash, Royal Escape, Barcelona Race Week and Cowes.

We can also arrange racing from Brighton on our Beneteau yachts. Yachts can also be chartered from Brighton, Gosport and Barcelona on a skippered or bareboat basis.

Race Event - Round the Island

This annual race event is one of the largest yacht races in the world - regularly attracting over 1,700 boats of every different shape and size.  16,000 sailors take part in the 1 day race which starts on the famous Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes.  The course is 50 nautical miles long and races from Cowes along the beautiful Western Solent, out through the Needles, round St Catherine's Point and back into the Solent to finish back at Cowes.  Guaranteed close quarters racing the whole way round the Island this really is a spectacular event and one that every keen sailor should participate in at least once (although we are pretty sure you will be back to do it again!)

Join the boat on Friday for a day's training with our proffesional skipper and race trainer.  An early start on Saturday for the race and then back into port for beers and a debrief! 

The price includes half board on the boat.

Come join Lagoon Watersports for an unforgettable week of racing around the buoys in beautiful Barcelona. We guarantee excitement as we race on our fully equipped racing yacht. You will have gorgeous spring sunshine, wonderful sailing conditions, and some of the best sailing, dining and apres sailing that the Med has to offer  - Giving you an unbeatable experience. 

The price includes two days of training and the following five day regatta.  You will have a professional skipper and race trainer on board and be kitted out in stylish Musto race kit.

Dates

TRAINING DAYS - Wednesday 21st & Thursday 22nd May. 9am- 5pm.

RACING - Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th May. There will be 7 races over the 3 days.

There are events happening each evening after the racing, with a prize giving on the Sunday. More info and some great images of 2013 event can be seen on the website

Crew Accommodation / Price

There will not be any accommodation available on the boat as it’s going to be full of sails! We are looking into large apartments close to the marina if you click here

The price is £1321.43 for the 5 nights, based on 8 staying its around £170 each.

-  Check in on 20th May, from 4pm. 

-  Check out on 26th May at 10am.

However the choice of where you stay is completely up to you, it is certainly not obligatory to stay in the large apartment! If you feel that the apartment does not suit you and would prefer to sort your own accommodation then let us know and we will not factor you into the numbers.

Flights

Please let us know when you have booked your flight – We will sort out transfers from the airport to Barcelona town. We will be able to negotiate a good price for a taxi with our transfer company - especially if a few of us can group together and get a mini bus. Davie and Sarah from Lagoon Watersports will be arriving 18:50 on Tuesday 20th, and flying out late on Sunday night – depart at 21:55.

Food

Lunches will be provided. All breakfasts and dinners are to be paid for by individual. We will probably be eating out for dinners – and having breakfast at the house. There are plenty of shops close by to purchase your cereals and Weetabix!

Crew Clothing 

crew member will receive a coveted ‘Lagoon Racing’ Musto gilet and cap. We would be grateful if you could please let me know your size.

Insurance

We understand that it is a requirement of race entry that everyone has proof of their accident and illness insurance, we will confirm this nearer the time. 

Yacht Charter - Brighton

Beneteau First 35  & Beneteau 36.7 Yacht Charter from Brighton

Lagoon Watersports charters two different Beneteau yachts. The Beneteau First 35 is available for skippered charters and the Beneteau 36.7 is available for skippered and bareboat charters. For bareboat charters you will need to have your RYA Dayskipper qualification. You can charter our yachts for a day, a weekend or even a week - You could cruise the Brighton coastline, visit the Solent or sail over to France! These boats are also available for skippered race charter for all the main yachting events such as Cowes Week, Round the Island Race and Little Britain.

Beneteau First 35
This yacht is s a popular, fast, sail cruiser.
