Ever since we were able to read (actually – ever since we were able to look at pictures and appreciate pretty things), ELLE Magazine has been a staple on our bedside tables. In fact, Stephanie Mark, The Coveteur’s co-founder took her fashion Bible dreams to the next level and spent sometime interning under the mentorship of Ms. Kate Lanphear, ELLE’s Style Director. It’s funny how things come full circle. And now, we ventured inside the Manhattan home of the one and only Kate Davidson Hudson, ELLE’s Accessories Director. She’s responsible for filling the glossy’s pages with killer necklaces, sky-high wedges, chandelier earrings, and of course, the drool worthy handbags (yes we are looking at YOU two-toned Céline shopper). As the queen of organization and compartmentalization (her closet could even give The Container Store a run for their money), she loves to mix fine gems with costume jewelry to add a unique level of personalization. We share a mutual love of stacked rings, vintage Lanvin, anything in pony hair by Pierre Hardy, and H.Stern chain-link bracelets. Her home is filled with antique books dating back to the 18th Century, some of which belonged to her husband’s grandfather – an avid collection of first edition literary publications. And that’s not the only piece of history she has sitting in her chic home – she’s also one of the lucky owners of a limited edition yellow-gold Van Cleef Cadeñas watch, originally made for the Duchess of Windsor in 1935. When it was announced the House of Van Cleef was stopping production on this minimalistic timepiece, KDH made sure she got her hands on one. Nice work Kate – we are officially jealous.
