Gary Trent master class: 27/0/0 on 16 shot attempts

[–]RaptorsMrAnder5on 1574 points1575 points  (19 children)

I'm 1000% okay with that Statline.

We have 3 playmakers and 3 rebounders in the starting lineup.

Let the man score

[–]Raptorsbrokendrive 323 points324 points  (10 children)

Scoring is the best stat. Love it

[–]Netsyenks 185 points186 points  (5 children)

For real, people get mad when a player can only score. It's a pretty big part of the game lmao

[–]RaptorsCaskJeeves 149 points150 points  (1 child)

Especially on our team where we have like 6 guys that do everything except score

[–]Tampa Bay RaptorsMrGrieves- 138 points139 points  (4 children)

Yep. Love it when my players aren't afraid to pull the trigger when passed to.

Nothing more frustrating than when they get scared to shoot and overpass.

[–]ADuckee 310 points311 points  (1 child)

Vintage GTJ statline.

[–]LebanonbeefJeRKy-LB 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Vintage Norm statline too

[–]Toronto Huskieslolcat351 167 points168 points  (10 children)

The Deion Waiters stat line!

[–][deleted] 42 points43 points  (3 children)

man he was sick in 2017 when he hit all those game winners

[–]inprofile 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The one true KD Warrior killer

[–]Raptorscreepypaster 68 points69 points  (1 child)

most impressive thing is he rarely forced tonight, if at all. All his shots was everything the D was giving him. If they closed out hard on the 3 he took a 1/2 dribble into an open middy.

[–]NuggetsPurodada 68 points69 points  (2 children)

dawg they pay me to shoot the ball

[–]Raptorsnametakenalready 47 points48 points  (1 child)

He's a shooting guard, not a passing guard, and certainly not a rebounding guard

[–]BullsLeBronicTheHolistic 117 points118 points  (1 child)

Fantasy steals god

[–]Nuggetssixseven89 91 points92 points  (0 children)

2 steals though

[–]Raptorskayembeee 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Pascal takes care of the rest. Enough assists for all of them

[–]Raptorsillmatic2112 56 points57 points  (1 child)

Hell yeah he compliments the rest of our guys well. Need a shooter aside from FVV, but watch out here comes siakam too

Edit - complements lol

[–]76ersbulldozer_rob 1110 points1111 points  (16 children)

Surely there’s a Doc-less light at the end of this tunnel right

[–]yOw_indahOuse 338 points339 points  (4 children)

Not before blowing a 3-1 lead in the playoffs.

[–]FinaplixForas 202 points203 points  (4 children)

A light at the end of the Doc-ness

[–]NBAmackinder 55 points56 points  (1 child)

Hello Doc-ness my old friend

The season has come to an end

With Simmons gone you haven’t him to blame

Surely Embiid will someday find his game

But the hustle to play some D just isn’t there

So I guess it’s fair

Its now the summer of Morey

[–]SupersonicsPaulTheOctopus 677 points678 points  (3 children)

6-76ers by end of year

[–][TOR] Vince Carterschooli00 123 points124 points  (1 child)

Sam Hinke's vision finally realized

[–]76ersdoctorwormactualworm 1136 points1137 points  (24 children)

Always a fun light hearted matchup between these two teams!

[–]RaptorsTOBlueJays 837 points838 points  (18 children)

Maxey and Barnes’ bromance feel like Romeo and Juliet with how their families hate each other

[–]Toronto HuskiesDogeJesus-_- 306 points307 points  (5 children)

If I have my Shakespeare right, I don't like where this is going

[–]Raptorsno_good_names_avail 143 points144 points  (3 children)

The image of Maxey asleep, presumed dead while melancholy Barnes drinks poison is killing me right now.

Sixers transition defense is atrocious

Sixers transition defense is atrocious

[–]LebanonFallenLemur 456 points457 points  (22 children)

Too slow, old man Tucker is gonna be in an ice bath all night

[–]ColeBeasleyMD 401 points402 points  (16 children)

The way Siakam cooked Tucker in the 1st quarter was filthy. On some elder abuse shit.

[–]Raptorslazyniu 132 points133 points  (6 children)

And talked all that smack right to Tucker's face too. It was glorious.

[–]illtakethewindowseat 32 points33 points  (0 children)

☠️ Fucking died

Tucker man... I was like "who let this old head on the court"... then I realized he's a year younger than me 😑

[–]Canadacrimxona 34 points35 points  (1 child)

Watching pj pump fake and then dribble drive kick out to I think niang seemed questionable

[–]Raptorsbizarrobazaar 71 points72 points  (3 children)

The take foul has hurt the Sixers and Nuggets the most. So many fast breaks tonight that they just gave up on.

[–][ATL] Dominique WilkinsCounterInsanity 1851 points1852 points  (43 children)

The Raptors had an answer for every little run the Sixers tried to put together. Well played by them.

[–][TOR] Kyle LowrySamiMadeMeDoIt 735 points736 points  (26 children)

Definitely the most complete game they've played so far. Every time the Sixers would cut the lead to like 6 points the Raps would go on a 8-0 run

[–]ROPisagoodseries 447 points448 points  (19 children)

Helps when the 76ers are paying $33m for Tobias Harris to go 1-5 for like 3 pts

[–]Toronto HuskiesKind_Development708 142 points143 points  (1 child)

37.5*

[–]Tampa Bay RaptorsplushPudding 274 points275 points  (4 children)

helps when raps are elite in transition but sixers have 0 transition defence

[–]RaptorsFetchFrosh 169 points170 points  (0 children)

They have James Harden throwing up his hands and complaining to the refs, which is basically just as good.

[–]jumpthroughit 100 points101 points  (3 children)

The boys were FLYING on D tonight. The Sixers looked shell shocked at so many points. I don’t think they’ve seen a D cut off so many shots they thought they were about to take in a long time.

[–]Toronto HuskiesHam_-_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s called daddy Trent jr

[–]Hawksbraggpeak 252 points253 points  (5 children)

Nick Nurse is awesome I'm so jealous

[–]Raptorskayembeee 145 points146 points  (4 children)

He has the entire raptors squad salivating to be on All-Defense. I swear it’s all they care about they have fully drank the Nick nurse “defense is all that matters” koolaid.

[–]James HardenFragileCilantro 64 points65 points  (0 children)

It felt like the Raptors couldn't miss anytime it got close it was insane

[–]LebanonFallenLemur 79 points80 points  (2 children)

Thanks to Nick "Glen stopper" Nurse

[–]soldaboy 130 points131 points  (0 children)

The biggest Glenn stopper of them all is Glenn

[–]CelticsMission_Pay_3373 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Plus the fact Doc Rivers is not the wisest coach in the NBA

[–][PHI] Joel EmbiidYesWhatHello 2446 points2447 points  (178 children)

Leave Doc in toronto

[–]RaptorsFetchFrosh 577 points578 points  (18 children)

I assume that's the plan, they do play there again on Friday.

[–]Bullsodeepaanh 28 points29 points  (11 children)

Ey? That’s some funny scheduling haha

[–]RaptorsFetchFrosh 55 points56 points  (6 children)

Raptors just did the same thing with two games in a row in Miami.

[–]76erspagonator 921 points922 points  (21 children)

Doc's gotta be the only coach I've seen that decides to run zone after the other team gets hot from 3. Truly next level thinking to run a scheme that's gonna give up more 3s.

[–]RaptorsSdrater3 237 points238 points  (15 children)

To be fair, the raptors aren't supposed to be a good shooting team. Its understandable to think a team of 6'8 PF's would eventually fall back to earth from 3. Not today tho lol

[–]76erspagonator 136 points137 points  (11 children)

I would have understood it if we were getting killed in the paint or something but you guys started off hot with Siakam going 3/3 and the whole team started 9/15.

I get playing percentages, but he decided to give up even easier looks to a team with momentum.

[–]WarriorsKevon-Looneys-burner 129 points130 points  (15 children)

Why was Embiid out so long in the 4th?

[–]RaptorsFetchFrosh 386 points387 points  (2 children)

They needed to save his energy so that he could come back in when the game was already out of reach.

[–]RaptorsToronto416ix 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Doc Rivers masterclass

[–][TOR] Vince Carterschooli00 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Coach Bud energy

[–]Raptorspahamack 130 points131 points  (5 children)

Because he had to.

Look at the man's body language. He's not in shape right now. And the Raptors just kept running at them too.

Apparently he had an unreported injury during the off season.

[–]76ersTakenakaHanbei 57 points58 points  (1 child)

Plantar fasciitis, I think they said.

[–]San Francisco WarriorsSubcooledBoiling 195 points196 points  (32 children)

Top 15 coach of all time lol

[–]jumpthroughit 221 points222 points  (24 children)

Nurse completely dominated him tonight it was hilarious. Doc has never and will never be on Nurse’s level. Top 15 lmao.

[–]RaptorsFetchFrosh 134 points135 points  (3 children)

Give any NBA coach the rosters he's had and they'd be Top 15 too.

[–]GarPaxarebitches 35 points36 points  (1 child)

Dude has 1 championship I'm 23 seasons and MF had KG, Ray, Pierce, CP3, Blake, Kawhi, PG, Harden, Embiid, and T-Mac.

Any mediocre coach would have won at least 1 ring in that span.

[–]76ersmohub21 103 points104 points  (19 children)

He’s been getting exposed since the Celtics won their chip. How does he keep getting hired …

[–]Raptorsdeadmancaulking 72 points73 points  (11 children)

I fucking know right? It’s downright embarrassing imo because 76ers fans aren’t stupid, they can see better than anyone that that man finessed his way to the role years ago, proved he’s incompetent/doesn’t take responsibility, and SOMEHOW HE IS STILL THERE.

[–]76ersmohub21 62 points63 points  (8 children)

Ben’s biggest sin is the fact that he shielded Doc from how bad he was in that Hawks series. Ben played awful, and the Hawks capitalized, but I swear to god any other coach gets past that series

[–]RaptorsGandalfThePrivileged 55 points56 points  (3 children)

At the very least he’s one of the Top 30 head coaches in the league this season.

[–]76ersRoyorbs3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely one of the coaches of all time

[–]CavaliersUrbanJatt 61 points62 points  (3 children)

Yall might as well bring Brett brown back

[–]PistonsKoloHickory 38 points39 points  (15 children)

How many games left does doc have?

[–][TOR] Hakeem OlajuwonDeSteph-DeCurry 122 points123 points  (4 children)

[–]Tampa Bay RaptorsRODjij 33 points34 points  (5 children)

[–]MavericksBigFatModeraterFupa 25 points26 points  (9 children)

[–]BucksNYTe13 182 points183 points  (6 children)

[–]Trail Blazersbeatrailblazer 59 points60 points  (3 children)

HE DID??

[–]RaptorsNemesith 80 points81 points  (1 child)

no, but are we just gonna wait around until he does??!?!?

[–]Hornetssh0tgunben 567 points568 points  (27 children)

Sixers might have chemistry issue. Full of individual talents but not getting d W...

[–][deleted] 497 points498 points  (10 children)

Hint it rhymes with roaching

[–]Raptorsa2242364 316 points317 points  (5 children)

poaching?

[–]Caliban_36 70 points71 points  (2 children)

Does the Sixers lineup injury history make them count as endangered?

[–]Corvo_Attano_451 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Encroaching?

[–]shanmustafa 666 points667 points  (50 children)

can Maxey just not go left, it feels like everytime he does he picks up his dribble pretty quick

they need to trade Tobias, makes no sense for him to be on this team if this is his role, esp when you can get someone better fitting

[–]Raptors-super-hans 210 points211 points  (2 children)

He's not an ambiturner

[–][TOR] Hakeem OlajuwonDeSteph-DeCurry 253 points254 points  (22 children)

[–]RaptorsDEastman 212 points213 points  (8 children)

It may be time for another Tobias Harris conversation

[–][deleted] 74 points75 points  (1 child)

Even when he plays good I still don’t like him

[–]artmorte 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Should just have him run the second unit. He doesn't get enough looks among Harden, Embiid and Maxey.

[–]RaptorsDisastrous_Usual4886 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Tobias Harris over me?!

  • Jimmy Butler after looking at the box score for this game.

[–][TOR] OG AnunobyGoalnado 436 points437 points  (28 children)

Tyrese Maxey is a fucking stud, he's the only reason this was even a contest

[–][PHI] Andrew ToneyMukbeth 144 points145 points  (23 children)

Joel had 31 too

[–]Raptorswoo_back 176 points177 points  (4 children)

honestly felt like maxey had more timely baskets that prevented this one from busting wide open

[–]soldaboy 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Joel had a few kobe late shot clock shots that stopped it from cascading in the first half

Then doc sat him until 2mins left in the 4th

[–]RaptorsXenaRen 73 points74 points  (3 children)

Crazy how 31 on 17 shots is a meh game for Joel at this point. He needs to get his conditioning back up, 5 boards is unacceptable and he was lost on help defense.

[–]Nat_Feckbeard 18 points19 points  (4 children)

crazy bc it felt like he had the ball in his hands maybe 10 times the whole game. No idea why Philly didn't feed him more

[–][deleted] 23 points24 points  (1 child)

offensively* lol. bro is a turnstile

[–]Raptorsslamdunk23 402 points403 points  (4 children)

Point pascal is legit

[–]guffzillar 376 points377 points  (14 children)

I think the takeaway was Philly can't defend the Raps When u get Embiid/Maxey and Harden scoring 80 pts and your team shot 50% from the field and u had a 9 foul advantage and you still lose by 10 you've got some team-wide problems

[–]ColdPressedSteak 107 points108 points  (6 children)

Tucker was 2 for 9 for 5 points before a pretty much garbage time 3 and his defense isn't what it was. Tobias 1-5 for 3 points. Both over 30 minutes. Melton the only dude on the bench with even a pulse. Harrell bout to be out the league in a year. Coach is Doc. Roster is completely dependent on their big 3 being great every night

[–]RaptorsDrKurgan 66 points67 points  (2 children)

You can't play 37 years old Tucker for 31.5 minutes and expect stellar defence.

[–][deleted] 49 points50 points  (4 children)

I swear that man Embiid is a negative on defense now. He can’t even get boards over Precious. Embarrassing. Idgaf how many points he scores, he really needs to lock in on rim protecting and securing offensive boards. Harden and Maxey is enough offense for him to take a step back

[–]Tampa Bay Raptorsdrewk1993 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Best part of the game was siakam talking to pj

[–]76erspagonator 218 points219 points  (9 children)

I've never seen a team look so clueless on rotations and this bad in transition defense

[–]NBAEarthWarping 75 points76 points  (0 children)

If you didn't know you'd think they gave up on the coach

[–]Timberwolvesnotafan1 35 points36 points  (1 child)

You haven't watched 3rd quarter Wolves then.

[–]drcanadax 349 points350 points  (21 children)

Does GTJ ever pass up a shot? 27 points. 0 assists. 0 rebounds.

[–]RaptorsEcstatic-Buy-2907 309 points310 points  (2 children)

Pretty hard to pass up a shot when the opponents aren’t guarding you

[–]Raptorsbrokendrive 27 points28 points  (0 children)

And you can make a very good number of them

Will take this stat line any night

[–]Raptorssaltface14 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Why pass up the shot if you can go 11/16 and hit 5 3s

[–][TOR] Pascal SiakamTavarin 166 points167 points  (1 child)

It's his job, he is there to be pesky on defense and shoot on offense.

[–]Baulderdash77 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Gary has 2 jobs- make his open shots and get in the passing lanes.

He was 5-10 from 3 and got 2 steals. He did his job.

[–]Raptorsfabrar 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The man has one job and it’s to get buckets. He performed splendidly tonight.

[–]RaptorsStrange_Blues 33 points34 points  (0 children)

he's a play finisher by trade

[–]Raptorsenantiornithe 152 points153 points  (2 children)

  • This isn't even the first 13-assist game from Siakam this year
  • Honestly for a team that struggled with consistency all of last season and through the start of this season, this was just a very heartening game. Not giving up big runs, no moments where the half-court offense just ground to a halt for a whole quarter. They took a 10-point lead and then basically just held that for practically the rest of the game, and every time Philly made a run they were able to figure it out and find (and make) a good shot
  • Siakam made four straight pull-up threes
  • Embiid was playing well on offense and absolutely cooking but he did not look like a happy man out there
  • His level of effort and mobility on defense on the other hand... catastrophic honestly. Barely there as a rim protector, that's on the possessions where he wasn't just not involved at all due to not getting back in transition.
  • Gary with the double-nothing

[–][PHI] Joel EmbiidVip_Pwner 590 points591 points  (29 children)

Brett brown had a shorter leash with a worse roster than Doc river

[–]RaptorsSalkStreetRH[🍰] 317 points318 points  (26 children)

Brett brown had Embiid, Butler, Simmons, Reddick, and a better Tobias then the one we are currently watching. I would argue his roster was better. Still not a fan of Doc though.

[–]Rockets__john_cena__ 202 points203 points  (9 children)

Well… he was fired after the FO let Butler go, doubled down on Tobias, and near-maxed Al Horford for the worst fitting roster ever lol

[–]kobbled 106 points107 points  (3 children)

The raptors played great defense (sixers did not) and the sixers couldn't punish when the ball was doubled out of Harden's hands. Well played by the Raps.

[–]Myrese_Taxey 51 points52 points  (2 children)

At this point, I want to lose.

[–]Raptorskevpsp101 99 points100 points  (0 children)

13 assists with 1 turnover is a crazy stat line, prime point god numbers as a first option

[–]Raptorsiamjaydubs 252 points253 points  (13 children)

Man, who knew the 76ers sucked this bad without Danny Green.....

[–]BucksGriffan 143 points144 points  (10 children)

What ever happened to him again? (I know the answer I’m only a humble Embiid hater)

[–]Heatgoat-arade 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Embiid ate him

[–]RaptorsMajinV232 60 points61 points  (6 children)

Torn ACL during last year's playoffs

[–]Nuggetsspiderpigface 84 points85 points  (5 children)

Wow that's terrible, how did that happen?

[–][TOR] Kyle LowrySamiMadeMeDoIt 220 points221 points  (13 children)

Siakam has been unreal to start the year man

His scoring cooled off in the second half but he was still dropping dimes all game long

[–]Raptorspahamack 60 points61 points  (1 child)

He didn't need to score in the second half. The entire team was humming.

It's a really good sign imo, when your #1 doesn't give a shit about stat padding.

[–]RaptorsDannyzPlay 61 points62 points  (6 children)

Definitely a late bloomer. He hasn't peaked yet.

[–]76ersbigkeys11 80 points81 points  (3 children)

Every loss is one loss closer to Doc’s last game 🙌

[–]RaptorsmMounirM 768 points769 points  (90 children)

The Sixers are now 1-4. That is all

[–]CavaliersHamstersAreReal 65 points66 points  (1 child)

Raptors elite transition offense vs. 76ers putrid transition defense. Raptors had this in the bag.

[–]soldaboy 109 points110 points  (17 children)

It's quite sad how far you have to go into this thread to find the 2 most obvious problems on this sixers team

Doc rivers and tobias Harris

[–]RaptorsTheApocalyticOne 65 points66 points  (9 children)

Never seen a dude making $37 mil look so passive and be a nonfactor as much as Tobias Harris

[–]soldaboy 37 points38 points  (2 children)

He's by far the 2nd worst contract in the league

Only triumphed by the worst contract of all time

[–]RaptorsSquirtleGetsWet 22 points23 points  (1 child)

Rick dipietro?

[–]Bullsvolantredx 24 points25 points  (2 children)

And they chose him over Jimmy.

[–]RaptorsSoft-Farmer2222 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Tobias Harris over me?

[–]Gran DestinoYlissian 54 points55 points  (1 child)

Tobias Harris quietly ducked all the slander while Simmons got bullied so bad he's mentally regressed into a shell of his former self.

[–]PenalRapist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Let's not pretend Simmons hasn't earned every bit of ill will he may have gotten 5x over being one of the biggest flakes in the history of professional sports.

[–]cjmaguire17 51 points52 points  (1 child)

I’m not watching another Sixers game until woj tells me doc is fired

[–]Raptorsbeaverlyknight 150 points151 points  (8 children)

Anyone who ever put Ben Simmons ahead of Pascal Siakam in a redraft since 2019 should submit their apology forms here

Maxey is really good, also. Hate that guy.

[–]LakersYankeedud3 48 points49 points  (4 children)

The Sixers perimeter defense is awful. They have an all-nba defender who they are not giving minutes to. This seems like a common sense fix, which is why Doc won’t do it.

[–]bmac619 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Raptors are killing us with 3s.

Let's keep playing zone all game.

Doc

[–]Kitdee75 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Yeah it makes no sense why Thybulle is in Doc’s doghouse. With Embiid, Maxey, Harden and Tobias, they literally don’t need any offense from him. Doc needs to go.

[–]LakersxCTRLxALTxDELx 63 points64 points  (1 child)

Philadelphia 76ers look like the team to beat. Something the Doc ordered. Harden taking a pay cut to fill the roster with marquee veterans. GM Morey should have a statue of himself built.

[–]Celticszgamer200 101 points102 points  (3 children)

In 99% of games where the Sixers and Raptors square off I'd be rooting for both teams to somehow lose, but not gonna lie, really wanted to see the Sixers fall to 1-4 and TOR has delivered for me.

So just for tonight, thanks Raptors.

[–]ESF-hockeeyyy 82 points83 points  (12 children)

Man, Sixers fans really hate Raps fans lol

[–]Tacitus_99 35 points36 points  (2 children)

Who is fired first, Dr Glenn Rivers or Steve Nash?

[–][LAL] Sasha Vujacicnoturaveragesavage 175 points176 points  (37 children)

Sixer fans I don’t know how you listen to them consistently but your announcers are TERRIBLE. They’re up there for worst in the league for sure.

[–]Raptorsdfsaqwe 59 points60 points  (11 children)

absolute zero energy

[–][LAL] Sasha Vujacicnoturaveragesavage 108 points109 points  (10 children)

And whine just as much as Embiid lol I had to switch to Torontos stream. Absolutely unbearable.

[–]RaptorsSPC54 70 points71 points  (2 children)

Somehow not as close as the score suggests, yet I don’t think we ever had a lead bigger than 14 points.

Raptors took control of the game towards the end of the 1Q and Sixers were stuck playing catch-up all the way to the end.

Sixers defence is fucking putrid.

See you Friday, Philly.

Edit: Biggest lead was 17 points, my bad.

[–]76ersSignificant-Media-91 15 points16 points  (0 children)

After this Harris performance we can’t laugh at Simmons for at least four days.

[–]LARGEYELLINGGUY 15 points16 points  (3 children)

Was this the most people from cameroon ever in an NBA game?

[–]RaptorsCaskJeeves 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Ric Flair at the game because he's made a career out of watching 280 lb men go flying across the stadium after pretending to be hit

[–]RaptorsKillerMemestarX 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One thing I really love about this Raptors team is how much it feels like every member of the starting lineup is ready to step up for whatever they’re needed for. This game Gary led in points, Pascal led in assists, Barnes led in rebounds, OG led in steals, and FVV of all people led in blocks. I feel like you could swap most of those players for a different one of those stats and it would make sense. There isn’t a definitive top tier superstar, but it feels like there’s not a single weak link in the starting lineup, and it feels like they’re all willing to do whatever’s necessary to contribute to winning.

I have no notes. Everyone played their role perfectly. Gary with 27 points and no rebounds or assists is hilarious.

Embiid and Maxey always cook us, but the defense on everyone else was great.

Sixers looked a bit lazy out there, I won't lie.

I honestly don't think there's a team I feel happier beating than the sixers

Boston, but it's close.

May be that's on Doc, but the Sixers should just trade Harris for role players if they don't use him. Just wasting 30+ mil for someone who is an average defender and is not even touching the ball on offense.

I asked this in the game thread but it bears repeating, how did the 6ers win the Ben trade and end up worse?

Don't worry Sixers fans, I'm sure Doc is working on some big adjustments for Friday
