I actually think Bennett is funny and charming too, but (and no offense to Bennett) we have seen him SO MANY TIMES. They’re trying to give him this quirky, care-free edit, but he’s just a rehash of Bachelors from the early aughts. A ~fun~ version, but a version nonetheless.

I don’t want Joe to just be “the first Asian bachelor(!!!!)” which is why I didn’t mention that in my post. Naturally TPTB would take that and run with it, I mean the only time we have really heard him speak was when Margaret Cho was on....which I won’t get into.

I understand the implications of the “suburban viewer” and so do they and that’s why I’d be so excited for them to do a greater service to these viewers by showing that there is excellence beyond whatever this prototype (white (until recently), rich (likely legacy money), tall, occasionally hot) of The Bachelor is that they have created. If it’s “too far for America.” to see an AMERICAN LEAD who is a doctor who worked during the early onset of the COVID crisis portrayed as a love interest I gotta give a BIG EYE ROLL to America.

I am not trying to be combative. I can see your point of view and I imagine many people feel this way.
