Even if it's not able now, the system should bolster itself and should transition to being able to take care of the "new normal", which is the new equilibrium of # of patients in hospitals from covid. Covid isn't going away, the 30% or so unvaxxed Covid breeding / evolving farms have made sure of that. It's time to realize we can't lock down periodically for the rest of time, but to start to accept the new normal and increase health care spending to deal with the higher average amount of patients due to covid.
