    Ok, Victorious is amazing. In season two they just stop caring. Ariana Grande swallows keys. They all get put in prison in a war torn country. There is still a boy who brings his ventriloquist dummy everywhere. This is a show set in a high school.

    Hot take from the minister in charge of COVIDSafe 🤦‍♂️ Obviously the companies that the current app were outsourced to are not foreign. Oh wait: Boston Consulting Group, USA; Amazon Web Services USA. A dishonest and disingenuous take. Fuck you.

    First, didn’t want a foreign company to store app data due to privacy concerns. Now they want to completely outsource contact tracing from Aus health officials to Apple, a foreign tech company. What is your policy?

    I am deeply shocked that that Look Up advertising campaign isn't for some scientology thing or similar, but what appears to be actual science just trying to get you to literally look up.

    Life is so much smaller than it used to be, and I yearn for the old days like an Austen heroine yearning to experience the World Outside. But don’t open up before it’s done, because once we’re out of lockdown I don’t want to have to go back in again. Going back will break us.

    I miss running into acquaintances, and browsing in stores. I miss seeing my friends, and hugging my parents. I miss knowing I’ll be able to see and hug the whole family at Christmas, seeing how the kids have grown. I miss buskers and tourists and the distant sounds of tour guides

    A whole three-four more weeks of this is a lot, and it’s been a black dog with me all day. I absolutely do not want lockdown to end before transmission is fully contained. But I also miss the community things of going to the gym and eating in restaurants so much it aches.

    With iOS 13.7 out today, it’s possible to detect Covid exposures without installing an app. But not in Australia. DTA, Minister Hunt, Minister Robert, Randall Brugeaud, Dept of Health have failed miserably on COVIDSafe. Unbelievable. (Not too late to pivot, btw)
