Columbia is the capital of and largest city in the U.S. state of South Carolina, with a population of 129,272 as of the 2010 United States Census. As of July 1, 2013, the city's population was estimated to be 133,358 (U.S. Census Bureau, July 2014 release). The city serves as the county seat of Richland County, and a portion of the city extends into neighboring Lexington County. It is the center of the Columbia metropolitan statistical area, which had a population of 767,598 as of the 2010 United States Census, growing to 800,495 by July 1, 2013, according to 2014 U.S. Census estimates. The name Columbia was a poetic term used for the United States, originating from the name of Christopher Columbus.
The city is located approximately 13 miles (21 km) northwest of the geographic center of South Carolina, and is the primary city of the Midlands region of the state. It lies at the confluence of the Saluda River and the Broad River, which merge at Columbia to form the Congaree River. Columbia is home to the University of South Carolina, the state's flagship and largest university, and is also the site of Fort Jackson, the largest United States Army installation for Basic Combat Training. In 1860, the city was the location of the South Carolina Secession Convention, which marked the departure of the first state from the Union in the events leading up to the Civil War.

Plot: After losing a bet with his girlfriend, Forrest Rousseau has to kiss another man at a party. COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA — Two masked gunman got a taste of their own medicine Friday evening when they tried to rob customers at a Columbia barber's shop. According to the State newspaper, there were about 20 people inside the Next Up Barber Shop at around 7 p.m. when the two masked gunmen, one armed with a pistol and the other a shotgun entered the store on Fort Jackson Boulevard. Once inside the gunmen pulled out their weapons and ordered everyone to get on the floor and handover their money, but what they didn't realize was that barber Elmurray Bookman and one of his customers were concealed carry permit holders. The 38th annual Jubilee Festival of Black History and Culture filled Richland and Marion streets in Columbia on Sept. 17, 2016. The festival features live music and stand-up comedy, artist demonstrations, vendors and activities. This year's festival marks the reopening of the renovated Mann-Simons Site, which celebrates the rich history of multiple generations of an African-American family who prospered in Columbia from the antebellum period through the Jim Crow era and civil rights movement.

The building is up for sale, and the hope is that it will be used for commercial purposes to accompany a nearby ball park. We tried to break the world record again this year. Unfortunately, we missed our goal, unlike last year where we did Zumba for 30 minutes and had over 1,100 people.
