The below language and people bibliographies are lists of the print materials held in our collections.

They are generated by searching by the language name in the language field in our collections catalogue, Mura®. If you search Mura® using a language name in the language field, it will retrieve records for both language and the people. This means the records may be about language, history, culture or a combination of these. If you'd like to know if we hold any photographs and sound materials on these languages,you can contact the Access Unit.

When you are assessing materials a good guide is to look at the title, annotation and the number and geographical location of the Language/Group headings. An item with fewer Language/Group headings or with only Language/Group headings in your area is more likely to be useful to you than an item which has dozens of Language/Group headings stretching from the Northern Territory to Tasmania.

We suggest consulting your local, university or state library to see if they have any of the books, serials, or pamphlets listed. They may also hold rare and language materials. If you are unable to obtain any of this material from your local library, contact Client Services about obtaining access to these materials.
