Hivos works in 26 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Most activities involve cooperation with our southern partner network. In other cases, activities focus on the implementation of large-scale programmes in countries, such as the biogas programme that also comprises some West African countries.

Since 2011, most programmes are managed from the six Hivos regional offices. The exception is the region of West Asia and the related activities in the Middle East and North Africa which are still managed by staff in The Hague.

In addition, Hivos works on advocacy and campaigns directed at governments, international institutions, businesses and citizens in the North or at the global level.
