Collection Strategy

The Collection Strategy along with the NGV Collections and Loans Policy is central to our management of the collection and to our engagement with the community. The Collection Strategy is a statement of one of the core purposes of the NGV: namely the acquisition of significant art works for the NGV’s permanent collection. This document address how this purpose will be pursued over the next three years through the Gallery’s collecting goals.

Protection of Cultural Objects on Loan

The National Gallery of Victoria is an approved borrowing institution under the Australian Government’s Protection of Cultural Objects on Loan Scheme. Information about the scheme can be found at www.arts.gov.au.
