State repression continues unabated with five people facing federal charges regarding alleged October 27 activities. Michael “Rattler” Markus and James “Angry Bird” White are in custody while three remain at large, may they remain forever free.

The roughly 700 arrests in North Dakota continues to slowly winds its way through the courts.

A judge dismissed three misdemeanor cases out of 22 arrests from a September 13 action, citing lack of evidence. This follows three other cases being dismissed from charges stemming from the same day.  For those keeping track at home this is only the fourth set of charges to reach trial, the others resulting in 10 convictions by jury and 7 plea deals.

Meanwhile Sacred Stone has been served with a trespass notice by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Sacred Stone is the first camp established in the NoDAPL struggle, in April, 2016, and sits across the Cannonball river from Oceti Sakowin camp. The Army Corp has earlier issued a February 22 eviction deadline for Oceti Sakowin camp.
