A temple (from the Latin word templum) is a structure reserved for religious or spiritual activities such as prayer and sacrifice. A templum constituted a sacred precinct as defined by a priest, or augur. It has the same root as the word "template," a plan in preparation of the building that was marked out on the ground by the augur. Templa also became associated with the dwelling places of a god or gods. Despite the specific set of meanings associated with the religion of the ancient Rome, the word has now become quite widely used to describe a house of worship for any number of religions and is even used for time periods prior to the Romans.
Hindu temples are called by many different names, varying on region and language, including mandir, mandira, ambalam, gudi, kavu, koil, kovil, déul, raul, devasthana and devalaya.
Hindu temples are large and magnificent with a rich history. There is evidence of use of sacred ground as far back as the Bronze Age and later the Indus Valley Civilization. However, it was not until Today, Hindu temples have been built in various countries around the world, including India, Nepal, Mauritius, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Great Britain, the United States, Australia, South Africa and Canada.
Temple Run is a 2011 3D endless running video game developed and published by the Raleigh-based Imangi Studios. It is produced, designed and programmed by husband and wife team Keith Shepherd and Natalia Luckyanova, and with art by Kiril Tchangov. The game was initially released for iOS devices, and later ported to Android systems and Windows Phone 8.
A sequel to the original game was released on January 17, 2013 for iOS, and on January 24 for Android. As of June 2014, Temple Run and its sequel have been downloaded over 1 billion times.
In Temple Run, the player controls an explorer who, having stolen a treasure from a temple, is chased by "demonic monkeys" who want to eat him/her. As the game is an endless running game, there is no end to the temple; therefore, the player plays until the character falls off the temple to his/her demise or is eaten by the crazed monkeys.
While the character is running, the player can tilt their device left or right to move the character to the left or right of the screen to collect coins or avoid objects. There are three types of coin: gold, red, and blue. A golden coin has a value of one credit, red is two credits and blue is three. The coins/credits can be used to buy and then upgrade power-ups and other characters. When the player needs to turn left or right, they swipe their finger across the touchscreen in the corresponding direction. If they wish to jump over an object, they swipe upwards; if they wish to slide under an object, they swipe downwards.

Temple of the Dog was an American rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. It was conceived by vocalist Chris Cornell of Soundgarden as a tribute to his friend, the late Andrew Wood, lead singer of the bands Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone. The line-up included Stone Gossard on rhythm guitar, Jeff Ament on bass guitar (both ex-members of Mother Love Bone), Mike McCready on lead guitar, Matt Cameron on drums, and Eddie Vedder providing some lead and backing vocals.
The band released its only album, the self-titled Temple of the Dog, in April 1991 through A&M Records. The recording sessions took place in November and December 1990 at London Bridge Studios, in Seattle, Washington with producer Rick Parashar. Although earning praise from music critics at the time of its release, the album was not widely recognized until 1992, when Vedder, Ament, Gossard, and McCready had their breakthrough with Pearl Jam.
Temple of the Dog was started by Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell, who had been a roommate of Andrew Wood, the lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone. Wood died on March 19, 1990 of a heroin overdose, the day Cornell got back from a tour. As he went on to tour Europe a few days later, he started writing songs in tribute to his late friend. The result was two songs, "Reach Down" and "Say Hello 2 Heaven," which he recorded as soon as he got back from touring.

The Khajuraho Group of Monuments is a group of Hindu and Jain temples in Madhya Pradesh, India. About 175 kilometres (109 mi) southeast of Jhansi, they are one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India.[1] The temples are famous for their Nagara-style architectural symbolism and their erotic sculptures.[2] Most Khajuraho temples were built between 950 and 1050 CE by the Chandela dynasty. Historical records note that Khajuraho temple site had 85 temples by 12th century, spread over 20 square kilometers. Of these, only about 20 temples have survived, spread over 6 square kilometers.[1] Of the various surviving temples, the Kandariya temple is decorated with a profusion of sculptures with intricate details, symbolism and expressiveness of ancient Indian art.[3] The Khajuraho group of temp...
WHO IS THE TEMPLE, WHO IS THE TEMPLE
ANGELS DO NOT FOLLOW ME
AND THE SUN DON'T ALWAYS SHINE
CAN'T ALWAYS COUNT ON YOUR MOTHER'S LOVE
WHEN THE TURNING WORLD
UNFURLS UNKIND
NEITHER FAITH NOR REASON
SAVE ME FROM THE FIRE
AND WHO BUT WHO'S GONNA SAVE MY ASS
WHEN IT'S HANGIN' OUT ON THE WIRE
SOME PEOPLE TRUST FAITH
SOME PEOPLE TRUST REASON
I BELIEVE WHAT I SEE IN THE LIGHT IN THE NIGHT
AND THE CHANGIN' SEASON
IN THE TEMPLE OF MY MOTHER'S FAITH
IN A TEMPLE THAT MY MIND REPLACED
'CAUSE A TEMPLE MADE OF STONE
AIN'T NO SAINT GONNA SHOW
WALK ON WATER WALK ON AIR
WALK IN SOMEONE ELSE'S SHOES
WALK ON DOWN THE ROAD AWHILE
WALKIN' WITH THE WALKIN' BLUES
I HAVE CRIED IN FRUSTRATION
WRESTLED WITH DESIRE
AIN'T NOBODY EVER HEAR MY PRAYER
AND SET MY SOUL ON FIRE
SOME PEOPLE TRUST FAITH
SOME PEOPLE TRUST REASON
SOME PEOPLE NEED TO BELIEVE
WHAT THEY NEED
AND THEN THEY BELIEVE SOME
I THINK ABOUT MY MOTHER'S FAITH
IN THE TEMPLE THAT MY MIND REPLACED
'CAUSE A TEMPLE MADE OF STONE
AIN'T NO SAINT GONNA SHOW
STARS AND SATELLITES
FALLING THRU' THE OPEN SKY
RANDOM AND COLLIDING
JUST LIKE CHANGES IN OUR LIVES
LOSING FAITH ALONE INSIDE OURSELVES
REACHING OUT FOR SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN
TO BELIEVE
WAKE ME WHEN IT'S OVER ANGEL
WAKE ME UP WITH WINGS
FLOATIN' OVER THE SEVEN SEAS
WITH A BAD CIGAR
AND A PEARLY QUEEN
ONE MAN LIVIN' IN PARADISE
ANOTHER CRAWLIN' IN THE SLIME
AIN'T NO SOLACE AND AIN'T NO COMFORT
UNTIL THE DAY HE DIE
SOME PEOPLE TRUST FAITH
SOME PEOPLE TRUST REASON
I CAN SEE WHAT I SEE WHAT I SEE
WHAT I SEE AND IT AIN'T NO TREASON
IN THE TEMPLE OF MY MOTHER'S FAITH
IN THE TEMPLE THAT MY MIND REPLACED
'CAUSE A TEMPLE MADE OF STONE
MADE MY HEART TURN COLD
SOME PEOPLE TRUST FAITH
SOME PEOPLE TRUST REASON
SOME AIN'T GOT NOWHERE LEFT TO GO
JUST UP A TREE SON
IN THE TEMPLE OF MY MOTHER'S FAITH
IN THE TEMPLE THAT MY MIND REPLACED
'CAUSE A TEMPLE MADE OF STONE
AND AIN'T NO SAINT GONNA SHOW
SOME PEOPLE TRUST REASON
SOME PEOPLE TRUST REASON
IN A TEMPLE THERE'S A SOAPBOX POLITICIAN
