This country's housing market has long been broken, but it's now spiralling out of control. Average house prices are almost seven times people's incomes, and in places like London up to 12 times higher. Over 1.6million people are on housing waiting lists in the UK, including 100,000 children without a proper place to call home. Because of skyrocketing housing costs, people across the country are struggling to get by with soaring rents cutting into their pay packets... It's easy to say the right things on housing. It's a whole other matter to introduce the comprehensive and radical steps we need to actually solve this country's longstanding housing crisis.
As a London MP, I see the consequences of those failures every week in my surgeries. Young people forced to live in their parent's home until well into their 30s, couples renting in the private sector and struggling to save for a deposit, and families living in overcrowded conditions. Worst of all, there are far too many people who can't find anywhere to live at all. They need our help, and that's the purpose of the Housing White Paper we have published today.
A Labour-run DfID would seek to offer a hybrid approach that focuses on economic, environmental and social development, without ever losing sight of what DfID was created to achieve. I will continue to champion the invaluable work DfID does and ensure the UK does not wane on its foreign aid commitments.
Lettuce rationing probably wasn't in most pundits' predictions for 2017. But this winter our supermarket shelves have been emptying of the green vegetables we take for granted.
It is too easy to pathologize bad behaviour with psychobabble and in this instance it hurts real people; it is just highbrow name calling from someone out to make a fast buck at the expense of a vulnerable group of people. Donald Trump isn't what mental illness looks like but his 'diagnosis' is certainly what stigma looks like, and often that stigma is the worst part of having a mental illness and the biggest challenge to recovery from it. How can a person truly recover when no-one will employ them for example?
You wouldn't let your child go off to meet a stranger or put themselves in a risky situation - and the same rules apply to the online world. Some children are visiting adult chatrooms, viewing inappropriate content and in some cases being bullied by peers or even - in extreme situations - radicalised, and we need to protect them from these risks.
The way Taylor Swift got to the top was by coming across as incredibly grounded and honest: super-talented but still the girl next door. The reason she lost her way was because she started hanging out with models and film stars and drifting away from her roots.
Once captured, the baby chimps then enter a sophisticated chain that stretches from the poachers in the jungles to the middlemen, who arrange false export permits and transport, and ultimately to the buyers.
During the row, which I still am incredulous about, the cyclist decried: "I thought disabled people were all nice", following my protestations that by blocking my exit from my car he was in fact discriminating against me. True story.
My son Archie was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2008, aged just 3 years old. It is a severe, degenerative, muscle-wasting condition, which will one day lead to him being unable to move by himself and will significantly shorten his life.
My ears pricked up; I knew the Marsden was a cancer hospital. The doctor said they believed Ney had Leukaemia. My first reaction was to laugh. I told the doctor they had already wrongly diagnosed Ney and this time I was sure that they'd come back saying they were wrong again.
Fulfilling the promise of a fast food brand used to be simple; it had to be fast, and it had to be food. It was really no more complicated than that. In fact, as long as the need for a rapid injection of fat, salt and sugar was fulfilled, quality, provenance and presentation were largely irrelevant (look no further than the late-night kebab for proof).
Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness week matters because it shines a light on a subject usually seen as taboo and it brings it kicking and screaming out into the open. Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness week matters and I'm grateful that it exists.
For some children, debt means not being able to socialise or take part in activities like sports or school trips, and missing out on birthdays, family gatherings and holidays. They can feel embarrassed for not owning things that are considered normal by their classmates.
This revelation will ring in our ears every time we see the humble, smiling Beckham with an African child in his arms, whenever he appears on stage for Unicef, whenever he posts an Instagram snap of his daughter Harper showing daddy who's boss.
The Government must scrap this terrible ESA cut and focus instead on improving the accuracy of the assessment process, so that people with Parkinson's and other conditions get the right support first time and are not bullied into work inappropriately.
I think it's a shame that it is impolite to bring up glory holes in most conversations, but I understand that isn't everyone's cup of tea. But I do think it would be darn super if we were able to talk about some sex openly.
Tinnitus can be distressing and debilitating. It can affect anyone, at any age. But with the right support, treatment and guidance, it can be managed and there is hope. Let's stand together for tinnitus this Tinnitus Awareness Week, and aim for a better understanding.
If you really must babysit, keep your mobile on you at all times, because the killer will have cut the phone wires. Also don't sit in front of the unlocked patio doors with the curtains open. That's just asking for trouble.
If he's making a bit of a racket and needs calming down, I plonk him in the box. If he's looking a bit bored and in need of stimulation, I place it in front of him and watch him pummel it with delight. If he's being a bit cheeky, I close the flaps over his head so he's cocooned inside, then whip them open a few seconds later to see his grinning face staring manically back at me.
You're in a room full of people but you feel totally alone. Your mind is expanding to the point where it feels like it might explode. Your body tries to cool itself down so you start to sweat. Palpitations feel like a drum in your heart and its vibration causes your whole body to shake.
There's very little advice out there that speaks directly to women of my age. And when you do stumble across a blog or magazine that's supposedly aimed at you, they can be quite patronising - suggesting ranges that have been designed with the more mature lady in mind.
