Supplier Responsibility
Apple is committed to ensuring the highest standard of social responsibility wherever our products are made. Our Supplier Responsibility site outlines our Supplier Code of Conduct and the results of our recent supplier audits.
Verification of Apple’s Corporate Carbon Footprint
Apple’s corporate carbon footprint is verified by two entities: Bureau Veritas and the Fraunhofer Institute. Bureau Veritas verifies scopes 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions associated with our facilities. The Fraunhofer Institute verifies the scope 3 carbon emissions associated with our products and calculated using life cycle carbon assessment.
Reuse and Recycling
Apple Renew is a global program that lets you responsibly recycle your old computers, displays, phones and other devices at an Apple Store or on our recycling site. Apple also operates or participates in recycling programs in 99 per cent of the countries where we sell our products.
Regulated Substances Specification
Apple requires its suppliers to follow the rigorous standards set in our Regulated Substances Specification.
Sustainable Fibre Specification
When we use virgin paper in our packaging, Apple requires our suppliers to source it from sustainably managed forests or controlled wood sources.
