'What if that happens to me?': Coleen Nolan worries she'll be struck down with cancer like her late sister Bernie... as she reveals she quit social media after sick taunts from trolls

Coleen Nolan admits she's scared she'll die young from cancer like her beloved sister Bernie, who passed away in 2013 aged just 53.

The Loose Women star, 51, still hasn't visited her sister's grave as she's still not ready to accept the finality of her death.

In an interview with the Daily Star before she went into the Celebrity Big Brother house, she said: 'Bernie was 50 when she got cancer and then died at 53. I keep thinking "Bernie must have felt like this, what if that happens to me?".'

The singer also explained how vile online trolls prompted her to quit social media by making cruel jibes about Bernie.

She said: 'I don’t like going on Twitter anymore. You can get 99 comments that are fantastic but it’s always the nasty one you remember.

'When Bernie died people said some really cruel stuff. They do it to get a reaction. I had things like "I hope you die of cancer too". It was just mental.'

Coleen has recently discussed her marriage woes in detail on Loose Women as well as in her In Therapy special on Channel 5.

Her eldest son Shane Jr, 28, told the star's ITV co-panellists that things 'didn't look good' for her relationship with husband Ray Fensome.

The 51-year-old - who is reported to be using her time in the Channel 5 house for a 'trial separation' - insisted she doesn't place the blame on Ray for the way their relationship is playing out.

Pouring her heart out to fellow housemate James Jordan, she admitted the emotional situation has left her 'questioning everything' about her happiness.

She said: 'I do think I’m having a midlife crisis, I don’t think it’s all him. I’m questioning everything – am I happy? I'm not putting all the blame on him. It’s just really sad.'

Using the time in the reality compound to reflect on her romance, the star appeared without her wedding ring as she entered the house on Tuesday.
