Sunbury father dead after he was 'run over by car by his partner' in Melbourne

A father-of-two has died after he was mowed down by a car in a suspected domestic dispute as his partner is charged with his murder.  Richie Powell, 32, (left and centre) was walking with a suitcase along a road in Sunbury, in outer north-west Melbourne, when he was struck down and killed in an alleged hit-and-run on Sunday morning. His partner Jess Lee Donker, 29, (second from left and centre) who allegedly fled from the scene in the car (right), has been charged with one count of murder. The charge comes after witnesses saw the alleged attack unfold. '(She) tried to run him over, probably five, six times,' a witness alleged. 'And then, finally she got him with that, she hit a pole, he was behind a pole... And she got him. She stopped the car to have a look. And she start screaming and then she went back to the car and spun up the road.'

Nelson Miller of Caldwell, Idaho, found the distressed sparrow unable to fly off as he fed his horses on New Year's Day.
