Adding an unusual colour twist to his ensemble, the handsome actor added a khaki cardigan, moss-hued shoes and a white T-shirt.

Joel was spotted at the exclusive benefit alongside writer and director David O. Russell and actor Jeremy Renner.

His appearance comes amid Oscar buzz for Joel, who recently received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Loving.

Speaking to Vogue Australia last month, he revealed that the buzz about his performance was 'very flattering', but that he was keen to turn the focus back to the film itself.

'[The nominations are] a good reflection on the film, which resonates so strongly and screams very loudly about things that are going on today,' he said.

If his performance continues to receive such praise, it's likely Joel could be among the Oscar nominees announced on January 24.
