A man has died after being pulled from the water at Mettams Pool on Saturday morning.
Police say the man, who is in his 30s, was snorkelling when he got into trouble.
"He was with a friend when he got into difficulty. He was retrieved from the water and taken by St John Ambulance to Sir Charles Gairdner hospital where he was declared deceased," said a spokeswoman.
Witnesses tweeted that beach goers gave the man CPR until paramedics got to the scene.

Meanwhile a man is in a critical condition in Rockingham Hospital after whats reported to have been a diving accident.
He was found floating ijn the ocean by a boatman who contacted Rockingham Volunteer Sea Rescue.
They transferred the man, who is in his 40s, to their vessel and performed CPR on him as they took him ashore.
An ambulance was waiting when the Sea Rescue boat reached the ramp at Port Kennedy and the man was rushed to Rockingham hospital.
