A national museum is a museum maintained by a nation.
The following is a list of national museums:
African Americans (also referred to as Black Americans or Afro-Americans) are an ethnic group of Americans (citizens or residents of the United States) with total or partial ancestry from any of the Black racial groups of Africa. The term may also be used to include only those individuals who are descended from enslaved Africans. As a compound adjective the term is usually hyphenated as African-American.
African Americans constitute the third largest racial and ethnic group in the United States (after White Americans and Hispanic and Latino Americans). Most African Americans are of West and Central African descent and are descendants of enslaved blacks within the boundaries of the present United States. On average, African Americans are of 78 percent West African, 19 percent European and 3 percent Native American heritage, with very large variation between individuals. Immigrants from some African, Caribbean, Central American, and South American nations and their descendants may or may not also self-identify with the term.

The National museum of the Philippines is truly magnificent. A well rounded (pair) of museums that are uniquely styled in architecture, and showcase a surprisingly large body of work, pleasantly weighted towards oil paintings. My interpretation aside -If you live in, or visit Metro Manila, this is one stop to put on your list! Don't miss it. Trust me - I'm from Philadelphia and no matter what rap the town gets... The museum here is unparalleled. This 1st of two videos definitely brought the Philadelphia museum of art to mind. The other is reminiscent of The Franklin Institute.
The Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture will open its doors to the public Sept. 24. "CBS This Morning" co-hosts Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell joined the museum's founding director, Lonnie Bunch, for a tour of what makes the 19th and newest Smithsonian museum such a special place.

I was able to visit the new African American museum in Washington, D.C. My photos are only a FEW of the many things you will see inside the museum. I immediately fell in love with the museum and everything inside. A lot of reminders of how far we've come as a people and I learned so much I would recommend everyone to visit, when they get a chance. Remember, for now, you need tickets to get inside.

A team from The National Poo Museum and Sandown Zoo on the Isle of Wight, England, collects lemur faeces. Poos must be kept in perfect condition throughout the collection process. Here we use a fire extinguisher to quickly freeze the faeces, temporarily hardening the delicate suface so that the poo can be safely transferred to the Museum for preservation and display.
