Make June
23rd Independence Day.
John decides to venture out and visit the head offices of the
Remain In campaign to give them a piece of his mind.
VOTE LEAVE!
How much affinity does a
British citizen feel with
New Zealand,
Australia,
Canada,
South Africa, and
America as opposed to
Croatia,
Slovenia or
Belgium? A step further:
India is the third largest investor in the UK. Equally, we’re the third largest investor in
India. An accountancy company in the UK would do business easier with an accountancy firm in India than that same UK firm does with a firm in
Europe. Why? India, for business purposes, would be
English speaking, use the same accountancy practices, settles disputes with the same common law. A firm in
Eastern Europe will do none of those things, but will instead rely on tens of thousands of pages of
EU regulation from first contact to conclusion.
Finally, again, Europe =/=
European Union. Not the same thing, though any Remain In campaigner would try to make you think otherwise. For years, you have been lied to regarding reforming welfare, stopping austerity, altering foreign policy, economic policy and immigration policy. At the next election cycle if we don’t leave, you’ll be lied to again by candidates saying they want major reform when they are prohibited from making those reforms. That kind of change has always been out of our hands and will be even more so with ever closer union.
The next time a piece of legislation proposed by the government, such as the
Tampon Tax, angers you -- take a moment and think. Is it a piece of
Westminster legislation or an
EU directive that has to be implemented?
The answer, just like the Tampon Tax which the
Tories get all the blame for, might just surprise you. The next time there’s an austerity protest aimed at
Downing Street, ask yourself, is it the Tories imposing the cuts or are they fulfilling an EU obligation?
Perhaps you might ask, well, surely there’s a choice whether to impose austerity? To that I say ask the former
Greek president who attempted to do just that and was replaced by the EU to carry the mandatory austerity through anyway. It’d happen here.
As long as
Britain remains in the EU, your vote has never mattered less because of this union. A vote to remain is an endorsement of further integration, a single currency, and the criminality the centralised
Brussels system has brought with it. But, for once, you can make that vote count for once on June 23rd. If you elect a clown as PM, you can remove that clown from Downing Street -- it’s called a ballot box and parliamentary democracy
. In the European Union however, the circus is all you get.
